I don't have my mum anymore but buy for Karls mum as she is lke a mum to me. She needs new shoes so am taking her shopping to get some. And we will probs take her out for lunch on the day. Corona Virus permitting of course. Might all be housebound

Daughter-in-law is coming over from California next week if travel is still allowed.
I will chat to daughter on messenger.
I do know the pesky son will not get in the front room, he can say hello through the glass door, he has given me yet another cold this week.
I think we will be self isolating by then.

Yes that'll happen for sometime yet. Time heals as they say but not totally. I still have my moments 5 years on. Went to Church last month and they sang Amazing Grace. I had to leave...was in tears.

Really sorry to hear that. My mum died right around mother's day (almost to the day) 6 years ago. It takes a while to sink in, the first few mothers days after that were a strange time. Don't worry too much if it feels like things won't get better, would be my only advice... It's OK to just feel the feelings as they come.

For myself this year (or rather, for the lovely mother of my own kiddos) I will be helping them prep their mothers day thingumajigs and whatchemacallits. I won't say what because she might spy on the thread

Appreciate all your kind comments and words of wisdom...a draining sad day but my mum had a good long life and you can’t ask for more than that.

...I’m so, so sorry, Rusti......it’s the same for one of my friends right now...they say that time is a healer, I’m not sure that it is...but we start to remember the smiles and happy as well and we start to remember the life, rather than just the loss and the sadness...I really am so sorry.....
