He is also taking the risk that this girl might just decide to leave him. She has nothing to lose at this point really, whereas he has already sacrificed a lot to be with her.. actually it doesn't put the relationship on stable ground at all really, having to carry that around their necks. I am not sure only because of the student/teacher thing.
You cannot help you who fall in love with or become strongly attracted to, age is just a number, I am 20 but know people in their 40s and 50s who are far more young in outlook than some teenagers and 20+ year olds . However, in this instance, a teacher does have to keep a distance from pupils,so maybe it's an unwise move as to that issue. If they are happy,(also he has quit his job),plus it's their choice then no harm done really except to the family now broken up but often love or strrong attraction causes people to act in a throwing caution to the wind action. Actions that may be massively regretted later on,especially if things go sour between these 2 in the near or distant future. Last edited by joeysteele; 03-03-2012 at 11:54 AM. |

That teacher guy should never have been a teacher.
Aren't they meant to help students learn and not fall in love with them? |

Having a crush on a teacher is normal. It's wrong when the teachers have crushes on the students.

I agree with this. Teachers are supposed to be safe, they have a hand in raising and educating the children(non-adult) not getting romantically involved with them.

Normally I agree with you almost 100% Niamh, but from what I have come across even in my own family there are couples, who really do love each other but life is very difficult and their relationship is too between them.
However, no matter what, they stick by each other and have an almost unbreakable bond between them. I have come across that too in University as to staff there particularly as to 'not approved of' relationships by their friends or family, possibly even too by society. If the feeling/love is there though, virtually nothing will stop them getting together no matter the question marks as to the relationship. Having said that,I am not in love with anyone yet, maybe I never will be, I love loads of people in a family/friend like way but in no relationship so I bow to your greater knowledge with the fullest respect on this issue. I agree with Niamh on this. I do believe we have control over who we fall in love with. I don't believe love is 'instant' and I don't believe there is only one person on this earth we are capable of loving. We have attractions and opportunities and it is a consious decision to act on them. Attraction is one thing..love is another. There are many things I disagree with in this particular story...the betrayal of trust and deceipt of his wife and family being the first
