She got on well with Clare. The BB psych show showed a clip of her body language when Clare entered and branded Mel as jealous. BB had already edited Mel as a flirt, inventing a relationship with Tom that never was.

As Mel said in Narinder BB2's book:

"I am a flirt but not the brazen hussy they made me out to be...I had to watch all the shows back-to-back to make sense of it all and it slowly dawned on me - they had just showed me massaging men all the time.

"The editing was amazing. Because there hadn't been another Big Brother we just thought it would be a fair representation of what we did in the house. We were all totally naive about the whole thing.

"And then a producer of the show called me a few days later and asked if I was alright. I said to him 'What the hell have you done to me? I'm the most hated woman in Britain. He said something like 'When Nick left we needed another fall guy..."
