The thing is, that's a position that a LOT of people legitimately hold. It's a bit nuts.

…yeah, that is true…also ‘if I don’t like them, they’re not famous’ is probably also a variation on that…that though has been how it’s been since the beginning in that we’ve had the ‘reality TV celebrities aren’t real celebrities…’…when reality TV has been a growing thing for many years and created much fame for its stars…and now that’s all been joined with YouTube and Tik Tok celebrities because these are all different forms of the same thing that creates ‘celebrity’ aren’t they…I admit that I’m a social media ignorant so I have no idea who are big on those platforms …(…which is why I like to be introduced to them on something like BB…)…and the very nature of the platforms that these celebrities dominate…?…would indicate that they would have huge followings…

I only know her from Dance Moms really. I also spend too much time online and find her current effort to do a Miley rebranding amazingly entertaining in all it's car crash glory. But, I never watched any of her cartoons or TV shows and it's not like I have followed her music or bought a bow, so I do get why some in the UK who might engage with British traditional media more might not know her.

But I do think that we should accept that a person can be famous and a celeb with us personally not knowing them from mainstream stuff here in the UK. It's a big ole world out there.

I wonder how many have heard of Maddie Ziegler?
Is that Rachel's Sister?

No, the dancer that was in Sia's MVs. She was a Dance Moms kid as well.

She seems like a sweet kid. Can't understand the hysterical fuss though.

Just googled her music out of curiosity and the first song i see was Karma on youtube. Anyway, see pic, her popularity is obviously overinflated. 500k subscribers isn't that much for someone supposedly so popular. The dislikes don't bode well either.

I actually think she seems alright in the house though.

I was working for a shop which sold her books back in like 2016/17 and they were massive sellers but I've hardly heard much of her since then. I'm intrigued to see how she is now because it's not easy to cope with that level of fame when you're so young.

I can accept that she's very famous but I don't think she's the type of celebrity who does well in CBB. There's often a strong amount of nostalgia in this show and the celebs who do well are people who were massive back in the day and we get to see a new side of them here or people love a redemption arc for celebs who had a bit of controversy. Also it's still a British show so most viewers will have that bias towards UK names

You are right, that's generally very true, but then there's always Chantelle...
