Oh God it's that hideously unfunny comedian with the same hair and beard as Justin Lee Collins on now. You're right, all the guests on all the chat shows ARE terrible recently

I'll pop down and find out how many people have died (everything in Scotland is on the same street)
A whole street? That's generous. I'd describe Scotland as a high rise block of council flats.
One of my friends at uni is from Birmingham and she keeps saying "I swear everyone in Scotland went to the same school, you all seem to know each other" and then it keeps coming out that people know people in common from weird places; like my friend from school lived with a guy and a girl last year. The guy's ex lived in a flat with a girl on our uni course; and the girl's brother got married earlier this year and her sister in law's bridesmaid was a girl I work with.
My friend and her flatmates live in Edinburgh. I live in Glasgow and I'm from Aberdeen. The bridesmaid is from Ireland. Small world.

Probs because there are no potential pop stars on the show and it's obvious that either Sam will win because she's the best singer or Kimberley Walsh will win because she needs something to do now that Girls Aloud are over
Tom4784
14-12-2013, 12:08 AM
They need Wagner.
I always think scotland is quite large just because of all the remote places
It is I suppose, but I guess if you live in a city then it's about 90% certain that you could meet someone from any city in Scotland roughly in your age range and establish that you know people in common, it's weird.

sean walsh is terrible
the other one who's exactly the same as him too... josh widdicombe i think his name is
King Gizzard
14-12-2013, 12:10 AM
Sam needs to win just for her sake, she has no future in pop/can just get the pay packet and release an album now, Nicholas is just awful and Luke would be alright but no one will take him seriously in his genre of music because he's come from the XF. No one will be successful out of this series, except for maybe Tamera who might get a few features on a few singles then probably get a deal when she is 18

The name doesn't ring a bell but if he's as terrible as Sean Walsh I'm not even going to bother googling him to find out
I find Sarah Millican funny, I think it's her delivery more than anything

The last time I watched the X Factor properly was when Little Mix won because after they did that cool performance of E.T. I thought they would be amazing popstars and then they kept surprising everyone and getting through and I just knew they'd be a smash success when they won, you can just tell with some acts that they have the it factor. The judges/producers seem to have lost sight of that in recent years bar the odd exception, choosing gimmicks and no-marks over actual marketable talent (emphasis on both marketable and talent) in order to put on an entertainment show rather than aiming to find actual potential popstars which surely would earn Syco more money at the end of the day?
I think that's why it's going down the pan, people are bored because they aren't being entertained anymore

Definitely - you can usually figure out a connection if you know where someone's from, the schools they went to, who their parents are and what they do, any siblings and where they've lived and worked. Not that it's like a sit down questionnaire  but it's just always so common to find out you know people in common isn't it?
Oh bloody Michael Bublé's on now. Can hear the personality vacuum hoovering away

Definitely, there are always so many talented people on there and in every series there's at least one or two acts that leave you in awe, that Attraction group that won the most recent series were just incredible
X Factor's just weird, it doesn't know if it wants to be a camp entertainment show or a "serious, credible music competition trying to find the next big artist" - it can't be both!

BGT is annoying for all the singers on there, and the unoriginal acts on there *coughattractioncough* I've seen what they do live much better than how they do it (I thought they were quite awful at the Royal Variety Performance..)
and without trying to sound xenophobic surely BGT should be about..british acts
Yeah I find having singers on BGT is a bit crap. Opera singers - absolutely. Somebody singing a Katy Perry song - no.

Agree
Also can they stop bringing out the gospel choirs and tea light candles every single year at the X Factor final?
In fact I'd like to see a small (10 people max??) gospel group get through to the X Factor live shows, rework some pop songs as gospel songs - no idea if the public would support it but at least it'd be something a bit different instead of the inevitable no-hoper boy band, dislikeable girl band and creepy girlfriend/boyfriend or brother/sister duo they put through every year

Nah she was an over the top stage school drama queen without the talent to back it up, but she definitely got way too much hate. It's because of the editing and the way they hype everything up, they love to create a hate figure
They need a male judge with a personality on there to replace Louis Walsh and it has to be a popstar. The judging panel should only be popstars. They don't necessarily have to be current popstars but they at least have to be recognisable from recent years.

