That EXCLUDES +1

Including +1, BB received 1.65m. The highest rating since launch. :)

So the official rating with +1 is about 1.7m?
Then the officials in a few weeks will be like 1.8-1.9?
That's pretty impressive! :)

I think this is a huge wakeup for channel 5
Fights and confrontation = RATINGS WINNER
Romance crap = Ratings drop.

Thats great news the ratings are still pretty good, I have to be honest I didn't know BB was on at 9pm it the last minute, so maybe other people were the same, it could have possible have had higher ratings.

It's not looking good

Why not? It got its highest rated highlight show since in moved to c5, atleast the rating increasing rather than decreasing (like bb12) great news for c5

Cause Theres some good LOLz Going Into The House Today :)

Yes but its back at the 10pm slot which alot of people can't watch.
Least at 9pm a lot can watch and people who have missed have 10pm.
I don't see many people watching BB at 11pm-12am.

I think this should be enough to get channel 5 to put on at 9pm more.
If its going to hit a show you always have 10pm on plus.

*mazedsalv**
12-06-2012, 02:12 PM
For people who didn't know. Last nights rating of 1.65m is the highest ever rating for a HL show since BB moved to Channel 5 (regular series, not including CBB).

DigitalSid
12-06-2012, 02:25 PM
No offence but i see series as a singular event and judge the success on ratings for that series alone.

I dont know why you are clumping together all ratings from 4 different series to make an acceptable average when its clear to see that im talking about BB13 as a stand alone show which it is.

Just judge BB13 ratings on what it actually gets and not combine it with previous series because thats just strange.

The success of BB13 will be down to how it rates alone.

CBB and normal BB are 2 different shows and they should be judged individually.

What?

For the 10th time we're not discussing how you see it, and how either of use judge it is irrelevant, my first reply to you yesterday in this discussion was in response to you saying that you couldn't see Channel 5 doing any more normal series (you'd see that if you actually bother to read and respond to my first two posts yesterday). THAT'S what I'm disputing, not your claim that BB is doing badly compared to what it used to, I agree with that, but that's not what this discussion was about. It's about whether they're good enough for Channel 5 and whether Channel 5 are gonna think they're good enough, and I've proven the answer to be they are. Which your just ignoring.

And I'm "clumping together all ratings for 4 different series to make an acceptable average" because they didn't say they wanted a 2 million average specifically for normal BB or for CBB or each series they air, they just said they wanted a 2 million average for the show on their channel, which they're getting.

JohnnyBB

It used to do well in the 10pm slot but it does better at 9pm now so they should try and put it on then most days.

Pretty good, hopefully word of mouth about how good this series is shaping up to be will eventually push it above 2m, that'd be good.

Although I still stand by saying I'm half and half on this. If the ratings increase it'll only give them more reason to not provide any live feed, as they'll think what they're providing at the moment is sufficient enough. So it's a tough one really, I want to prove a point but I want it to do well.

Jake.

What confuses me most about the ratings is the fact that EVERYONE I know have started watching it again this year my teaches, everyone in my classes, people at my gym, my neighbors even the man who owns the off licence. So what is with these rating. This year big brother seams to be a hot topic again but its getting less views than last year?

Yeah but how am i slagging Channel 5 off by stating that i think BB is under performing?

I like Channel 5 and think its got some awesome shows, last nights "Extraordinary People" was brilliant.

I just think as this series is so good it deserves to be getting 2 million.

Maybe you should go look up what slagging off actually means.

Ps: JH95 im not comparing this to the glory days im looking at this as a new era for BB and think it should be getting higher, get off my back.

Im not saying that i would ever expect it to go that high but 2 million isnt unobtainable.

It ****s me off that CBB can rate so high and the regular series gets over looked.

The summer series is in real danger of being cancelled and C5 will probably just run CBB instead.

Then again i think CBB will rate badly this year to due to it being on straight after the regular series.

Wed: 1.80m [+1: 117k] = 1.92m
Thu: 1.85m [+1: 83k] = 1.93m

The official BB13 series average after four days stands at: 2.16m (inc +1). The average timeshift for those episodes was 370k. After four days, the official BB12 series average last year was 1.96m, so very early on this series it's been an improvement of about +10% vs. 2011.

MPD is no competition.

