I'd love to see a theme where they go 'Back in time' and sing one song they sang in their XF time.

From Auditions, Bootcamp, Judges Houses and The Live Shows.

That way we'd get Cher singing a new and improved version of Turn My Swag On, and Wagner could sing LURV SHACK! LA LA LURV SHACK!

Terrible theme - infact most of them have been terrible this year. If we're having themes like Rock and The Beatles, why can't we have Big Band Week?

Rock week is horrible, hopefully they'll make Wagner's music real loud so we can't hear him.

What a excellent choice, love this song, & i think it would suit Matt down to a tea.

Mary doing Brass in Pocket I love that song, and her voice is well-suited to it.

There is a massive loophole here and Mary could do Mariah Carey-Without You (originally a rock song). But that songs an omen on this show, if you perform it you're either eliminated that night or you win the whole thing

Yeh. They've no contacted me yet to discuss payment for being awesome, but I'll split it with you when they do. Also, I'll use my popularity to get that Xtra Factor nob-jockey sacked so she'll be wagging her eyebrows on the tills at tesco.

O, and I'll tell Cheryl to cheer the ******* up or she's sacked.

But I won't let it go to my head.

I think many people think of ROCK and picture Heavy Metal and blokes with long hair, but Rock covers many artists with varying styles.
The main thing to distinguish Rock is that it is usually associated with Electric & Bass Guitars, Drums and possibly Keyboards.

Journey fall into that catagory and is why McEldery did ok with Dont Stop Believing. Its not so much the vocal..its the music behind it. Heart were a group with a female vocal that could sing very soft songs, but were very much a Rock Band.
I think Tina Turner could be described as Rock for certain songs.
The Pretenders (Brass in Pocket) originated from Punk i believe.

Wiki describes sub-genres of Rock as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, and punk rock, which just about covers most of what the current XF acts can do.

I would've liked to see Rebecca or Matt do Athlete-Wires and Cher do Coldplay- Yellow. Its a shame Treyc still isn't in to do Creep again. And although I hated them and they were crap, would've liked to see that girlband do A Punk by Vampire Weekend.

Verily. I used to really like her but I've gone right off her this year. I think she's starting to believe her own hype. I'm not a hater, but it's just how it strikes me.

The 2 rumours i've seen suggested what Cher might be singing on some websites are:

Numb and My Generation or Walk This Way and Just Like A Pill.

The Beatles & Elton John are pretty relevant through their achievements in music and their influence in new artists and I'd say Rock is too wide a genre to ever be considered irrelevant.

I'm liking these themes, tis nice to see X-Factor covering different music than the usual cheesy pop which there has been enough every year and in the charts too.