I don't understand why more people don't hate her, she's from the most beige girl band to ever be successful (ha) in the UK; if you watch them perform she never does the choreography properly because she's too busy playing with her hair and giving the camera stink eye, she can't sing (not that she's the only one in The Saturdays guilty of that), clearly only got in the band because Frankie did and they thought it would be cool to have two S Club Juniors in the same group to promote the whole "FRIENDS!!!!!" thing that all girl bands must have, she's got this overbearing personality and talks over the others in interviews and never shuts up about Marvin, she's two years older than me and she acts like they've been married for decades AAAAHHHHHHHH I HATE HER SO MUCH GET OFF MY GRILL YOU'RE NOTHING, NOTHING!!!!

I just went to the shop and 'Kiss Kiss' by Holly Valance was playing and it took all my willpower not to shake my ass there and then.
I was walking up the road one day listening to November Rain by guns n roses on my iPod... And without thinking I played imaginary drums.. I was on my own and mortified!

..that's one of the good things about working at a school/with young children..you can randomly think of something and laugh out loud or hear a tune and start to move to it and they just think oh, that's what she does/we know that...nothing to see here....
I slut dropped the other day at work to Iggy Azealia /sob

Lol.. Yeah they basically get an Argos catalogue and write everything down from there. They do always finish their 4 sided letter to Santa with "I don't want everything on this list, it's just to give you a few ideas" lol
Oh and this year Lara has started asking for things "for the family" to soften the blow a bit. She wants a 3ds for herself and a ps3 for the whole family
Her letter finished this year by saying "please go to Africa this year and please make sure the Philippines have a good Christmas" :(

....awww, that last bit is so lovely, she must be a really thoughtful person..<3..
...haha, my boys would sometime want to but their dad stuff that they wanted for his birthday because that's just before Christmas...I think the idea was that they wouldn't have to wait so long to play vid games/watch dvds...this year my eldest son is taking his dad to see the Hobbit at the cinema but I think it might be because his girlfriend doesn't want to see it....I used to love looking through catalogues when I was a child and imagining that I could choose something from every page...did you do that as well..?...

Definitely! Talking of catalogues my husband recently told me that when he was a lad he used to cut out all the ladies in bras and knickers... Then cut their heads off and try all the different heads on the different bodies. :/
I think that's rather sweet! Do you act all surprised and stuff whilst opening them?
I would be SO over the top about it if that were me, it would be great fun. I'd gasp theatrically at every opened present and say "this is so unexpected!"
We're the same in our family, nobody ever wants anything specifically so we just end up getting ****e for each other that nobody really needs or wants so this year my parents have just said they're giving us some money to use however we like, I'll just keep it for when I'm back down at uni because I barely earn anything in my job at the call centre.
Mum's away out on a girls night out tonight and my dad and brother were both at the football, dad went out to the pub after and is now bringing home a takeaway :amazed: what a man

..oh, did you not do that though..?..not with underwear, but just generally fit weird/odd heads and bodies/limbs together..?..it was a bit like those paper dress up thing you could get..with the tabs that you folded over..?..only with limbs/heads instead of clothes....

Bioshock Infinite is one of the best storys i've ever played in a game
Shaun my parents do the same thing; I have to shop for my own stuff
..it sounds like a good deal to me, everyone gets what they want...you could mix it up by buying yourselves the thing you would hate to receive most as a gift and then saying ...oh, noooooo whattttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.......
You could just hide the stuff they've got themselves and give them some other stuff and piss them off
..this is beginning to sound a lot like Christmas....

I replied earlier but it didn't send. :bored:
I just got a package from a friend in another part of Portugal today, she sent me some teas that I drank while I was there and it was very nostalgic and made me feel very happy inside! :D
I usually don't worry about giving my address to people online, as long as they'll tell me theirs too it doesn't bother me at all, I like sending Christmas cards and I always expect people to have the option to access my address if I get theirs. :joker:
