In all seriousness, I think Dezzy is actually one of the best mods, he does his job well and from what I've seen has always been as fair as possible and just because he has strong opinions and voices them it doesn't lessen his mod status.

..Niamh doesn't get spoken to the way that Dezzy does, she doesn't get the hostility that he does ...no mod gets the hostility and aggression aimed at them that Dezzy does...

If you feel that dezzy is an awful mod please pm james and state why and if you have examples give them, i know its hard as he deletes most but to keep tibb alive do your best

Since somebody opened the can of worms and I also feel there is some reasonable tension here, I will get this off my chest...

I do think Dezzy needs to tone down the aggressive tone some, but only coming from a deescalating standpoint as a mod. Other than that, couldn't be arsed their opinion or what's done by staff here.

Mods can't always do right (much less always be right) and they get their fair share of crap thrown their direction on a daily basis. By some people's standards, they can never do right, and anyone who accepts that position has to accept that there it takes quite a bit of thick skin to do the job and unfortunately will receive some form of grievance for doing so. You can't take everything personally when in that position. A good mod shouldn't necessarily punish/globally target people for speaking their minds, but correct by being a better example... I'm surprised some posts aren't moderated more often...

Also I prefer deletions and posts being edited to having those posts remain and continuously draw out negative energy. In all the forums I'm admin-ed or participated in, when you let a locked thread hang around with personal assaults and then don't remove them, it tends to cause some problems. As long as it's handled consistently, appropriately and with great care is all that matters.

That said, people who are very emotionally involved in certain threads probably should not be moderating them and should delegate. I don't know if this is happening, but I would feel far less comfortable speaking my mind in threads with certain mods are present... if I ever got to that point where I felt targeted, I would probably be turned off and just leave the forum... people on the internet are so overly personal sometimes and I just don't think it's worth the anguish.

Anyway, thanks to mod team if this is read. I appreciate that it is a difficult job and don't stress the haters, Dezzy included... some people just don't get along. Happens more than we'd like sometimes...

Dezzy is one of the nicest people on this site, he only gets **** because he takes no prisoners and speaks his mind - just because he's a mod doesn't mean he should have to hold back.

It actually pisses me off how much flak he gets because he genuinenly only treats people the way they treat him from what I have seen.

Tbf to Dezzy, when I was a mod, he was one of the only few that actually did his job.

(This was way back when we had some mods who just wanted the status and is in no way an attack on the current mods)
