Big Brother - 1.60m (9.9%)
Excluding +1.
Great share and figure.
Hopefully we will get +1 later.
BB slayed the competition at 10 pm
Channel 4: "Legally High" 547k (3.4%)
BBC2: "Work Experience" 1.05m (5.9%)
Amazing! I was worrying that the ratings were going to dip after seeing Wednesday's viewing numbers, but thankfully it has bumped back up again. Great share too!

Annoying we don't know the +1, but it will be around 70k, so last night was around 1.67m incl +1.
Tonight, I reckon around 1.78m which would make it the 2nd highest joint with Dan's eviction, I still don't think Sallie's 1.83m will be beaten. Dan's eviction got 1.78m and Callum's last week got 1.76m.
Also, even excl +1, last night was the highest rated Thursday show.

Competition for tonight:
9PM
BBC 1 - Fields of Blood (Got 3.36 million yesterday night, I expect less today as yesterday was the first episode)
BBC 2 - Natural world: Shrilanka Elephant Island (Don't know much. Guessing bad ratings)
ITV 1 - Doc Martin (Last week 3.03 million overnight)
Channel 4 - 8 out of 10 cats does countdown (1.42 exl. +1 last week. Good competition for channel 4. 4th highest rated show 2 weeks ago according to BARB)
So overall very tame competition at 9PM
10PM
BBC 1 - BBC News at 10 (That's some good competition. Ranked 17th on BBC1 with 4.39m 2 weeks ago. But people who watch big brother don't normally switch over to watch the news!)
BBC 2 - The Trip (Got 890K overnight last week. No worries!)
ITV 1 - ITV news (Not too sure, doesn't rank in the top 30 but I would expect 2m roughly)
Channel 4 - Sarah Millican Chatterbox live (Not sure as it's a new series but she is very popular so this could rate well. Well for Channel 4 that is :joker:

Sorry to make a triple post but I think this eviction will absolutely smash it in the ratings. A lot of casual viewers will think that this is the final eviction and therefore most important!
Plus the laughable competition will help so much. About 2m including +1

Yeah. Not including soaps BBC 1 and ITV struggle to reach the 5 million mark even though it's weekly

Im going for 1.8 but it deserves 2 million.

Big Brother's Bit on the Side followed with 861k (6.9%) at 10.30pm.

Article in OK! about rise in ratings.
IT's been a hit.
Big Brother 2013 has been a hit in the ratings.
As the Channel 5 show nears the big finale, it has been revealed that viewing figures for this year's series have gone up since last year.
The 'Secrets and Lies'-themed show has been watched by an average of 1.5 million people, 12% more than 2012.
The show has kept viewers hooked with hidden twists and shenanigans of housemates including Dexter Koh, Gina Rio and Hazel O'Sullivan.
Roll on the next series, we say
Looking good for next year.
http://www.ok.co.uk/celebrity-news/view/66613/Big-Brother-2013-Secret-and-Lies-series-is-ratings-winner
I don't think we give BB the credit it deserves when it comes to ratings especially when its beating BAFTA award winning shows (TOWIE & Made In Chelsea) which both get huge media attention compared to BB.
TOWIE: Averaged 1.29 last series
Made In Chelsea: Averaged 900,000 and those are both official figures.
Jake.

Great rating and a nice article, BB14 seems to be getting good press
just a shame about the launches getting low ratings, could have really helped the average if they had some proper, decent promotion for what is essentially a rebooted - rebooted series

1m excl +1. Around 1.1m incl +1, standard for every Saturday. Looks bad, BUT Ch5 came 2nd in it's slot. Everything else did badly too.
Up against BB:
BBC1- Mrs Browns Boys- 4.09m
BBC2- Q1 XL- 700k
ITV- The Americans- 860k
Ch4- Braveheart- 430k
Ch5- Big Brother- 1.0m
So when you look at it like that, not too bad at all :p

The fact it beat ITV. BBC2 and Channel 4 is brilliant.
Yes it looks low but not 1 episode has dropped beneath 1 million this year which is a first since its move to Channel 5.

