Once, we were moving into new houses for work and it was our first day. First of all I couldn't open the gate so I asked another girl if she could and then I realized it was a sliding gate not a pull. After I'd got inside and had a look around and stuff I thought I'd go and explore the area, got outside and realized I'd left my key inside and didn't realize the door locks automatically once you close it so I was locked out. I called one of my friends though cus he was staying with me and only took about 15mins to get back so it wasn't too bad.

I locked myself out when my mum went on holiday, I was giving next door their parcel and the door shut, I had to climb the kitchen roof to get to my bedroom window to climb in. I had shorts on so i scarred my knee.

Well once at nans I got locked in her bedroom because the doors she hadn't didn't fit so they would get stuck if they were closed.

She run to the local dry cleaners and they rescued me.

To this day they have not forgot it, so embarrassing.

Yeah I did, about 18 months ago. I normally check I have my keys before I leave the house but on this day I was daydreaming and forgot them.

I had to wait 3 hours till my brother could get a spare key. I sat in the library and walked the streets.

Yeah - once me and my bf went to the shop, thinking the other person had their keys and when we got back we obviously couldn't get in - worst thing was we had something in the oven! We were contemplating smashing the back door window in lol but we ended up getting a ladder from next door and I climbed through the upstairs window.

Once i i went to get the mail and my door shut and i was locked out for about a hour until my neighbour came and he was in a trade where he knew how to get in using a card so he let me in.

Worse thing was he was super hot and i had a crush since he moved in and was heartbroken when he moved away a few months later.

That must have been very worrying.

Good job the police weren't called because someone thought there was a burglary going on.

A couple of times, yes. I've also locked myself in my friend's bathroom for a good hour

When I was about 9 my parents quite often weren't home when I got home from school, so we had our own key (my sister would have been about 12). One lovely, cold, winter's day when there was about 8 inches of snow on the ground... I was strolling home from school... throwing my key in the air and catching it. Until I wasn't catching it. And it went into the snow somewhere. And we couldn't find it .

So we ended up camped out at one of my sister's friend's house until about 9pm .

I also distinctly remember my dad getting us locked out once when I was maybe 7, and he posted me through a small window that was open so that I could open the back door. Heh. Dunno what his plan was going to be if the back door key hadn't been there...

This.

My nan used to lock the door on my youngest uncle when he was a teenager if he wasn't back in by the time she took her handbag, keys and phone to bed with her (why do nans do this btw?). I used to think it was really funny but it's actually cruel now I'm thinking about it.
