Default Who really feels sorry for Shayne Ward??

I really dont think Simon gives a **** about him, same can be said with Steve, and Leon as well (but he failed).
Shayne was doing very well but it seems like he is trying to do everything by himself. He does really good songs and his material has been very good and brilliant songs have not been released.

Why does Simon prefer the female winners? It seems like he doesnt want to know anything from the male singers.

Tbh, say what you want but Shayne is the 2nd most successful XF winner behind Leona. He's got 2 platnuim albums, and 2 5x platinum Irish albums, and about 3x platiuim albums sold in Asia.
Also out of 7 of his songs released, 6 of them went Top 10. Also, when he releases a song, the music channels always pick up on it, as people actually like his music, and the few times where he is releasing, loads of people request his songs. Also Joe is going to the US yes?? Shayne Ward would do so well over in the US compared to most winners besides LEONA.

Also out of ALL of the XF winners singles, his one has beat all of the others in sales and downloads. He sold 1.3m of the song. I dont think any of the otehrs have surpased 1m.

His second album was ranked number two on Channel 4 list of the 100 Best Albums of 2007 and was one of the bestest selling album of 2007./

Maybe im not allowed to say thos, but my friends brother who workds for Syco is friends with Shayne and has said that people over there feel like Shayne is at the bottom of all of their lists.... a bit harsh.
His new album will be released in March Im sure.... looks like he will have to do all the promoting alone.

I would great satisfaction if he gets a higher chart position than Leona if she releases a song at the same time, just to spite Simon.
I hope his new album is good.

Shayne was good! Be nice to see him release a new album

Apparently Michelle McManus is releasing an album too?
So I read somewhere.

Shayne's easily my favourite X Factor winner of all time. But yes, I do feel sorry for him.

But it's not surprising when arguably the biggest artist to come out of any talent show wins the year after him.

Looking forward to his new album though, but unfortunately I don't think it'll sell well - and he'll be dropped.

He had the misfortune of winning before Leona, after she won the way the winners were treated was different. He's only really had one album as his first was a covers album and his second did decently but he had to compete with Leona which made him look worse.

I don't feel sorry for him as he still has an album coming out and a record contract but he must be a bit bitter over it all.

The thing with the female singers is probably to do with the fact that for the past few years the ladies have been doing well in the industry, plus Leona and Alex both had a niche that was really prominent so it made it easier to choose a direction for them and market them as such.

If we look at the male winners with the exception of 1 or 2, none of them really have a direction. Steve was generic, Shayne did repetitive pop/R'n'B and whatever was the flavour of the month. Leon had a direction but they tried to make his swing style into something that would be successful in the singles charts which it would never be as it's not compatible with most of the main audience that buys singles (I.E teenagers/young people). Joe's gonna be interesting and I can see why Simon wants to take him to America as they'd eat up a 'disney'-esque star or whatever he wants to do with Joe. It'll be intriguing to see if he's a success here though, considering the size of the audience that watched the final and the number of votes I'd probably say so.

His second album did very well IMO, he got to #2 just behind Leona, who has just previously won, so it was obvious she was going to beat him.
But TBH, I see loads of people are waiting for this album, and if its good, it will sell very well. Would be brilliant to get to #1 to show that he is still got that ability.

A head to head with him and Leona and him wining would be the best thing. They do treat him like crap.

And Harry he isnt poorly recieved, on the forums i have read that people think he is the best winner and the most likeable. And I said before everytime a song of his comes out, its always requested and always plays on the music channels, which tells us that people do like to hear from him. He was doing so well before Leona won her year and pipped him to #1 (but that was obvious), but even after, he did come up with 3 more Top 10 songs after Leona won.

He doesn't get alot of exposure at all really, Simon has never brought him to sing on X-Factor has he?

Yes, this backs up my point.
Leona and Alexandra are the only 2 winners who have appeared in a different series.

Leon failed so it was obvious as he had no single to promote, but at the time that XF3 live shows began, Shayne had songs released, but not even once did Simon consider to invite him to perform.

Don't worry, I have too! I just definitely remembered he performed at least once. Just checked and Tom's right, he did in XF4.

I agree with the OP.

I was watching somthing like '100 Best selling Christmas songs of the noughties' last night, and Shayne came #2 with the amazing 'Thats my Goal'.'

I think its unfair how Simon never ever ****s up about Leona.
Tbh Leona is VERY Over rated shes not that good, Alexandra will flop soon.

JLS Seem to be more liked than Alex, probley because they dont have big heads.

Shayne was the best winner, He was loved by alot of fans.
And I really agree with what you said about his album, I really hope it gets to #1 and does very well on the charts.

Simon will be annoyed that he didnt give the poor lad more attention.

Shayne >> Any other XF Winner.

At least he hasnt got it in his head that hes the next Beyonce (like Alex) or think hes too good to talk to any fans (Leona)

Shayne is great but being a guy in a female dominated industry basically leaves him at the bottom tbh.

I do!
I used to be such a huge fan of his, but his material's not been the best. Unfortunately, Simon has him bottom of the pile beneath Leona, Alexandra, Joe, & Susan Boyle.
It's stupid, Shayne, IMO, is the best XF winner and could be so successful if Simon would market him better. I really hope his next album does well.

Why feel sorry for him? You have no idea what his future plans are - and I dare say he has considerably more money in his bank account than you!

I feel more sorry for Leon. Minimum promo (XF performance yah but that was it), and dropped. He had a stellar debut too.