Some good ratings there.
On wiki it says its averaging 1.79 without these latest officials so well up on last years 1.6 and surely that will climb when these figures are added?
Annoying theres loads of +1 figures missing this year as it would be a fair bit higher.

Channel 5 has said it’s pleased with the ratings performance of Big Brother 2013: Secrets & Lies, with the series audience up 6% on last year.
According to details released last week, the current run has achieved a consolidated average audience of 1.9million viewers.
This is an increase of 200,000 on Big Brother 13′s 1.7million viewers, making it the most watched public series of Big Brother since the show moved to Channel 5 in 2011.
Meanwhile, the broadcaster also claims BB14 has proven a hit in its target demographics, reaching a total of 22million viewers – including 6million 16-34s and 3million housewives.
Nick Bampton, C5′s commercial sales director, said: “Great housemates and all the twists and turns the show has delivered have meant we’ve seen this really encouraging uplift in audience.
“It bodes well as we approach the final and then the launch of Celebrity Big Brother.”
C5 renewed its deal for Big Brother with production company Endemol last April, ensuring it will remain on our screens until at least the end of 2014.
The Big Brother final airs next Monday at 9.00pm and 10.55pm, before Celebrity Big Brother returns next Thursday at 9.00pm.

Very poor.
The final really needed to be this Friday and not dragged out till next week.
Sad to see a series that kept rising just fizzle out.
If the series IS going to peter out, at least it's happening now rather than midway through the run. For the most part, it's performed brilliantly and has, I hope, sealed the show beyond 2014.

Noone really seems to know whats going on with it this week, The constant time changes, the failed f2f noms without the phone lines opening and then the bad editing.

Around 1.58million, around 10% audience share, very nice figure for c5 there.
Good to see it rebound, 1.3mil is abysmal (BB13 figures)...Should at the very least hit 1.65 tonight. I'd make it a shock double eviction tonight.
And have a slightly longer interview for the remaining housemate's in monday's final.

Saturdays are typically low anyway and don't bother me.
Its this finale rating we need to give the series average a 1.9 or possibly 2 million if it draws in the viewers.

Haven't been following the ratings recently, is it looking likely that the series average will be higher than BB13?Yes it will be higher but i dont necessarily buy into all the hype that it is increasing year on year because its getting better.
Last year it was up against the olympics and the year before that there was no +1 to boost it which hampered those series.
The likelyhood is that its holding steady and the same audience is there they just arent distracted by other things this year.

This years up around 300k on BB13.
Loads of +1 figures missing this year which sucks.
Looking forward to tomorrows officials with the whole Hazel and Gina arguments im expecting high ratings which will put the average up and hopefully a good rating for the final.

1.26m (5.7%) at 9pm (164k/1.0%).
Im not confident about the finale hitting 2 million tonight.
Theres no hype.

Not a great figure by any means, but then sundays haven't been as high as the weeknights all series in general.
Tonight will see a boost by at least 300-400,000 i would of thought.
Like Dan, i'm not sure it will hit the 2million but it doesn't matter a great deal anyway.
Been a great success with ratings average well up, if the final could top the launch even better.
The 2nd part should bring in around 1.3-1.5million so the share should be very high, could well be a slot winner.

I don't believe it will reach 2million, it'll probably just get an average eviction night rating of 1.7ish... especially as there's an hour break/it only finishes at 11:30pm (on a MONDAY!!)

Mon 1.79 exc plus one
Tues 1.98 inc plus one
Wed 1.76 inc plus one
Thurs 1.92 exc plus one
Fri 2.03 inc plus one

Appalling??
It was after 11pm, the audience share was almost 1/5th of the viewing public avaliable, and 4/5 times above the slot average for the channel. It done great. BB's skew a fair amount of young viewers. Alot would of gone to bed.
I was worried it would bomb at 11pm, but to peak at nearly 2million at that time is very impressive.

