I actually like religious people, better to believe in something then nothing I always say, but I don't like intolerant control freak cultists that employ grooming tecniques.

Saying that though, he has provided us with a lot to talk about this season, so I don't begrudge him his place in there right now.

I agree with that, very much so.

You don't understand your own heritage apparently and David does.

First off - You SHOULD pick and choose what bit APPLY TO YOU and which apply to Israelites and laws which were ONLY FOR THEM and for NOBODY ELSE (which includes David).

First off .a) In the same way you have basic reading comprehension skills you apply to all kinds of literature you could then apply those same basic skills to reading a bible.
When an author is describing real people in real places in real time then you accept the text is 'literal' (as people use that term now),
and,
when an 'allegory' is being communicated then you simply take that as 'allegorical'.
A poem or a parable MAY be based on 'real people in a real time' but you understand it's meant to communicate the lesson or wisdom or 'idea' and not serve as 'literal information about the people in the poem'.

The vast majority of this is not complicated even children can do this seemingly 'instinctively' once they have basic reading skills,
but,
certainly adults ought to be able to do it and easily sail through 90%+ of the Bible without acting 'confused' over what the text is doing.

But anyways, nice job being completely ignorant of your own history. Even David knew better.
He, correctly, did not pick was was NOT offered to him in the first place.

Also, M-Theory and its hypothesis of 11 dimensions actually gets past the necessity for there to have to be a beginning of the dimension we know as time.

"there are as many holes in the science as there are in the religious explanation"

Even if that were true and it is not, the difference is that one is open to debate and improvement by one and all and the other shut its doors to any debate 2000 years ago

get real ffs

I guessed that the post you answered LT was written by that ranter, El Proximo. So excuse me while I hijack your post to reply...

El Proximo, I put you on ignore because, without even having exchanged half a dozen words with me, you told me that because I am a Jew, I think I should be able to control everything. Maybe you'd like it better if I stitched on a yellow Star of David.

You seems to have taken a really deep dislike to me and I find your post insulting in the extreme. I don't know why you should feel free to address my perfectly valid post in the way that you did and accuse me of being ignorant of my own history. I wasn't even talking to you - why would I? Maybe you'd prefer me not to write anything about the Bible because my own knowledge seems to be a little more profound than yours because mine, unlike yours, doesn't come from Google and Wikipedia.

I'd rather you didn't reply to my posts in future. I do not converse with bigots and racists.

Got a feeling that we agree on one thing - a pseudo psychiatrist masquerading as someone who thinks he knows what he's talking about!

.
Uh no, as I clearly and correctly explained to you - the haircutting law was given to Jews.
This is BASIC and nobody needs to go to google or wikipedia to understand this very basic concept.

You didn't. You mistakenly believed that David was 'not choosing' to adhere to a Law which was NOT for him. He shouldn't 'pick it'.
Not unless he wants to become an Israelite and live under the Law. Obviously he doesn't.

You blew that badly and made a mistake. You 'pwned yourself'.
Fine.
But don't try and compensate by pretending to have 'profound understanding' when you can't even get THAT right lol

I know haircut laws were given to Israelites and only to them and not to anyone else.
David seems to know this too.

Jewish Princess up there didn't. That is no crime in itself but going about judging people by false and ignorant standards is annoying. So I called her on it.
So what?
Forums are for learning too.

Yes it is... except I have one more thing to say to him but can't bring myself to click on his silly post so I'm hijacking yours fingers... hope that's okay.

I'll type this slowly El Proximo because I don't think you can read very fast.

Dave has talked about the Creation (Old Testament) and he also directly quoted from Leviticus (Old Testament) when he said that "homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God". So... he either believes that the homosexuality thing he quoted to be true or he doesn't. If he does, then the bit about the hair cutting IS ALSO IN LEVITICUS, so why doesn't he believe that too. Cherry picking. Is that plain enough?

Now I'm asking you as politely as I can, don't address me any more. You offend me.

I don't put him on ignore as his posts give me a good chuckle... Either a wind up merchant or extremely deluded, can't quite work out which...
