Emma Willis reveals more about Power Trip theme in The Sun

24 May, 2014 - 6:36 PM by James
Big Brother host Emma Willis says the 'Power Trip' theme for the year's summer Big Brother will involve technology like social media being used to mess with the minds of the housemates.

In an interview, which she has given with Rylan Clark, in Friday 23rd May's The Sun she says:

"The housemates might be savvy to Big Brother but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re smart!" "When you have a theme like this, you have to be able to think on your feet. I think having a good theme and lots of tasks helps provide lots of content."

Emma talks about the house: "Last year the house was very eco-friendly and budget, whereas this year it will be more stark and clinical."

Housemates will be able to 'win power': "And there will be an element of power up for grabs." "You might have to win the power, you might be given the power but can you hold on to it or will someone take it away from you?"

"Will you use the power in a good way or a bad way?"

She hints that housemates might find out what the public is saying about them on social media:
"There will be an element of technology because we all live with Twitter and Facebook now. It will be sporadic and extremely monitored."

"Housemates might get to find out a little bit about what people have said about them and we’ve seen in previous series how much that messes with people! So there should be drama."

Big Brother: Power Trip launches on 5th June 2014 on Channel 5.

What do you think about these possible changes to the format? Post in the forum.

"Big Brother will involve technology like social media being used to mess with the minds of the housemates." I really doubt they are going to do that. Only if they use ocado again.

What brainless people are in charge of this show? I cannot comprehend how they gather around a table and think this is a good idea. I'm not exaggerating when I say I genuinely think I could do their job and improve ratings in one series.

Why does every thread turn into a Bring back BB C4 discussion

imo it doesn't tell us much I think we all knew that it will be based around technology

If Twitter and Facebook are available to housemates, then it really isn't Big Brother anymore is it? Channel 4 know the show inside out. Channel 5 obviously view it as a more secluded TOWIE or Geordie Shore.

first of all it didn't say anything about Twitter and Facebook in use they wouldn't any because it's basically like giving them phones
