It wasn't about divides, it was about the second-chancers trying to get in with certain "family" members.

I'd say it was tbh, he was just referring to each group as a different "family" rather than using the word cliques etc. It was definitely reinforcing the idea that there are two separate sides of he house though (even though the divide doesn't seem half as apparent nowadays).
