So take a break from the forum and come back another time? The thread aint going anywhere.

Don't dare speak to me like I'm something you've just scraped off your shoe. Have some sodding respect and you might get it in return.

However, if you don't wish to be questioned or explain your points then don't join a discussion. Just a suggestion.

Yes. Perhaps a break would be a good idea Adam. I have seen nothing personal in Marsh's replies. R.

So, what about their families? What if said skilled worker has a husband/wife who is unskilled, what if they have two teenage kids who are also unskilled? Immigrants are unfairly painted in a bad light, 99% of the ones I know are good hard working people, who, even if they are unskilled, contribute more to this country than some British people.

I agree with all you have said, but have you watched some of the benefit programs on Channel5? where you have whole Eastern European families not wanting to work, but only claim benefits? They can claim benefits in any other EU country, but why the UK? and why are the government allowing this when our own citizens are getting sanctioned for the least possible reason?

Genuinely sorry for your loss. It maybe would be a good idea to take some time out to process... I don't mean that it a bad way. I find that this place can add needless stress.

Except that if a family like that existed, they'd be booted out after three months if they couldn't find work....

Channel 5's 'documentaries' are sensationalist and shouldn't be used as evidence of anything ever. Their benefits programming is made just to bait people into getting mad by presenting to them the version of reality they want to see.

Oh like there's no such thing as trashy immigrants. Just like we have our own trashy types, they exist in all nationalities.

Sure, there's trashy immigrants (I can't remember saying there wasn't but oh well, any excuse for you to have a jab at someone I guess) but the law on immigrants claiming benefits is clear. The ones you see on C5 are likely playing up to the cameras for a pay day as with most of the 'subjects' of their 'documentaries'.

You seem to be saying "No foreigners" no matter what. Work or no work, benefits or no benefits. If I were a lesser person I'd think you were racist.
Oooh the R word, as soon as you start to throw that around you lose any credibility.

People should pay in for a number of years, like the rest of us, before they take out. You don't pay in one month, then take out the next.

PLEASE don't shape your view of the world via a channel 5 documentary.

Oh right so does that apply for Brits then who have only just left school, got their first job and literally made one payment of tax? Do they have to wait an "x" amount of weeks/months/years to use services? Or those people who don't earn above the threshold to pay any tax at all, what about those people?

I'll use whatever words I want to where I see fit.

Not the same as their parents likely paid in for years.

There is a reason the government want to restrict access to benefits for immigrants as easy access attracts the wrong types of people and money doesn't grow on trees.

It is restricted.

What if their parents were one of these naughty benefit cheats, would the child be entitled then?

There's countless holes in daft rules like what you're suggesting.

That works both ways. If we just give handouts to everyone regardless there will be consequences for the rest of us as there is not a never ending supply of money, homes and services.

Why are people even wasting time arguing over this, it's happening whether you like it or not

To be fair it's not just the Jezza contestants. I've also seen them on documentaries on Channel 5. There was this one where a guy walked into a job centre and was like "lol can I have benefits I want some" and they were like "Yeh here you go and an Audi" and they gave him an audi.

And if sources like Channel 5, ITV2 and The Sun are reporting on it, I'm not going to argue.
