He did seem to totally get Spencer / "Speidi" and if I had to guess... I doubt Spencer has very many genuine friends, especially other males, so with that in mind I guess there's the possibility that he was genuinely upset. Heidi on the other hand, if she was really upset, might have less to do with James leaving and more to do with just seeing Spencer crying? I can imagine in a similar situation, my wife would be really sad if she saw me crying like that about the possible end of a new friendship, I very rarely physically cry for any reason so if I do she tends to tear up too
