Its not so much about what program they were in, more about a familiar face, known, and Ricky is more known than most in there, certainly now.

A fan base from a TV show means a lot I think, Ricky is also getting the anti Bear vote at the moment, so if he keeps his new Bestie he could drop votes

Ricky topping the votes was not about being in EE imo, it was about people wanting him to out-do Bear I reckon, BUT i don't think it will be done again, I personally think Bear will place higher than Ricky.

If the fb comments are anything to go by there are a hell of a lot of frau who watch this show and will vote for 'nice Ricky'. However I don't doubt that Eastenders gives him a boost, but as you say I think it's more of the anti-Bear vote. It's less likely to happen now they're less at war with each other though.

Prickly has been buddies with Bear for the last 2 episodes so these votes for him cannot be based on the anti Bear brigade.

Wasnt Heather Trott from Eastenders? Wasnt she out in the second eviction (instead of the nobody, Prince Lorenzo) despite being multitudes more famous and likable than ricky? this "fan of tv show vote" just doesnt exist.

i think these days, with the lower voting numbers, its much more complicated. People will place bets on someone they know to win, they may well then vote for that person to win without even watching the show, to try and secure a winning bet.

We will then have people who vote based on their perceived entertainment on the show, and then another group who vote for the person they like best, irrespective of what happened on the show.

So, the bottom line is that for the celeb version of BB, it really is less important what anyone does on the show itself, and more about feel good public perception.

The main thing that's helping Ricky is that his seen as the main "anti" Bear vote, the Eastenders fans thing is just a bonus.

What hurt Cheryl (I think that's what her name is) was that she wasn't putting herself as the alternative vote to a big character in the series to get through the VTS method, she just chilled out in the Garden most of the time.

But they're friends now and he has calmed down a lot. I think this is the reason Ricky winning odds are drifting.
