I find it objectionable that I am being 'told off', how to behave or I cant talk about something on an internet forum by someone who in all probability is half my age.

Thats generally the reason I get banned from forums and why I've been banned 6 times from DS (twice permanently)

Threads get closed because they'll only cause trouble or if they aim to continue a previous argument or drama but mainly if we think they are troll threads or just plain offensive. At the end of the day we're a lot more laid back then your average forum, a lot of regular people here would be permabanned from other forums by now.

I don't close threads often myself, I usually dole out the infractions and forget to clean up the thread afterwards.

Problem is you dont know which member of staff give those infractions unless they PM yopu or you ask who gave and why?

Its no good blaming one member of staff simply because they were mentioned at the time.

I think individual staff should PM the member of the forum they have banned, gave an infraction or warning to, and explain what action they have done and why. Not hide behind the TiBB Staff "I have banned you and have a nice day" account.

Mind you it is very Big Brother, hiding behind a screen of anonymity.

Yup, as I thought, either you are under-exaggerating the reasons or you are deliberately being misleading. You have THREE infractions.


One for insulting another member -creep was correct...randomly calling someone a creep is not on. But it was general attitude in that thread that did it. Insulting another member is against the rules

Second for insulting fans of housemates, despite there being a warning at the top of the forum about this. It is again, against the rules

Third for just being cocky...asking me if I would be serving myself an infraction point, because I punished you for insulting fans of housemates, which is against the rules.

The third could be disputed, but its annoying having people moaning on everytime they get an infraction, when they did ACTUALLY break the rules.

I didn't like this idea of making the infraction givers anonymous and I still don't. I know the mods, particularly Vicky were having some issues with people being abusive when they got an infraction, but couldn't that simply be remedied by giving them an automatic ban if they behave that way or extending their ban?

Now we have an even worse situation where people are just speculating or pointing the finger. The mods have effectively been made unaccountable with this TiBB staff account. Do the admin even know who hands out which infraction/warning and where?

And again, as for this, you dont know when someone else has recieved an infraction.

And I am sick to the back teeth of people moaning that others havent been punished, when 99% of the time, they actually have, but have just decided not to make a song and dance about it.

Yeah, admin and other mods can tell who gives what to who.

it still shows up the way it used to.

And yeah, part of the problem was the abuse that we were all getting with nearly EVERY infraction that we were giving out. It gets so tedious and it is impossible to do your job when you are getting hundreds of PMs a day just moaning.

Also, a lot of members agreed that we should have a separate mod/posting account. So TiBB staff appeared

I dont see any reason for people to be speculating about who gave them the infraction anyway, as if you received one, you broke a rule. As Dezzy has said loads of times, if someone receives one that they feel is UNFAIR, IE they did NOT break a rule(not, '***** did that and didnt get an infraction but i did'...or 'it wasnt even a bad rule break')...PM any member of staff and it will be reviewed, or explained in full.
