Pokémon X & Y Torchic Distribution Announced

With the release of Pokémon X & Y only days away, Nintendo has announced that Torchic, the fire starter from Generation III, will be released via Wi-Fi as a special distribution event to mark the release of the two titles.
From October 12th, Pokéfans will be able to download their special Torchic simply by connecting their systems to the internet. The Torchic will be given away holding a Blazikenite Stone, allowing Torchic to eventually evolve into Blaziken's Mega Evolution. Full details of the downloadable Torchic are as follow:
Event lasts from Oct. 12th, 2013 to Jan. 15, 2014
Distributed inside Cherish Ball
Level 10
Holds Blazikenite Stone
Moves: Scratch, Growl, Focus Energy, Ember

Following the news that players will be able to receive a Kanto starter as well as a Kalos starter, it seems that with the downloadable Hoenn starter, Torchic, there's the potential to start the game with three beginner Pokémon. Team Rocket decide to follow Ash to Kalos.
Ash and Alexa leave Kanto for the Kalos region.
This episode is, to date, the largest gathering of all of Ash's Pokémon at one time. It should be noted that with the exception of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Tauros and the Pokémon he traveled with in Unova and the Decolore Islands, Ash's other Pokémon only appear in a photograph shown during a post-credits scene. I'm in the first Gym Leader's city. I've got a Chespin, a Spewpa and a Bunnelby. Some interesting tidbits:

- Chespin started with Vine Whip as a third move, I only assume that Fennekin and Froakie get Ember and Water Gun.

- You get EXP when you capture pokemon now.

- You can hold B to run from the start now, no more silly running shoes needed.

I'm just levelling up at the moment, there seems to be a bigger variety of pokemon in each route.

And yeah, I ordered from Shopto. I imagine Salman got his copy today as well.

Also I've noticed you get dragons really early this game, I think I'm in the town before the second gym and I've already caught an Axew and encountered a wild Bagon. I suppose the inclusion of the Fairy type has allowed them to be introduced earlier since they have a common weakness now.

I found Swirlix in the bushes by the Daycare centre. He was quite rare though.

As for EXP Share I think it basically gives everyone in the team Half the EXP, so if you got 200 from a fight everyone would get 100 EXP.
