For me im glad it's not full of arguments this year personally im finding this year a good change and a more subtle bb with more serious issues and controvercial issues going on.

Watching back to back arguments and shagging everynight has been done for so many years now and that's why people tuned out so thank **** the producers have come with something different this year and are letting housemates get on with it instead of the usual crap of causing fake arguments and lining themselves up in order of Twitter popularity.
Oh I didn't know that

I thought the cbb franchise was very popular and would always carry on

It may seem a breath of fresh air to you that it's subtle, but if soaps followed that suit, they would lose ratings for sure. So how can cbb realistically be any different?

Not everyone is going to sit down and watch the show and think to themselves, "Omg I am so excited hearing about gays and trans, and India is the be all and end all of any furores in the bb house

I think everything is looking hunky dory at minute and what could really change the mood?

Even that old boring git Anne isn't kicking off, and I think we was all expecting fireworks from her.

Genuwine may be disappointed that he not gonna get much lovin, but that will pass

What else is going to satisfy the viewers?

Hissy fits and sex romps is addictive to watch, it has in past so can't expect people to suddenly change their ways of thinking and suddenly find this series satisfying when it is the total opposite

I have watched bb and cbb for years. This is not upto par

Can't have a show banging on bout gay and trans and expect people to keep watching.

Read about Simon Cowell and the state of his beloved X-Factor, it's all over the newspapers. people not tuning in. show could be axed

Expectations are evrything
I'm just loving the characters, the conversations, I thought with tonights episode in particular India showed a lot of development and even Shane L I felt we got to know him better, and the task had some funny moments. I dunno I think maybe we just watch it for different reasons, I don't usually like the OTT forced drama and arguments, I find that can become really one note and kind of dull.

But how is it the "Best series in years" Dezzy

No disrespect that you find it amazing, I wouldn't want to change your opinion, but if something works for bb and cbb then why push it in another direction where apart from the Trans issue and India having a severe complex about her wanting to be accepted, there is really nothing else to make the viewing public want to keep watching day in, day out, unless you like a nice peaceful bb house where everyone gets along

BB have shot themselves in the foot if they ever believe that is going to work

its the best series in years because the majority of people on forums such as these think it is, what further proof is needed?

luvjustin I am not being mean

I love cbb and bb. I dont wan it to end, do you

The fights and arguments and situations whereby trouble is brewing will inturn make people want to watch the next episode

Not everybody is an avid bb viewer. there be plenty who watch it for the first time and want to be wowed.

No wow factor for new viewers or for those that have watched it many times like us

BB need to spice things up

They got to keep an eye on the ratings day by day

I predict a decline

Yeah I understand that Jamie, it's what you like. maybe it be great for you if every series had no arguments at all. All getting along and being nice to each other

Maybe the soaps should be the same way. Nobody dying, no arguments, no problems, all happy, and funny stuff to make people laugh

That be great for you

Glad it is good for you

The difference is this isn't a soap! It's the original reality TV EXPERIMENT.

You need to go watch Geordie shore if you want instant gratification and no building of characters or real storylines.

There has been fall outs this series it's just they were far more intillegent and deeper than rowing over hot water or hair straighteners thank god!

Most viewers are finding this a refreshing change especially after last years disasterous year for bb with episodes dipping below 700k....on that fact it shows people were getting very bored of the usual tantrums and fake drama and the producers have done a brilliant job thus far.

This is the first series in ages where ive actually laughed out loud whilst watching.

As opposed to a series full of manufactured drama with storylines set up and agreed on in advance by the endless Reality TV alumni? I tend to tune out of most BB's for large parts after a while because it becomes tedious and boring. I'd take this cast over the likes of Bear or any other Reality rejects any day. CBB in particular was growing stagnant, this series has completely revived my interest in it again.

Arguments are cheap, all the fake drama that has polluted BB in the last few years is cheap. I'd rather have a good mix of interesting people discussing interesting things than watch another series of The Only Way is Chelsea Shore.

Your opinions don't represent the public's any more than mine does. It doesn't make for a good argument to pretend that it does.

If there was lots of arguments, lots of trouble, plenty of exciting situations which got cbb viewers at the edge of their seat who are dying to see what happens in the next cbb episode, then the same thing could be said

You and some may say it's the best show ever.

