..I hardly ever use escalators..usually use the stairs
..I think I've only ever used them on the London Tube..and I just stay put

Don't try it on a crowded escalator - other people won't like it, but (relatively) empty ones at shopping malls are good .....

Would depend how impatient I was, but normally no. I can stay put on escalators, it's the travelator/moving walkway ones I can't keep still on. Like the ones you get at certain stations or at airports. They are so bloody slow. I have to walk on those.

If loads of people are standing behind me on them, I usually just stand there - to piss them off, because literally everyone walks up/down escalators.
