No, that's not what I meant. I was saying that neither now considered themselves part of the LGBT Community - nobody was throwing them out?!

In other words they both appeared to be so unbothered that they'd aligned themselves to an arch homophobe, who voted over both their rights to marry a same sex partner, that they didn't consider themselves as Gay. This is referred to as being 'self loathing' - where a person cannot properly come to terms with their 'sexuality' and instead rebels internally and sides with homophobes.
