Two days ago, I was on a bus, around four o'clock in the afternoon, a group of little boys, (similar age with Chesney in Coronation Street) way back from a school got on the bus.
They talked to each other loud, almost thirty minutes journey until they got off at a village, none of boys swore during their conversation.
Yesterday around the same time, I passed a group of boys and girls, slightly older than previous boys, who were standing in front of a kebab shop. Then a girl shouted at a boy, the top of her voice "Fxxxxk off!"
What a contrast!

I had an argument about this on my friends a couple of days ago as well, yep for the first time ever I actually confidently debated the subject of who's better looking than who, hopefully it's a sign of things to come and that I can behave like a normal person to a reasonable extent.

Your comment reminds me of something - not debating just one side nagging (bit off topic)
One day I went to a canteen/restaurant with my friend. Next to us there was a very young couple, the boy was talking/nagging the girl who was looking down and only saying "sorry" very few times.
Amazingly this went on even we had a meal and when we left, he was still telling off the girl.
What I thought this, then, I really really envied the boy's energy and passion whatever that was about.

Thanks Sooty.
And wow what made you make back up with each other after falling out for so long?
That time we were still working. (We are the same age, we were both retired now - actually today I met her and had a lunch together. We know each other since mid 80s)
One late December, I had a week holiday. I did not go anywhere just stayed home relax, drinking (my favourite Baileys), eating, watching TV, sleeping, doing nothing, sort of thing.
To cut long story short, I supposed to start to work from Friday and meet the friend the day and had a lunch together. She was on holiday as well. She commuted from Buckinghamshire to London. She came to London just to have lunch with me, it was still her holday the day.
Then I did not turn up the place where we supposed to meet. She called my office as I suposed to start to work from the day. (Those day none of us had mobile.)
Of course I was at home thinking it was still Thursday.
Anyway later she told me that she made Japanese Azuki sweet. Normally it takes long time to make it. She knew I would have loved it.
I had to call the office as well, then manager told me it was too late to come to work. Luckily I was allowed to replace the day I did not go to work as my formal holiday.
I apologised her many times since, but she was so so angry with me, she did not return my calls. refused to see me for nearly ten months.
Mind you she is very strict to other people but twice stric to herself, she is very disciplined. She was always in the office one hour before officially start.
She used to live in a flat in Barbican, and her office was just walking distance in Moorgate. Her colleague used to say, "she can afford to come early because she lives just around the corner."
But when she moved to Buckinghamshire, she got up at 4:30 and still she started to work at the same time as before, colleague were really amazed she said.
She is very stubborn but I highly respect her.
*I hope my English was all right.

Wow, having to get up at 4.30 to travel from Buckinghamshire to London takes some doing. Well done her. Don't think I could do it, especially in the Winter.

She was working in a finance company.
One of typical thing she did first thing in the morning was not really anybody's job, but to replace/add copy/fax machine papers and toners.
Specially copy papers boxes are heavy. Not many people would wish to do it even male colleagues.
During the day, peopel will be too busy on their main job and wish papers will not run out middle of copying.

I was on a train reading a paper.
At a station, a gentleman came on board and sat beside me.
Then after a while I heard he was saying "Do not you believe that, it is rubbish!" I thought he was talking to his mobile.
Then I realised he was talking to me pointing out to the page on an article I was reading.
It headline said, "Even scientists are cooling on climate change" I said to him pointing out a sentence "But even David Bellamy lost his job."
Then another gentleman in front of me wanted to see the paper so I showed him and all three of us stared (read) at paper for a while.
I felt it was very unusual scene, totally strangers, three heads and a newspaper.
The gentleman commented something (he did not look happy) but returned reading his own broadsheets.
I know the green issue is so important but wow..

Well comparing Hyuma to Hoshi from Star Trek: Enterprise I have to agree with you, although Hoshi was extremely attractive.
And the reason Japan's Yen is still going strong is that their trading business is going much stronger than most countries as they're actually bringing a lot of money back to their country instead of wasting it on wars.

Did you know Shakespeare wore earring (earrings)?
I thought men wearing earrings was a modern trend at least not more than 30 years or something.
Yesterday my friend and I were walking near Trafalgar Square. It was so cold, so we decided to pop into near by building.
It happened to be National Portrait Gallery.
Inside was so nice and warm and also we could sit on chir if we wish, so we decided to stay and looked around as we were not in a hurry.
I was really stunned to discover him wearing earring!

Oh it is worrying isn't it?
Today I received a parcel (internet shopping), as I was out, my neighbour had it for me.
I hope yours are just delayed, Jessica.
I had my hair permed today. It was too curly than I expected.
I met somebody after that. She shouted "What have you done to your hair!!" ...... :(
I have a wig somewhere..
...aww, lol..I bet it looks lovely Sooty, don't put that wig on..are you happy with it..?...

..aww, Sooty it can't be that bad..the thing with perms is they take a week or two to settle, don't they..if you really hate it after that then I'm sure the hairdresser could do something or you could do it yourself..do you have a hairdryer/straighteners..?...it's nothing that can't be put right quite easily, Sooty..please don't let it upset you.....could you try restyling it yourself tomorrow..?...maybe your friends just haven't got good eyesight and need to wear glasses or something..?...

Ha ha Ammi
Actually we were talking about hair straightener. But she said it would not last long.
Tomorrow, I am meeting with my old neighbour at Tesco Café after cemetery. I have not decided whether if I should wear it.
Today, I saw new neighbour. She said "Oh your hair....... deferent"
Well I think I am going to wear THAT tomorrow.

