If someone calls you a bigot and you aren't then it's down to you to argue your corner, if anyone accused me of bigotry then I'd laugh them off the planet because it's a ridiculous suggestion. I assume the only people who feel that it 'shuts them down' are people who are actually bigoted and can't argue against it.

No matter how much you try, you aren't going to turn 'bigot' 'racist' or any words of it's ilk into dirty words.
