In the Hague for War Crimes/Crimes Against Humanity contrary to international law and the UN Conventions?
He clearly led his country to attack another which was posing no offensive threat and caused countless deaths on both sides for no valid reason. He also did this in the knowledge that Iraq posed no offensive threat to the UK, and purveyed the obvious lies fed to him by another warmongering nation simply because we are defensive allies. |

Yes because this war is a vital part of the last few years.
Also, I dont get why a celebrity dying should be any different to any human dying. I hate it when they report a celebrity as breaking news, talk about it for 25 minutes of a 30 minute news programme with the rest of the 5 minite sbeing other storiers inlucing other people that have died (who arent famous). Not to be harsh, MJ was a legend and everything, but during the whole fortnight after his death, there was literally no other news that was reported. |

If this happened prior 9/11 then there would of been outrage of a reporting of a dead soilder in war. Take for example the Vietnam War and the death toll count which was reported to the US civilans. There was a outrage of the reportings of the dead at war.
I think they should be allowed to replort deaths of people at war but only on certain conditions they shouldn't.

Without commenting on the moral aspects of the war, the US governments position was undermined by the people and as such this lead to reversing the stategy of the war, in fact the US had the upper hand militarily and by losing populist support eventually ended up engaging in what turned out to be a fighting withdrawal. The USSR had a similar problem with their little outinginto Afghanistan in the 80's. |

I usually try to stick up for you patrick because some people are sometimes unnecessarily harsh to you and forget your age, but the statements and insults you have made in this thread are absolutely ridiculous, and id advise you to stop before i ban you.

But why should it be lead news. If it is a regular occurrence during war, why is it news?

UK Government never admit we are at war...........otherwise have to declare war on a country under international laws..........it is a 'military action' to protect the local population..........the Americans invented this idea in Vietnam and has been used to circumvent international/UN laws ever since. Deaths are bread and butter because of Sky News/BBC 24/CNN.............they've too many corespondents who would be idle if another british soldier doesn't get shot. The unfortunate truth

As for The Sun question you could have both. If I remember right The Sun usually has a big showbiz story on the top half of the front page and more serious news on the bottom half. |

I don't think it needs to be lead news all the time, only because I think we should have a more positive outlook on news.
Don't shoot me down for saying that..

That was not the original question and nobody would disagree with your thought of respect. I believe the point of the question is whether 2 killed in Afghanistan doing their chosen profession should merit a headline rather than 23 died from neglect/inadequate NHS funding last night