..the straighteners usually last all day, Sooty..I have natural wavy hair but use them on mine...if you have a pair or can borrow some, then try them, ok..
..you can also wash it and straighten it by using a hairdryer so there are a lot of things you can do if you really don't like it, it's quite solvable so don't worry...you could wear a scarf and sunglasses tomorrow and look like Audrey Hepburn..:amazed:....

I was at the doctor earlier today dropping off a form and in the waiting room you're meant to take a ticket and wait till your number is called.
But there was no one there so I figured I'd save the environment and not take one of the wasteful paper numbers, so I went straight to the counter but the secretary insisted that I had to take one of them.
I went and got one and went back to her, and then she said I had to wait till my number was called and she pointed out the electronic display that was showing the number before mine. She had me wait a further 5mins. And all I had to do there was hand her a bloody form!! :cloud:

Where did I see that electric ticket last time?
That's right, I went to Argos to buy Tomtom some time ago.
I had a problem with Tomtom. I can't see the maximum speed on the task bar. I called service department, a lady told me to "reset factory setting" and told me to save "Favourite" before I do that.
I did. But it did not work. I still can not see the maximum speed.
I may have to call them again.

When I was queuing at a shop, a man passed. He smiled at me. I wondered who he was. I realised it was my new neighbour. But I wondered what he was doing in this shop. He looked bit younger and wearing casual cloth. I asked him "Hello. Are you off today?"
He did not answer but just passed keep smiling.
A cashier near me said "It's his lunch time now".
My neighbour works at a hospital. I realised the man had flat Tommy but my neighbour had slight bear belly.
I said to a totally stranger "Are you off today?" :o
If I was a young woman, he would have thought it was a new chat line.

I am panicked!
Few years ago my best friend gave me cats ornament. Two of three cats as one set and she told me she could not find other one. I did not like them too much but I have kept them.
I saw her on Tuesday, she said she found other cat and gave it to me, saying "You still have got them. don't you?"
Honestly, last Friday, only two days before, after I have been kept them for years, I gave them to a local charity shop.
Split seconds decision, I lied!!
"Of course I have." She gives me lots of things which are normally not my taste but if I said so she gets agitate and would say, I have no taste.
I am a 100% sheep. Anyway, as I have already lied to her, I better go to the charity shop hoping nobody have bought them, I will buy them back.
I could understand Dexter could not tell Gina the truth and he lied. (did he lie or he had no choice as he was not allowed to tell her that he had nominated her?)
Well I better go to the shop now. I could not go out yesterday.

Shop keepers said either they were sold or the staff came to my house and collected two boxes were still in her car, or they were not saleable (one of cats was broken and mended with glue) and been discarded. I was told to come back when the lady was in the shop.
I will tell my friend next time she came to my house and asked me where they were, I would tell her as Annie said.

I have another item she gave me and made sure I would not give it to charity. When she comes to my house, I take it from a drawer and put it on the shelf.
Problem is, it is very difficult to explain but I really admire and respect her for many many things, so I do not want to upset her or let down if possible but I also have very strong own taste.

..awww, well done for remembering to put it out every time she comes though..I think I would forget..of course you have your own taste, it's what makes us individual, if you said that to her, would she not understand and not be offended..especially when she knows what lengths you've gone to all these years...maybe she would laugh about that..?..I think I would...

Ammi, she is a very strong minded woman. Once she did not talk to me for a year. But we missed each other so much. I like her company and I can learn lots of things from her.
Then, my old neighbour, she is only five years older than me, but I feel she is like my mother, my grand mother and my best friend.
I can talk to her anything and she is always emotionally for me. I love her to bits. Unfortunately she can't go out like I do with Yko as she has to look after ill husband.
I still go to see her now and again. Tomorrow I am visiting her, have lunch, and planning to take her husband to go out (wheel chair).
I hope it is at least dry tomorrow.
By the way, Yko said today I might die soon, as I am rushing things too much,(Travelling. I went to Scotland, Liverpool, Eastbourn, Torquay, within month) and normally people are dying, they subcontiously know life is near the end, so they do lots of things as much as possible.:(

..awww, yeah I know a few strong minded people as well Sooty..I can understand why you panicked about the cat ornaments but I do think it's a shame that you felt like that because really when you think about it, they're only ornaments and not really important at all..but they became very important to you....
..there are lots of reasons why people travel and even suddenly do a lot...I understand your reasons and they have nothing to do with feeling that you're not going to be here much longer..she sounds as though perhaps she's not the most tactful of people..?..I'm sure that's just her way and it's not how it's meant though...but don't worry about such things Sooty, a lot of people get the opportunity to do things a bit later in their lives and it means nothing other than they're lucky they do...are the trip plans going well..do you still intend to go away and do everything you wanted to..?....

I am going to see my family in Japan in September/October for two weeks.
The way home, I will stop over in Hong Kong, stay two nights. I have already booked hotel.
I spent too much money on my new house's renovation (I have got a Japanese toilet!) my planned holiday have to be next year if I am lucky. Until then, I will go to mini dancing holidays in UK. I would love to go to Bournemouth in August for few days.

No, Ammi, I do not speak Chinese. Japanese share the some of Chinese characters but not speaking.
For example, if I go to China Town in London, I would know, they are restaurants, banks, barber shops etc by reading, but we can't speak.
However, if I have to hire a taxi guide, I have to make sure he/she speaks English, common language.
I like sea and mountain view. I also looking forward to see the night view (lights) of Hong Kong. But I will study more about Honk Kong before I arrive to make the most of it.

You will go there one day, Nathan. It helps if you have somebody you know there already.
Osaka is South and Tokyo is centre of Japan so you should be all right.
I have no choice but have to travel to North, where tsunami was.
You may have heard already that you could avoid summer as it is unbearably humid hot. Specially after the tsunami, nuclear plants is not fully operational, they are saving energy, trying not to use too much air conditioner.
