To say that it can't possibly exist is a bit small minded, that said it's probably such a small thing which is why you never hear about it!

It probably exists, but seeing as heterosexuality is the norm in society the minority of people that are 'heterophobic' is probably so small that it isn't noticeable.

I see what you're saying but the name's always been a little bit ridiculous. Homophobia and heterophobia do exist but they have nothing to do with phobias...just hatred of someone because of their sexuality...

I think they call them phobias because in a way people that are homophobic or hetrophobic are afraid of that sexuality.

The only time I have experienced this is when some mates of mine decide to take me into a gay club/bar (which I would rather not do lol) but to keep the peace I go along with their choice and once inside and on the dance floor it don't take long for a gay bloke to start eyeing us over and I did get approached by one gay bloke and I immediately made it clear that I wasn't interested and said that I am straight. But I did get a dirty look from him as though to say, what am in there for? As if straight people shouldn't be in there which is very wrong.

Me and my lad got turned away from a gay bar once for being straight...was quite irritating and he quite rightly asked the bouncer if it would be ok for us to turn away a gay couple from our bar (well it wasnt our bar, but his dads...same thing really) then our mates who were with us (who are gay...the reason we were out round the gay bars in the first place) joined in and started having a go at the bouncer too saying he was being ridiculous.

Thats been the only problems ever on the gay scene though. Much better night than round the 'straight' bars IMO. You get no trouble or anything and the atmosphere is generally much better.

I think it exists but not many people hold those views imo.

And just like homophobia I think it's disgusting and that people need to grow up that hold those views.

There was a story a while ago about a popular gay bar in LA that decided to ban hen parties until gay marriage is legal. They used to have a lot of hen parties because they had really hot go-go boys so a lot of women chose it for their hen parties. The owners said that it was offensive to have heterosexuals celebrating a right that gay people don't have.

Do you guys think that was heterophobic?
