Yes, reporting on a pandemic that has taken over the entire world at this point is scraping the barrel.

there'll Always be other epidemics/pandemics honestly

was H1N1 reported about this much, i cannot remember that, and yet that was also ''pandemic''

there are worse illnesses than covid too out there, poor those people who got other illnesses and cannot go to hospitals, because of the whole corona obsession

so we're supposed to ignore other dangerous illnesses now

corona affects our social lives (not mine lol) ok but people should adapt to the situation, socialize more online, do game nights with online friends, or have movie/serie marathons by yourself (or with whoever lives with you of family)

if you can avoid getting infected you should definitely show 100% effort at that, it can be mentally draining i guess but if it can save your life it is worth it

Exactly, a guy goes on the rampage in Nova Scotia and kills 16 and he can't even get a thread on Tibb never mind some media coverage. He may as well not have bothered to make the effort. This virus will be the death of mass shooters

Edit: he is already died

That's sadly not true at all, the makings of WW3 are happily rumbling away in the South China seas off the coast of Vietnam. It would be absolutely massive news but no one cares 'cos there's a pandemic innit so

To be fair to Nico he's not wrong - H1N1 was "worse" than most people realise but no one really paid much attention to it, because most of the deaths were buried in the general influenza stats. It's estimated that there were between 300,000 and 600,000 deaths globally in the 2009 pandemic and most people don't even know it happened whereas people are currently losing their minds after 160,000 Covid deaths globally.

It is quite interesting and (in my opinion) goes to show the role that media saturation has played in the current pandemic.

That may be true, but his comment had little relevance to what he was replying to.

Nicky is too meta for that, he doesn't conform to your basic bitch linear temporal logic. That's what makes him unique.