Yeah but the last series of MPD used to get like 1.3/1.6 officialy so its not really competition.

I think it attracts a diiferent kind of audience.

BARB official ratings are in for the first 4 days

Tue: 2.93m [+1: 84k] = 3.02m
Wed: 1.80m [+1: 117k] = 1.92m
Thu: 1.85m [+1: 83k] = 1.93m
Fri: 1.67m [+1: 111k] = 1.78m

The official BB13 series average after four days stands at: 2.16m (inc +1). The average timeshift for those episodes was 370k. After four days, the official BB12 series average last year was 1.96m, so very early on this series it's been an improvement of about +10% vs. 2011.

Thanks for posting this, Salv. No one can deny now that BB's doing well. Yet there are some on here who labour to grasp this point. I'm not naming them but they know who they are.

Last week's Saturday episode, the official rating was: 1.5762m [C5] and 68k [C5+1] = 1.64m [inc +1]

That's a massive 410k up on the 1.23m overnight.

They take into account +1, Sky+ and other types of recordings. They don't take repeats into account though.

Not sure, they used to be done every Tuesday, but they still haven't updated BARB (where all these are supposed to come from), its a reliable ratings person on DS which have provided the first 5 officials (Launch to Saturday). I will post the rest when I get more. They are also being added to the Wiki page anyway (as the ratings are all on there, the first 4 on the page are officials, the rest are overnights).

Overnights are up 4% without +1, and up 10% with +1 factored in, so without +1 it is still ahead of BB12 at the same point.

Oh yeah I agree, but the officials for BB12 added around 150k average, BB13 officials have been adding 350k and even 400k+ to the average. For example, that 1.43m rating will probably reach past 1.8m (already beating the 1.7m official of BB12). There seems to be a generally bigger audience recording BB this year. And when we take into account that we had last week a 1.65m ratings, a 1.59m and 1.57m (eviction), those will probably all top 1.9m in the officials if they add as mush as the first 6 days have.

Yeah but thats due to +1 being available this year.

But +1 has not added more than 170k so far and generally gets around 90k added onto it. Without the +1, the officials are still adding a good 250-280k, just over 350k with it included.

Edit- I notice that the officials for BB12 was ACTUALLY 1.6m and not 1.7m. I reckon we could beat it by 200k or so, especially because come 2 weeks time, there will be no more Euro on to clash with. And the Olympics will not directly clash with BB.

Most members would also agree that having about 10 or 11 stickied threads would be an unnecessary amount and if this were to be sticked it'd only be fair to do the same for the BOTS thread, the Elimination game, the daily housemate rankings etc. etc. all of those are used daily as well but nobody has complained as much about them

It's not a difficult thread to find and there are other important aspects of the show - the ratings is only one of them and isn't even the most important. We would end up with ten pages' worth of stickied threads if we stickied everything the forum members deemed to be important enough for it. We have more than enough stickied threads clogging up various boards as it is.

If anyone wants to post the ratings, then it's a simple matter of using the search function.

I fail to see the problem with that system.

Well, look, if the moderators have unstickied it again then surely this should tell you that it doesn't need to be stickied. As I said, there would be no room for new topics if all the threads members wanted to be stickied were stickied.

Yeah because this forum is so busy.

Most members want it stickied.

No, because of the ridiculous amount of stickied threads we have clogging up the boards. I think it's good that the moderators are doing something about the system.

Don't get me wrong, I do find this thread useful, but we have enough stickied threads as it is. We don't need any more.

Atleast it should beat last years same show.

The 1st Friday show was officially watched by 1.41

The 2nd show (interview) was seen by 1.23

When we get officials it should bump it to 1.7/1.8

Shame it hasn't moved from 1.4m incl +1 for the ENTIRE WEEK, but all the last few ratings would be around 1.7-1.8m with +1 so not bad at all.

I never said that isn't clogging up the forum, either. I agree that the stickied threads about the forum rules are crap and deserve to be binned. Like, we all know the rules and it's up to us FMs to obey them. We don't need all these little reminders taking up all the space.

It's not stickied because there's a Thread Finder I think, which was made so all the important threads like this could be listed in one place without needing to fill the first page with stickies: http://thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203172

It isn't difficult, is it impossible for the thread to be found without it being stickied? No.

Why would you even give a **** if it's stickied or not? Bloody hell.
