5 episodes into Amazon now and I'm really enjoying this season. It's very light in strategy and a pretty basic/predictable boot order but it's very fun nonetheless. Lots of likable characters that are shining through. It feels kinda like a light-hearted, funny season of Survivor and the season is going heavy with the character development over anything else which definitely works with this particular cast.

Oh, that works very well. I'm hoping it'll remain entertaining after the merge then as well and this could be one of my all time favorite Survivor seasons.

Also, awww very nice moment with Butch's speech about Christy in episode 6. Even as kind of like a side character, Butch is providing a lot of value to the season. Extremely likable.

Rupert is definitely over-exposed. Just not very entertaining at all to have that big of a role, very bland, and even annoying. He's pretty meh but gets worse in hindsight for me.

I'm really enjoying this merge so far, in Philippines. I've finished two episodes and I'm pretty hooked. The gameplay is interesting and I'm loving the scrambling.

I just wish RC was not the casualty of Penner's idol play. She was probably my favourite up until that point. Jeff, on the other hand, is not so much of a loss, though I do not dislike him as much as I thought I would. His last words were hilarious in a horrendous type of way.

I really loved the literal last minute scrambling before Jeff's blindside. Penner winning immunity was the perfect catalyst to produce such ****ery, haha. Also loved this exchange:

Someone: vote Malcolm!
Someone else: vote Skupin!
Another person: Vote Jeff!

*separate conversation between Carter and Jeff*

Jeff: We have six votes to get rid of Pete!

Also loved Abi randomly showing the hidden-immunity idol after Malcolm presented his. I feel I'm going to enjoy her a lot more, post-RC.

Poopert he *might* be my favorite male of all time??? Complete force of righteous good, hilariously cartoon in persona and behavior, passionately devotes himself to whatever the theme of the season is without a hint of irony, and ultimately not that overbearig in the grand scheme of things? The biggest criticism of him in PI is how he's an overbearing camera*****, and while it's totally a fair point, it just makes me love him even more when he bellows down the beach all WHO VOTED FOR ME?!?!?!?!?! and putting JFP in a chokehold. But Rupert had suuuuch a satisfying downfall and PI was really his only season where he was like this. He was just an amusing side character in his other seasons and that makes him a lot more appealing than people like Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz, who are more or less the same every single episode of every season they are on.

Also as for spoiler tags, as far as I'm concerned if you haven't watched PI yet it is entirely your fault so oh well if you get spoiled!!!

The "WHO VOTED FOR ME?!?" scene is just uncomfortable.

Also, overbearing is actually a really good way to summarize him so yes he is very overbearing in the grand scheme of things.

I just rewatched Kelly winning the reward at f5 in borneo. I remember it being a gamechanging scene for Kelly when she sees the first 10 mins of the season. I remember having a dramatic music behind and Kelly realising how much she have come and thus resulting her getting more confidence and winning rest of the challenges.

But i rewatched the scene it was a simple win with a simple 2 mins celebration. Do i remember incorrectly or was there an extra scene somewhere?

I don't mind the overexposure because it's not like the show coddled him or tried to make him look like something he wasn't. His portrayal was pretty fair and we saw the good and the bad and the audience just fell in love with him anyway And again, his passionate commitment to the season's theme and constant efforts to make sure that good prevails over evil are INSPIRATIONAL, especially when it results in him hating people like Savage and Burton and JFP and Russell Hantz and championing people like Sandra and Christa.

Episode 11 now. I kinda wish I did a cast ranking after each episode because it probably would have the most changes on an episode-to-episode basis out of any season of Survivor that I've seen. I think that's a good thing because there are a lot of things going on and plenty of dimensions to peoples' characters.

Alex going is pretty insane as well (I went from not really caring about him to somewhat liking him to maybe somewhat disliking him in the span of a few episodes). I'm glad Matthew stayed and I did not like him at all until like 1-2 episodes ago but now I suddenly like him a lot. Pretty goofy yet always serious.

Definitely a highly strategic season at a level that has not really been seen yet in seasons 1-5... which is interesting because at first it felt like more of a "fun" season that didn't involve as much strategy lol.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be at the start, but it went downhill about halfway through.
