It's more complex than that, it's my childhood friend from nursery/primary school - we were friends beyond that until we were about 15 because our mums are best friends and we were still really similar, and then school exams started and we were allowed social lives that weren't dictated by our parents so we spent more time with our respective school friends and drifted apart, and then when we were 17 we got back in touch because we'd finished school and we had a long summer to hang out and I introduced him (foolishly) to some of my school friends...

Since then he's worked his way into my group of friends and befriended people one on one - one friend got him a job at Topman and introduced him to a girl he started dating; he then turned on my friend because he accused him of hitting on the girl so I unfollowed him on Twitter because he kept taking pot shots at my friend over Twitter; he then confronted me about unfollowing him (lol) so I said I didn't enjoy seeing him attack my friends. He then made a point of befriending one of my female friends and flirting with her for the next two years (still on-going) and more recently has picked up one of my impressionable friends as a wing man for nights out because he has a flat in town with the girl that my non-friend keeps flirting with. I should mention that my impressionable friend didn't drink alcohol or go on nights out until my non-friend offered the branch of "friendship" and he's now turned my friend into a weird mini-me; he dresses in shirts and blazers that don't suit him (he was never into fashion before) and goes out all the time with my non-friend, ostensibly to "pick up birds" but of course my friend never does because he's a nice guy and he'd rather cook a girl a steak dinner than try and take advantage of one; and my non friend ends up sleeping in their living room on the sofa bed with whichever cretin he's picked up that night.

So after watching him work his way through my group of friends, I decided to just chum up to him so I could keep an eye on him, which has worked to an extent because now my impressionable friend has started to complain here and there to me about the annoying **** my non-friend does, so I'm hoping that eventually he'll ditch him and I don't have to pretend to like him anymore. He's a social climber and he uses people. He's not... malicious per se, but he just likes to be in charge. I was shown a text he'd sent my impressionable friend, where my friend had said "sorry dude, I was getting with (girl that non-friend had been with ONE TIME) last night and then realised who she was so I stopped, hope you're not mad at me" which I think is more than I would have said if I were him, I wouldn't have said anything at all, but the reply goes along the lines of "well I suppose it's okay this one time because you didn't know but NEVER do that again, that's why we work well as a team, we tell each other things and we never betray each other like that."

The guy's shagged half the flipping city! I'm all for the "bro code" but come on, if you've pumped and dumped some impressionable girl, you can't expect everyone you know to be up to speed on who you've been with.

I dunno... we used to be best friends, I know he's not an awful person, but he became really self involved and vain as soon as we turned 18 and he realised that girls like tall boys with blonde hair, he's insufferable to talk to nowadays for the most part - there are moments when we feel like proper friends again when we hang out but then we go long periods without seeing each other because I'm at uni and I just think he's a dick whenever I see his updates online.

And Adventureland is a great movie, not really a comedy but it starts Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg and it's kinda a quirky romance set in the 80s I think. I think it's a great movie.

..Smithy, I can honestly say that Scott didn't know I was going to make the thread..mainly because I didn't want to get his hopes up..(if it would get his hopes up..)...anyway what I did genuinely forget to say though, is that I did tell him after I made the thread, because I felt bad about making a thread about someone and them not being aware of it..that seemed wrong..and that's why he would have known about it and decided to make a post..which, I also didn't know he was going to do, we didn't discuss it at all until after he had made his post as well because he didn't send a reply to my message telling him I had made the thread..confusing lol/but true story....