I doubt that is the case by a long shot

I am falling asleep and to be honest, is tomorrows episode going to be much different to today? or yesterday, or day before

Just don't work..
I'm not saying I don't like arguments at all, I do... when they happen naturally and add something. I just mean I don't need there to be arguments to enjoy it (and most often I just find them really superficial). As long as I find the characters interesting is the most important thing for me. (And I don't watch soaps so can't really comment on them, although I'm not sure the 'nobody dying' criticism should really be translated to BB )

If the ratings fall and the show gets taken off the air then yeah I wouldn't like that, but at the same time if the show was something I didn't enjoy then I wouldn't like that either, so what can I really say to that. Right now it's on the air and they're giving me something I'm enjoying so I can't really criticise it for that.

I don't even remember much about last series of cbb lol, and yeah it wasn't too great. There's been a string of great series prior to that, and when this series started , I was hoping it would be an improvement on last year, but this is like I'm a Celeb is getting. far too tranquil for it's own good

Don't think that the drop in ratings for the last series can be a guide to how the ratings for this series are gonna be

People will watch the show, but how many will lose interest because there ain't much that is going to grab peoples interest?

Just look at who is in this show

If India goes then that's the trans stuff out the way, and we could be lucky and no more talk about the gay and trans community and explaining all that **** that most of us know already and don't need a constant reminder on how they may be offended

So whats left

Very little

this idea of banging on about womens independance aint working

Be lucky if we eva see another series of cbb

When you said "Bear", my eyes lit up

That series was amazing , and Bear really was funny and crazy and people sitting at home watching the series would be wonderig what trouble he is going to cause next haha , he was the type of person which makes me want to watch the show. I think a lot feel the same

Anyway, I am not trying to convert you nor anyone else

I just feel that the new direction cbb is heading whereby peace and tranquility and everybody getting along, is going to send many viewers to sleep and could sway ratings in a downward direction

Change isnt always a moneyspinner

BB has gambled, and could lose

You're in a minority in that opinion tbh. I'm not saying you're wrong, it's your opinion, but this series seems to have been overwhelmingly well recieved so far.

I am honestly loving this years, best its been in years. I like occasional dramas and such but its so much better when its 'real' rather than manipulated. I am sure the proper arguments will be starting soon. Just hope BB don't start the ridiculous 'who said this about you' tasks to try and creata arguments. Much better when there is a huge blowup out of nowhere over someone sitting on a spoon or something.

I understand your point Vicky...but sometimes you have to initiate something to get a reaction otherwise everyone is just going to be appeasing and that isn't going to make great viewing or discussion.
Personally I like a mixture...I have enjoyed the debates..especially when the women went in and they were given topics to debate. That was 'forced' if you like but it gets opinions out there, it gets them going and it creates some drama and interest. I like the 'who said what about who'...because they are things said behind people's backs..it's 'forced' but it was said...so own it..deal with it and let's see how it goes down.

The fact you can't even remember the last cbb tells it all...it was full of drama and yet to date was the least watched as was the summer civilian bb and the one in January was the least watched at that time so the ratings declined every series.

This cbb however has pretty much gained ratings every episode and you saying ratings from a previous series don't affect the franchise in a whole is bollocks. Bb and cbb have a cult following and even they tuned out last year but now seem to be returning due to this cast.

I agree im a celeb is boring as **** but the 2 shows don't compare, bb is far more serious and im a celeb has been boring for atleast 10 years imo.

It's only been 9 days out of a whole month don't worry there will be arguments.

It's pretty boring but the chill atmosphere is starting to grow on me.

I kinda feel like arguments will spark up soon enough. It's like the explosions are just slowly getting in the works right now, ready to go later on. I actually think once India is out of there things will start to explode soon after.

CBB19 & CBB18 (what I've seen of it) >>>>>>>>> this season so far but I'm probably going to give this the edge over CBB20 at least even if it stays relaxed like this.

Ratings for big brother and cbb is created by throwing together a bunch of housemates who are going to argue and make people want to watch the show. If they want to lose money then they are going about it the right way, as that is going to happen

this idea of banging on about womens independance aint working

Be lucky if we eva see another series of cbb
May I suggest for you "The Jeremy Kyle Show" or "Prime Ministers Question"

What sort of arguments are you wanting?

Same, best series in years, interesting conversations, interesting HMs, not the usual young reality star fake story crew....what's not to love?
