Default Emily - why has she seemed a bit ‘excluded’ since she came back to the house?…

…and has she seemed excluded, do you think…?…for me she seems to have struggled so much to find a ‘fit’ and yet she seems to be someone who tries to see many sides in disputes and also seems very supportive of any housemate in their down moments…just a sweet and nice lady, really…

…before Emily came back into the house, didn’t many housemates say that Emily was someone that they would have really liked to get to know better…?…and then they get that opportunity but don’t embrace it and she feels ‘pushed out’…?…that just doesn’t make sense, does it…?…

…I read something a while ago on another BB forum and yeah it was just something on a forum but right at the beginning, Fey and Emily had gravitated toward each other in conversation/and exchanging views and no pre-judging etc…and Fey had apparently expressed to Zelah that she liked Emily…and Zelah had responded something along the lines of…’just wait until you Google her when you get out…’…so is that something that you recall/and is that something that other housemates have felt also and why she’s struggled so much…?…

Why do I get the feeling Zelah was just shy of saying the world would be a better place without Emily.

…but the thing is, that it often tended to be Fey that was said to initiate these feelings…I mean, I don’t know what the truth, I have to say…it’s just something I read that Zelah had said in response to Fey saying that she liked Emily…it might be in the launch night highlights but that’s not something that I’ll go back and look at, probably…

I think the circumstances just haven't worked really. Coming in late meant that people had already settled into relationships and groups that they were comfortable with. There was also a lot of fatigue with political discussions as well I think after George and so it seems to have been something that everyone has actively avoided and maybe there was a bit of wariness of Emily because of that

Honestly there might also be a bit of reverse snobbery at play with people judging her for being a posh Tory girl

…I do think in BB as well, there is often an ‘ownership’ of the house from originals, in terms of latecomers and being eligible to win etc…for me, I felt it a bit toward Farida as well, it’s just that Farida is a totally different character type to Emily…and just ‘created that fit’ whereas Emily has stepped a bit more gently, I guess…but in considering others and their friendship groups already formed etc…it’s part of creating her own ‘exclusion’…

She’ll be even more isolated once Nancy and Caroline go tonight (let’s be honest we know Jenny will survive), as she seemed to find some solace with them.

Didn't Feyisola only arrive in the house AFTER Emily had been evicted on launch night?

…oh, good detective thinking…maybe it was in a conversation after Emily came back, then…maybe she and Fey had a chat and then Fey said to Zelah that she liked her…?…or maybe it’s just complete fake news…

Ahhh yes, I forgot Emily came back just before Feyisola got kicked to the curb for our viewing pleasure. So there was a slight overlap. It's weird that Zelah would be aware of Emily as a social media presence, but I suppose they're the type to make a point of being hyper aware of those sorts of people.

Yeah I'm sad to see this because she's such a genuinely lovely girl and really easy to get on with, she's respectful of others' views and opinions and has a good sense of humour and is overall a great presence. I really think coming in late just ruined the potential of her time/friendships/popularity in there, the groups had already formed and they'd already gotten their cliques and Emily/Farida just didn't really fit in as well as if they'd been there since the beginning imo

…yeah, I had presumed it was from the launch but it probably was referring to some conversations very early on when Emily re entered with Farida and Sam…

Unfortunately females cannot get away with being Tories, we have had a few males and they have all been reasonably popular, Henry for instance, its sad when people see the politics rather than the person especially as she doesn't appear to have got particularly political in the house, unlike others in there, she seems like a very sweet person, she hasn't had that many nominations so I think its more she hasn't particularly gelled with anyone unlike Elsa and Teja, Marcus and Tate, Nancy and Sam, Cameron and Jenny, Zelah and Fey, she just hasn't managed to bond with anyone in any meaningful way, even Farida who she came in with gave her eyes to Caroline despite her throwing beer in her direction and you would have thought they would have that bond from the secret room, she considered Sam a friend but then nominated him

Your political leanings are inarguably part of your persona and define you.
You cannot separate the politics from the person. Sooner or later even idle chatter turns to politics, at which point you have to account for yourself.
Look at today's crop of politicians, then look at the idiots who voted them in.
It beggars belief that Donald Trump, the embodiment of corruption and narcissism, was elected into office by an electorate unfit to even cast a vote in the "goat of the year" beauty contest. I remember Hooray Henry from last year, proudly mouthing adherence to the politics his parents spoonfed the plump little bugger through the headlines they harvested from the Telegraph, the criminally dishonest Daily Mail etc. Hooray wasn't a bad guy, but he knew nothing about realpolitk. and should stick to being plump. I have nothing against Jenny, but then again I have nothing for her either. She is just another political imbecile regurgitating the political bile in the cause of the slimy and utterly self-serving non-entity who badmouthed the EU but was happy to take its money and pension plan . Hyocrisy is never far away from populist scumbags like him.
Voting in elections should only be open to people capable of proving their political nous during a brief test before being permitted to enter the voting booth.

I have quoted Churchill before and I shall quote him again on this occasion:
"The best argument against democracy is 5 minutes with the average voter". (Winston Churchill)

I wholeheatedly endorse the democratic ideal and would not wish to see it vanquished, but Churchill's contention that the average voter is ill-equipped to cast a meaningful vote in an election has merit.
