..ok Ceecee, I can understand where you're coming from with those two scenarios but if you tell me that Kevin MaCallister didn't outwit the robbers, Marty McFly didn't go back to the future in a DeLorean or Tom Hanks didn't become big overnight, then we're through..:hmph:....

I can only confirm for Marty but not the others.

standing on my glasses

snapping my glasses

the thought of having to book an appointment with my optometrist

having to go to the appointment

having to sit through the appointment with this weird dude looking up close at my eyes

paying for new glasses

them not having any I like

when I could have just not stepped on them

and i might just see if I can super glue them together

I was obsessed with LOST - I think I even stopped finding it interesting for a little while but I had committed to watching it by that point, I'd already seen three and a bit series of it, seemed pointless to stop watching so I held out until the end... it got better again but yeah, if I'm properly hooked to a TV program, I need to watch it all... find it hard to get into programs now though :(

Don't get whats so entertaining about it, rather listen to them talk about interesting stuff/do some good old tasks, normally switch over when they start fighting

hands down the best ep of a 5 BB for me was the one where Denise pulled down the twins pants, such a great night lol. But I agree to a certain extent, shame that the tasks now are pretty dire so drama is required a bit more.

Ammi

Am I on my own in hating fights/arguments on BB??

must be, not here for watching them sip tea I'm afraid

...hmmm, I don't think it's about them sipping tea though..that would be really boring to watch, I agree...but for me, I think the problem is with the last few series is that BB just seem to put the most 'controversial' clashes of personality in and so that creates the drama which a lot of people like...but when all you get is that drama/arguments..it becomes just as boring as sipping tea...to keep it interesting for me and for me to be able to find a housemate I can support, there needs to be a balance of personalities and more of a balance of highlights shown...it doesn't matter how 'exciting/drama packed' it is, if it's the same old, same old then it becomes boring...well, for me anyway...

Drew.

..yeah, they were great friendship but what made the whole series good as well was that there was also drama etc but that wasn't all there was and it wasn't, oh let's see how far we can push this thing into the 'shocking zone'....

The first series channel 5 did was probably one of my favourites. It had good friendships, a bit of romance, game playing and it had entertaining rivalries that weren't arguing or bitching 24/7 but getting up to little tricks to try and point score (Anton and Aaron) and it had quite a few highlights that I can remember clearly.

King Gizzard
09-01-2014, 06:08 AM

Ammi
09-01-2014, 06:15 AM
i dont get how some people have bibliographic knowledge of it i can't remember much either

..yeah, but I guess that's more comparable to the ordinary BB because the celebrity one is different and by nature of celebrities, it's always more self absorbed and they're not generally interested in finding out about each other or friendships but just in trying to get what they themselves want out of it..it's not all of them but I think it is with most and especially reality TV stars who kind of 'know the game'..and even if they think they will be unpopular with their actions, they still know what will be highlighted and there's no such thing as bad publicity etc...

..but yeah, I agree...when people say BB 7 was the best or whatever, I have to look up who was in BB7 because I can't remember each series like that...

King Gizzard
09-01-2014, 06:20 AM
The glory days of having bblb on during tea, then he main show and bbbm followed by live feed ...then falling asleep when the hms did...great routine in the summer..good times

I loved crappy ch4 bb, this new one sux

Ammi
09-01-2014, 06:23 AM
..also..(and this isn't meant to be controversial or provocative or anything..)..but I've always thought that in a way BB kind of reflected the forum..?..or the other way round but in that we're all quite different and maybe in our every day lives, we wouldn't meet and chat and learn lots of things from each other etc and that's lovely, it's what makes the forum great and makes a 'community' type thing...but when it's constant sniping/arguing etc on the forum, which has occasionally happened, it makes it not such a good place to be but if it's too quiet and no one is posting etc, then it's equally not a great place but for different reasons..?...so really, it's a balance of drama/and not drama lol that's needed and for me it's the same with BB..I don't want the constant 'drama', it's just not good....

..sorry, over thinking all of this...

Ammi
09-01-2014, 06:23 AM
..but anyway, yeah lol...

I did enjoy it, but it was more like 'BB does TOWIE' rather than an actual series of Big Brother. I think that the editing has slightly improved as we've moved on and the housemates have become far more varied rather than the oldest housemate being 30.

That is something that irritates me, if my mother sees me laughing at something online, you can guarantee that she will ask me what I'm laughing at. Usually it's something that wouldn't be appropriate to tell or, otherwise it's something she wouldn't understand, so then I tell her nothing and she reverses my laugh into seething and copious amounts of death-glares. :fist:

I had a German girl complain to me at 100mph in fluent English that her English was terrible and she was going to fail her exams, I just laughed and pointed that out to her and it didn't matter what an exam qualification said, she was fluent in English and she totally chilled out, think that was one of my proudest moments as a teacher :D it is SO annoying though when someone claims they're crap at something and they totally aren't.

I feel your pain - I went to the doctor in August about getting a cyst removed and it's not being done until April. That took 5 different medical opinions before that could happen. Unreal.

there's a group on tumblr called rock groupies and I...I..have no words

anonymous asked:

I want to sleep with a musician, but he is married. I can't help but think doing anything other than talking with him would be immoral, even though I think we both want to do it. Any advice?

Hi

If you don’t think it would be right to go any further, then don’t do it - never do what you’re not comfortable doing! I do think it would be a good idea to talk to him about what he thinks/feels though, it may help you decide what to do next. Lots of people have different ideas when it comes to what is moral or immoral, and they can be quite different when it comes to touring musicians - I bet you’ve heard of MAHSOR: Married at Home, Single on the Road.

What I can say is never judge people on their morals, and never accept judgement from other people on your beliefs. There’s no absolute right and wrong, it’s all relative to who is involved.

Rachel xx

What Rachel said!
Morals are different for every single person, we aren’t here to tell you what yours should be.

Here’s a post I wrote a while ago that might interest you:

..for me, morals don't come into it..I think that a couple who are committed can choose their own boundaries of what they think is acceptable and that could be anything in that it could be agreed that the rockstar could be with other people while he was on the road..?..but if he's the only one who has agreed it and it betrays what their commitment is to each other and goes beyond whatever boundaries they have as a couple then it's just cheating and nothing more or nothing less...or am I overthinking your post lol....

..I don't want to nag but I think maybe you'll be happier with yourself if you read over it and you're happy with everything..?...thinking, oh, I wished I had....etc ..is a bit of a rubbish feeling but then it's out of your control to do anything about it....

I sent him stuff about an hour and a half ago... I edited some of the stuff I'd written and wrote up some new stuff, it's for my dissertation, I've recycled info I used for another essay and I'm not even sure if it's okay for me to do that but it's just so he can see my progress and point out where I'm going right/wrong with things... I have so much work to do, being ill over the holidays was the worst possible timing :/

what I need to learn to master is turning off every distraction (this board being one of them) and focus on what needs to be done. Also it helps to look at the big picture. Like why am I doing this again? This will lead to? Because if we just think about how boring, tiring it is right now it is hard to do anything, let alone do our best.

..if you break it down though Ceecee, there won't be anything in it that you don't know or can't do, it's just the thought of these things and knowing how to start it but maybe try not to think of the whole thing because that seems too huge and scary, so just break it all down into little bits that you feel comfortable with and then do each one of them at a time...you can do it, I know you can do it and you know that as well...and try to remember the reasons why you wanted to do it why it was important to you ..
