I loved Big Brother 8 at the time.

But it's VERY VERY VERY over rated on here and by Channel 4.

The launch night twist was a complete and utter joke.

The housemates, Jesus it was that boring they put in about 30 Housemates can't even remember them all.

I would call it more underrated than overrated tbh.

Chanelle I agree sometimes tried to be like Nikki but Charley was just Charley. If Charley was never on BB8 there never would've been Alexandra on BB9. There never was or will be another Charley, that girl is in a league of her own. She was to BB8 what Nikki was to BB7 though, she was the star of the show. The things she would say were so unbelieveably pretentious and cocky you could hardly believe it was real, that's what made her so funny and entertaining.

I personally loved the launch night twist because with all the females in the house for the first week there was SOOO much drama and bitching, I loved it. Female housemates are usually more entertaining and dramatic than male housemates anyway.

BB8 definitely did not cause BB9 to have lower ratings. Look at the statistics. BB8 had consistent ratings throughout, where as BB9's dropped. BB9 had higher launch night ratings though. This pretty much signifies that people enjoyed BB8 enough to come back for BB9. BB9 has nothing to blame but itself for it's ratings.

Before watching BB8 I expected it to be **** but I was suprised by how entertaining it was, it is definitely underrated. BB10 is the most underrated though. I finished that series in less than 2 months, faster than any other series of BB i've watched. I don't think it ever got dull or boring, even the final week was entertaining.

BB3 is tragically low while BB9 & 10 are way too high. 10's the worst series I've ever suffered through and 9 was only decent but it was sandwiched between two bad series so it comes off a lot better then it actually was. BB1 & 2 deserve at least the middle too. The top 3 I'm happy with.
