Easter eggs are Pagan, they're the symbol of the fertility goddess Eostra (where the word Easter comes from). Another of her symbols is the hare, which pagans believes could cross between the human world and the realm of the Gods... and he became the Easter bunny.

All religions have always hijacked other religions. My local church when I lived in London was Norman, built on a Saxon site, which was built on a Roman site, which was built on an Ancient British site.