Slight error. Part 2 actually averaged 1.74m not 1.7
I meant more that it was put in a position that it was going to get under 2 mill. It did do well though - but if that's with plus one, it meant that live it was below 2 mill.
Hopefully the officials will make it look even more respectable. :)

Ok so just make it simple the BB final averaged 2.09 including plus 1.
Lets not round up and post **** loads of figures to make it look better.
Its the highest rated civilian BB in 3 years which is brilliant and all we wanted was the final to crack 2 million but don't forget BB12 final officially got 2.20 million.
What do you think the BB14 final will get officially going by the trend of this years ratings?
I still think if the final was last Friday we would have seen it reach a 2.5 average.
Bots would have also attracted well over 1 million if it were on at 10:30 pm.
Scheduling team ****ed up big time but im happy this year has had so many ratings hit above 2 million which is something we thought we would never see especially after the poor launch nights.
Not thrilled but pleased.
To be honest I didn't enjoy the final it was all to rushed but it was a brilliant series overall.

It could have potentially just beat it if they didn't have the hour break and kept it all as one show. I imagine quite a few people would've tuned in during the last 30ish minutes to see the winner announced.

Ben Frow mentions BB14's ratings in this press release about the channel's return to original drama:
Ben Frow, Director of Programmes Channel 5 said “Along with our new drama we’ve got other new commissions that I think keep the channel fresh and exciting. Big Brother this year has performed better than ever before and these new shows – and the many more we are also working on add texture and diversity to the schedule and will play nicely alongside the rest of the schedule”

They have been released but DigitalSid put them in the CBB thread, probs just a mistake.
Good ratings but thought Hazel eviction would have been slightly higher.
Mon 5th - 1.79m (not inc+1*, assume 1.89m**)
Tue 6th - 1.99m
Wed 7th - 1.76m
Thu 8th - 1.92m (not inc+1*, assume 2.02m**)
Fri 9th - 2.03m
Sat 10th - 1.36m (not inc+1*, assume 1.45m**)
Sun 11th - 1.74m
So pissed off at all the missing plus 1 figures this year.
Current series average 1.8 million and with the last few days added and the two part final should officially reach Part 1: 2.4 million - Part 2: 2.0 million
It should bump that up quite a bit.
The 4 day dip after Hazel left wont do it any favours though.
Whats annoying is that it defo would have rated at 2 million if we had all those missing plus 1 figures to add to it which had many episodes well above the 2 million mark.
When the finals officials come out then BB14 will quite comfortably be above the BB12/BB13 1.6 million average Hoping a 1.9 and 300k increase overall.
Imaging the difference a bigger launch would have made.
Thank you Ben Frow!!

Should point out that the missing +1s mean they were outside C5+1's top 10, so below the lowest in the top 10 for this week which was 123k, hence my 100k assumption. Doesn't really matter if we know them for sure just yet, C5 do and one of the paid subscribers on DS will have them when we want to compare them next year, they are only likely to be out by 20k on the assumption, unlikely to have fallen below it, so make little difference to us at the moment.

Ok so according to Wiki
Final part 1: 2.20
Final part 2: 1.96
Up around 500k on last years final.
Im so pissed off that these do not include the +1 ratings yet again.
There seems to be a +1 thief working at BARB this year.
Thought it would have time shifted a bit more to be honest but it basically kept its audience through the whole series from start to end.
When you look at BB13 for example
BB13 launched with 2.93 million but lost around 1.3 million by the end with its final only getting 1.76 officially.
Series average: 1.81 million

Agree, it's so annoying that the +1 was missing. I reckon the overall average of the series is actually rounded up to 1.9m. Around 1/3 of the official ratings don't include +1, so that could make the change. Will we ever find the lost ratings?
