Edit: Just checked and it doesn't look like game is in Ireland. I'd try to find console/gaming shops too, as they may have them, over a big chain like currys.

There is one in the city centre I think but it's a pain to get into

I haven't gotten a console on release since the 360 which eventually ended up dying to the Red Ring of Death a few months later.

It would be the PS5 but I’m still undecided whether to get one or not and I would definitely wait at least a year before I’d go out and buy it. I’ve just kinda gone off games in general over the last few years, I wasn’t that excited when the PS4 was released and it took until 2017 for me to actually go out and buy one.

It was but it was a widespread issue, a lot of the initial Xboxes were affected by it so it was a huge bother to get it sorted. It's made me hesitant to get consoles right out of the gate.

I hated the 360 for this very reason and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to getting an Xbox console again. When I was at school I knew so many people that this happened to but luckily it never happened with mine but I still ended up trading it in and getting a PS3 instead.

I hope it all works out, I don't think Playstations have had many issues on the RRoD level that hasn't been fixable via patches and such so hopefully nothing goes wrong with the first batch.

Well good luck. There will prob be a 2nd batch before xmas and you've already got a place in that line. They did tell me today that anyone trying to order a 2nd controller when they buy will be out of luck as there's a shortage, so I'd get that ordered too when you eventually make a breakthrough.

I wouldn't be too worried about the 2nd controller straight away anyway, why do you even need another one?, he rarely has friends over physically playing together, they all play online on their own consoles
