I agree. Before Daley assaulted her, the public was against Hazel. She was viewed as a home-wrecker. She broke the girl-code by openly flirting with someone who has a girlfriend, and female viewers do not like that.

After Daley assaulted her, some viewers were sympathetic. I feel bad for her for what happened to her in the safe house, however, I dislike her as a person, and that won't change just because something bad happened to her.

It's not even that. Charlie pulled dexter into the shower and tried to get her to kiss him. He (at least as far as the housemates are concerned) has a girlfriend. NO ONE CARES. Yet it's exactly the same thing Hazel is demonized for. Allegedly. Verdict: it's an excuse, people just have it in for her and use any "reason" that seems plausible.

No. I mean the actual girl-code... which is a set of unwritten rules decent girls live by.. one of which is not scamming on another girl's man.

If you want my opinion on Daley... he's ten times worse than Hazel because he was the one who was in the relationship. He was the one who made a commitment/promise to one woman, then went on to behave shamelessly with another woman.

Yes, but the HM's may not know the full extent of her flirting with Daley. For example, Dan wasn't around a lot of the time that she was doing it, and the others individually weren't always there either. When the other HM's did see it, they wouldn't know what was actually being said between the 2 of them.
We know, because the highlights concentrated on it, and Gina and Dexter know as they watched from the safe house.
I think Dan is just trying to work out why his friend is hated so much, and isn't a big leap for him to think that D&G saw things he and the other HM's didn't and he could well think that they are targeting Hazel for that (which is partly true!)

Of course. But he couldn't know the extent of it or whether D&G, being popular with the public, could have swayed outside opinion by their reactions in the safe house.

This is VERY interesting. By saying this Dan is acknowledging that thoughts can be embedded into others (depending on how they are said). That being so, might it be a possibility that just before noms are due Dan goes around 'embedding thoughts' into other HM's for who to nominate?

I can understand this doing his head in, although as a detective, he might, unfortunately, be used to women being blamed and judged following rapes and other assaults.

I agree, he must know that people being people will be keen to find blame in hazel for what "happened to" hazel. He's been keen not to say so to her face though even when she's thought it. Mainly because it's a really awful, damaging opinion to hold.

OK Yes but couldn't Detective Dan also reason that there may be things Hazels not saying ! Surely he didn't take people at face value as a police officer , so why has he just taken Hazel's word ?

Not quite but the love triangle edits have ruined this weeks viewing pleasure.

Luckily for Dexter he doesn't have to rely so heavily on the love triangle because he's a big character. For Charlie/Callum it's all they have so bare the brunt of my dislike overall.

I'm a Gina fan and I don't dislike Hazel because Gina does. I'm just saying, more of the younger audiences will be impressionable towards the fact that Gina doesn't like Hazel.
