I agree. Without the judges to provide that safety net for the real talent (although, having said that - Simon's recent decision to go to deadlock on Saturday was disappointing and worrying) all the good looking young boys and those with plausible sob stories will get through over and above those with the actual talent.

No, I think the whole mentor thing should be scrapped so its impartial, I think the mentor thing has lost its novelty now

I agree. Should have independent judges on the show, rather than the idiotic way they have it now. Don't mind the arguments between them, but the mentors can't be asked to make any kind of impartial decision on the show.

I think they should have a vote off week rather than a vote to save, hopefully that way the novelty acts would go (we know who they are!)

No, the vote should stay because if they just went to deadlock then the sing off would be for nothing, but the judges need to stop saving crap people over an actual good singer because that singer was in the bottom two more than once, it doesn't matter, it's still supposed to be about talent

I assume your talking about Rachel?

Simon said "This tells me somthing cause you have been in the bottom 2 three times now!"

Which means the public didnt want her there, and people want Lloyd there!
So it was good that she went as it made way for more talent.

You're verging on the ridiculous with your neverending dismissal of Rachel's singing talent, which is far superior to the majority of the contestants who are left on the show.

The public get it wrong all the time and the judges are there to ensure that the real talent doesn't leave the show, but unfortunately Simon has decided to take leave of his senses in order to earn a fast buck, thereby eliminating any integrity that the show ever possessed. J and E for the win!

And by talent you mean Lloyd? riiiiiight

Just because she was in the bottom 2 doesnt mean people dont want her there, they just wanted their favourite there more, Simon complains about J&E being there and how it's supposed to be about talent, but that result on sunday would have been like eliminating Alexandra over Eoghan, it's ridiculous

i think that,
both the people in the bottom two should sing, as it's the last time for one of them
and then they announce who's going by the public vote

What about announcing the acts in the bottom two on the Saturday night, and then re-open the lines from scratch for just those two acts, and then on Sunday announce who is leaving.

Gives them both a second chance, gets rid of the Judge's vote, more money for ITV/Simon and makes Saturdays a bit more exciting rather than just the performances.

Yeah... get rid of the mentor thing. It makes it a whole lot fairer that judges voting for their own acts.

Patrick, you have said some shite recently, but your statement about rachel going for more talent is the pick of the bunch. Suggesting Lloyd is more talented than Rachel, what show have you been watching?

Do you fancy him or something?

Oh dear.

And please don't respond with the usual bollocks along the lines of 'the public thought otherwise'. The 12 year old girls may have thought otherwise, but to suggest Lloyd is more talented is an absolute joke, and highlights exactly why you are the laughing stock of this forum.

Regards,

alc09.

My cousin (15) supports Lloyd because "hes fit" and has admitted that he isnt the best singer, so even those who vote aren't necessarily voting because hes the best

Exactly.

Anyone else see the text at the bottom of the screen during Xtra Factor on Sunday night, along the lines of:

"I'm only 12 but vote every week for Lloyd because he is so good looking"

It's about whose marketable.

If the show was based solely on trying to find the most talented person with no public vote and just the judge's then Rachel would not have left quite clearly.

But the show is about finding someone who is marketable and be successful from the show. Quite clearly Rachel was not that person, and being in the bottom two three times tells you that. Due to his looks, there is much more of a gap in the market for Lloyd. Argue that it's not right/bad etc all you like, but it's the truth, and that can't be changed.

This is why she left, Simon had to make a decision based on who'd be more successful, and whether you like him or not, that's clearly going to be Lloyd.

Eoghan Quigg was loved by the voters but he's done nothing since leaving the show. Leon Jackson died a death after winning the show. Popularity during your time in X Factor doesn't automatically mean that you'll have a lasting career afterwards, particularly when your vocals aren't up to scratch and you're surviving on looks alone.

Especially as teenage girls are extremely fickle and loose interest once that person is off the show and no longer in the limelight. When the next show comes along - they are all over the next talentless young boy - the last one being just a distant memory.

As I said before - we can't allow these silly girls (and boys) to hijack the show and prevent genuine talent from getting a chance.

No,I think it adds excitement to the results show.I loved Rachel, she was my favourite but at the end of the day the majority of the public obviously diddn`t feel the same.IMO Rachel should have stayed as she has more talent than Lloyd but I can see why Simon went to the public vote,so fair play to him for doing so.
