If people are happy with their weight then so be it.
But seeing as this girl obviously wasnt, I do feel that she or her family could have helped stop, put her on a diet or something.

But sometimes, if your parents are obese then there is not much you can do, people are born big and grow up obese.

Parents of fat teens absolutely have a responsibility to help them loose weight. THey clearly have no idea what they;re putting their kids through.

Yep, and they will (mostly all) suffer low self esteem especially when they go to secondary school and most importantly college. You kind of need high self esteem in college generally, so they could suffer especially with the "slimer girls" who may take the mick out of them.
