In the year 2068, the UK Parliament, in accordance with a number of other similar international laws, passed the Suicide Act, following 2062's reform of the Human Rights Act, which legalised euthanasia. As the 64th series of The X Factor drew to a close, TV executives were presented with the tempting offer of a new reality-contest: In Cold Blood.

By consenting to their possible - and to ten of them, inevitable - deaths, 15 rather brave contestants would put themselves forward for a shot at £100m. The 15 contestants were to be sent away to a contained facility, where they would spend 3 weeks largely in solitary confinement. Every 2 days, the group would be challenged in tasks, filmed and left to socialise as much as they can in an attempt to save their own skin - because personal failure would lead to a grisly demise.

At the end of each 2 day task, the group leader gets to decide which two of his team have contributed the least, or pose the biggest threat - but if the group fails their task, the leader may only choose one and step forward him/herself - and enter Isolation.

In Isolation the 2 losing contestants are sent to separate locations within the compound in hunt for vital clues to solve a fictional mystery - but what they're hoping to avoid is running into the Killer. After several hundreds of thousands around the world have taken to the streets, decrying such a TV show to exist, the show was axed by a large UK TV channel before being picked up by an unknown online entrepreneur, with a huge cult following in light of several taboo productions. The show, In Cold Blood, now approximates a worldwide online audience of 200 million, and generates advertising revenue in the hundreds of billions ballpark.

With an increasingly unstable international climate, there is little that the UN can do intervene since it technically complies with the UK's attitudes towards euthanasia: although there is first degree murder being carried out on multiple occasions, the candidates have effectively consented to their deaths in the application process.

At the end of the show, five rather lucky contestants will be left to votes from the worldwide audience - the winner being presented with the £100m jackpot. The other 4 go away empty-handed, but alive. But who would put themselves for such a treacherous and immoral pursuit?The details are sketchy and the production team not exactly thorough, or of moral persuasion, but their motives vary from pure greed to career enhancement. Several media outlets have repeatedly questioned the integrity of the show and its selection process, but this sketchy outlook hasn't dissuaded our 15.

With a Killer on the lose and with almost universal access to the entire compound (except the other contestants' cells, basically), the other 14 must fight to oust him or her - but in the event of the Killer's capture, one other detective will be briefed by the producers to take the Killer's place. The hunt then restarts until 10 tasks have ended. During their group activities the detectives are merely locked in a large, white, padded room with a table pinned to the ground, paper documents and a TV screen behind a perspex wall - we don't want any of them going gung-ho and trying to kill the others publically after all. Cameras and security are extremely widespread to dispel any such sabotages.

The 15 have been selected and they're on the way to the compound. They do not know each other yet, but let's hope they make an excellent first impression.

Yes! It is amazing. It was so much fun last time, especially when we discovered the killer was Braden and had to try and keep it from him to save ourselves.

Applicants of In Cold Blood 3 need to be aware that the game has somewhat changed, or at least the superficial aspects of it have. I'll reveal the backstory nearer the launch, but the first major difference is that the characters have all been given motives to kill. The second is that you'll be applying for these characters. In the event you pick a character that's already been taken, you'll be offered another (if I accept you) - and if you're worried about picking a character you think might die quickly, don't worry, because the characters' fates only depend on your work, not my storywriting :)

There are a handful of new twists and turns to divert from the 'Stab in the Dark' method, but there'll still be two of those. I'll of course reveal these at my leisure.

I'm willing to accept players who have appeared in previous series of the game, but I will give priority to newbies - simply because it's fairer and I want to see fresh blood spilt ;)

You have until Friday 6pm to PM me - and here are the names of the characters you can apply for. I'm not revealing other information about them until you've got them, since some of their info is secret. Just put in the PM the name of the character you want

At the end of each 2 day task, the group leader gets to decide which two of his team have contributed the least, or pose the biggest threat - but if the group fails their task, the leader may only choose one and step forward him/herself - and enter Isolation.

They basically had to make 1000 posts before midnight (7pm I think the task starte) p and because people don't know how to shut the **** up ;), it looked like they could do it easily because they had posts that started before the task counted. :D.

I only know this as I wasted 2 hours reading the whole series on Saturday :p.

Contestants, you are permitted 10 strikes over the course of the next 24 hours. The task shall end at midnight tomorrow.

Forum users not playing ICB3 will be able to ask the contestants any question they like, as long as it is possible to be answered. A contestant dealing with this harrassment from the media must simply quote the question and answer it however they wish - but they cannot answer it flippantly or with spam. For example, if LemonJam comes in and posts "Why are you alive, Josy?", Josy must answer with a relevant answer, rather than "Potato." or something equally nonsense.

I'll judge your failure leniently, since this is your first task.

Rules:
- Non-players (ie. journalists) may only ask 3 questions each
- Non-players may ask questions directed at one particular contestant, but any contestant can answer it and still be counted as a pass.
- Each contestant must answer at least one question to pass.
- I may ask as many questions as I like :D
- As team leader, it is advised that Samuel. comes up with a method whereby the team keep track of who has answered a question, and who hasn't, since all 15 must in order to pass.
