I hate this line of argument. If social norms are never challenged, bullying will continue. The more something becomes socially acceptable, the less likely it'll be used as ammunition for bullies. If a kid wants to wear a skirt and doesn't care what anyone else thinks, then all power to them.

I agree with this. It takes a pioneer to help something become more accepted, and I feel younger people are becoming more tolerant in this regard. That's not to say boys would not be bullied for wearing a skirt, but the shame should never be put on them if it's their decision.

I hate that the world is like that and people, generally, suck. But that's the reality. People are not nice generally. Unless you're living in some kind of alternative universe where everyone's nice all the time and all the rules are in place and upheld.
