Who else was called "poppadom"? Let's stick to what actually happened and not try to reduce the abuse Shilpa received daily to "all she said was poppadom, it's a food". That's called ignorance, something Jade was guilty of too.
Let's not pretend Jade was accused of racism for daring to use the word "poppadom".
She was called out for deliberately selecting that as a name replacement to insult an Indian woman she didn't like and wanted to mock. And who she, and her friends, continually mocked her name, accent and culture. It wasn't an isolated incident for which Jade was labelled racist or a bully but several days/even weeks of abuse. We all watched it.
This diversionary tactic does not work. It was very simply racism and no amount of trying to trivialise it will change that.
