Here's the Wiki page.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Snowflake
'The term "Generation Snowflake", or its variant "Snowflake Generation" is thought to have originated in the United States.[5] It came into wider use in the United Kingdom in 2016,[3] particularly after Claire Fox, founder of the think tank the Institute of Ideas'published a book called I Find That Offensive!

'The term "snowflake generation" was one of Collins Dictionary's 2016 words of the year.[10] Collins defines the term as "the young adults of the 2010s, viewed as being less resilient and more prone to taking offence than previous generations"

Hmmm.... I'm very concerned that this 'think tank' and others are perpetuating these buzzwords to denigrate whole generations, and in turn that is harnessed and then captioned by a dictionary definition.

It is interesting that in every generation youth who inspire a movement or share an opinion on social, civil or global justices they are labelled and mocked.

The fact you're very concerned by this, you may be making their point for them.

What I have concluded from this thread by the way, is that no one has any clue what it means and there isnt a general consensus on what it means even amongst like-minded individuals.

Fascinating really .

I feel like "easily rattled / offended" is probably the closest to being accurate. Which confuses me, since as far as I can tell, it's a term that people only resort to using when they are rattled or offended

The mods like me because I'm the most sensible and reasonable member on the site . I can't believe how jelly you are about it tbh. I'm sure if you work a little harder on you attitude problems you'll get your own certificate at the next assembly. You can do it champ.

what is the word for folk who never debate the subject of the thread but just pick holes in the op for starting it?

That needs a collective name...

If you're talking about your own threads, I would think "clickbait cynics" would probably be a decent collective term?

But I'm not in that generation..... Are you seriously suggesting that this woman had reduced anyone of any age having an opinion on anything to a 'snowflake'

Rubbish, it's a nonsense word like SJW, PC, snowflake... meaningless words that can be used as a tool to counter any reasoned debate, in the absence of a competent response.
