You are not going to change Ann or history.

Accept that she will not change, try not to over analyse or you will just go round in circles.

Ann is not the worst, her day has passed and she is an elderly lady on a TV show.

Is she really worth all this angst and dragging up old hurts because it doesn't hurt her it only hurts you. Xx

And I wouldn't try to. My point was about Amanda and Wane’s constant backing of someone who thinks the way they live their lives to be abhorrent.

When has she said it's abhorrent?

They’re not backing her views, they’re backing her as a person

They’re understanding and being tolerant of the fact that people can find common ground despite conflicting political standpoints, which is something Shane j needs to learn to do

But your views ARE who you are! The way we see the world is everything we are. I will keep bringing this back to the race allegory; if she had voted against black rights would you be defending two people of colour who chose to stand by her.

Like you I received an infraction for a very innocuous comment in reply to the same OP on this thread, asked mods for an explanation but no reply.

Amanda and Wayne are more than their sexuality, skin colour, gender identity, billing address, eye colour

Trivial things like that are all that Shane has going for him hence why it now defines him

No I still would not find it odd. Funnily enough, people with all kinds of views can get along pretty well whilst also disagreeing with each others views.

Whataboutery annoys me a lot tbh

I'm the "B" in "LGBT" but if I was expected to be an "example" of anything should I get in BB, I'd hate it. It doesn't matter that I'm LGBT, no-one cares these days. It's like saying I should represent people who wear Converse.

This is why there are so many problems.

Because only young good looking people who constantly shout their gender or sexuality around the streets are seen as role models

It makes sense - we don't say "I'M A LOUD PROUD BLUE EYED PERSON, GET OVER IT!" do it, because blue eyes don't affect us as a person. Centering your personality around being gay makes as much sense as doing so around your eye colour.

Ok but like ur doing this community damage if u think all that people should be about is their sexuality or their views about sexuality

People are more complex than that have u ever interacted with dynamic human beings

I didn’t say it was ALL we are. I said it’s a big part. And I honestly believe it is. Like I already stated if you spend 17/18 years in the closet. Denying who you are. Then having to come out. Then finding your tribe. It’s going to affect your life.

Why does your "tribe" need to change from the set of friends and family you already have? I don't know a single person through "being LGBT", but I do have LGBT friends I picked up along the way through living my life.

Ik a lot of gay people who only hang around with other gay people, me myself I haven’t let it really dictate social groups or anything because I don’t think it should. People are people. I like a person for their whole package not just a common sexuality

Once again we agree but the trouble with a lot of gays who bang on about wanting equality is that they actually want the opposite, they hate the idea of being equals, they want to stand out as being different and be given special treatment, they will try and cause division at every chance they get, bleating on about their rights all the time, they neither want to or have any intention of fitting in, they are some of the worst bigots I know and like Shane J they do not represent me.

I so agree, they ask for equality, get it and then want to stretch the boundaries and become special.

No one is special.

“I’m fine dear, nothing to do with me” The attitude stinks. She has lived her life as somewhat of a pampered celebrity so yeah, maybe she hasn’t been affected so much but the rights she now holds certainly have.

Shane mentioned women’s rights and the Amanda’s first response is “and men’s rights!” Says it all really. She’s the sort of person to respond to “black lives matter” with “all lives matter”. Missing the point completely.

It all makes me very sad, especially coming from older gay people.
You have struck the nail on the head eloquently. Yes, had Ann got her way there would have been NO equal marriage nor age of Consent for Gay men. I cannot believe how both Wayne and Amanda shove their heads in the sand. They're a disgrace to the LGBT Community to which neither clearly now belong!

So people who are not haters are thrown out of the "community".

I think the implication was more that they have purposely removed themselves from said community
