..I think that knowing their names gives them a kind of martyrdom, which they should never have for what they did and it doesn't change anything, so I don't feel the need to know a name...

I'm sure there has been a few documentaries about them on the discovery channel, giving details about one (or more I can't remember) took flying lessons before the attack there was more obviously but it was a while back and I just can't remember.

It's weird - people should actually pay them some attention, as it's their radicalisation that has the most to say. What makes well educated, and westernised Muslims do this? How Can they have been enjoying American strip clubs one day, then flying planes into buildings the next? Understanding that psychology is crucial.

..suicide bombings are the extreme of 'sheep behaviour' though so I'm not sure there is any psychology to try to understand because surely, they're 'mindless'....

That does these people a real disservice. There is no braver thing on earth than giving your life for a cause like that, even if you believe in an afterlife.

It's a really complicated issue, and is separate from the desperation of suicide bombers.

Shame that doesnt happen with other disasters tbh. Normally the rags cant wait to rip apart the people who did it, repeatedly. And often before they are even found guilty of doing it.

..yeah, that is one way of looking at it, I can see that and I’m sure that psychologists have and will continue to do so...and certainly they must have been ‘fearless’ to do what they did or at least be able to overcome what fears they may have had, which ‘brave’ people obviously do...but to me, being brave would be a ‘hero’ and maybe they are heroes to their cause, but that cause extinguished the lives of many people and devastated even more lives..not people who were enemies in a war/conflict situation, a survival situation but lives of people who were just living their day in the way they always did and their families who loved them, expected them to come home that evening...children that will never grow to know a parent..that for me is ‘understanding’ that is deserved... if that does them a disservice, then what understanding of psychology to the families of those people and what they were about to do to them did they show..their empathy/compassion/their humanity was lost and buried underneath their cause and for me, with that, their rights to be understood as well....to have any bravery at all, would have been to have looked into the eyes of the families of their victims...

10 times as many people are killed by nursing neglect in this country per annum as were killed on 911....maybe we need some perspective and take a look at tragedies closer to home

War crimes happen regardless. We unnecessarily bombed the ****** out of Germany at the end of WWII, wiping out tens, if not hundreds of thousands of innocent Germans out of spite, and those hijackers believed they were at war.

I'm not sticking up for them, because it was a terrible act, but trying to understand it should be our first course of action, rather than George Bush blanketing out - "they hate us for our freedoms".

I'm not sure using WW2 as an analogy is the way to go on this one. It's quite a different thing.

That's because most of the so called terrorists named by the CIA are all alive and well, one of the many, many many inconsistencies with the official 911 story...!!!

Check out 911 truth or 1,000 other similar websites trying to get behind the truth about 911...!!!

what do you mean by 'the truth?'

what is so hard to understand about a group of terrorists flying a plane into two of the most important buildings in the world?

not only is there lots of footage of it being planned, but they admitted to it as well.

Save yourselves time and don't bother with the 9/11 truther movement. It has no relationship to reality, and is impervious to facts.

I would lose all faith in humanity if it was proven it was an inside job.

I always remember just after it happened, there were all these rumours of white people helping out muslims in newsagents etc and being told to stay out of the area on day x because they'd been kind. Then when I got to uni and the subject came up, it seems that every part of the country had their own version of this story.

I'm not beyond the idea that it is an inside job, humans are capable of some pretty sick stuff but then Again you can make a conspiracy for anything really.

If someone really wanted they could say it was Giant Lizards that orchestrated the events and they were in league with aliens in a big plot to send the U.S into War and make their foreign policy disliked so that nobody trusted anybody and the world would be easy pickings.

I'll stick with the official version of things.

Unfortunately Official Versions of Things can also be quite untrue, like why we went to war in Iraq, because Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and that these were capable of being deployed in 40 minutes.
