I buy lots at auction and most charity shops are full of crap that would never sell even at a £1 at an auction. You get the odd thing now and then but mainly its just stuff people do not want (and neither does anyone else).

The main charity shop in our area used to have three big industrial bins in the back, that was easily accessible to the public, without trespassing.
Stuff they couldn't sell, so they threw out. I have to confess I 'rescued' a few very nice ornaments from that bin.

But it would seemed they 'cottoned on' to this and now they have a big padlock. Six in fact. On the bins.
