Can >>>>
Only played 20 mins but looked so good on the ball and was great tracking back. Borini was busting a gut as well after every ball, wasn't surprised when I saw he had told Rodgers he wanted to fight for his place at Liverpool after the game. Rossiter was great when he came on, can't wait to see him in the first team in a couple of years. The Ibe and Peterson dream team strikes again as well. Great to see Enrique back and Flanagan is a tank.
Negatives.. Lucas :( Pretty poor after returning from injury last season and looks so much more off the pace than everybody else in the past 2 games. Wisdom didn't look all that convincing at CB and I've been waiting to see him play there for a couple of years.
Will be good to have all the World Cup players back for the US tour in a few days.

Felt the same until they purposely bent over for City at the end of last season to make sure we didn't win the title, both the fans and players. Barkley was the only one that came out of that game with any credit.

Everton GK Tim Howard will continue his punditry work for NBCSN, the US Broadcasters of the EPL.
He signed a multi year deal, will be doing punditry work sparingly like last year. Only scheduled to do either studio work or commentary for 10 games.

West Ham footballer Ravel Morrison has been charged with assaulting two women, police said.
Morrison, 21, of Urmston, is accused of attacking a 19-year old woman outside a bar in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday.
He is further charged with assaulting her and a second woman, aged 39, at an address in Salford hours later.
The footballer is due before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court later.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At about 3.20am on Sunday police were called to an address on Alexandra Road, Peel Green, Salford, following reports a 19-year-old woman and a 39-year-old woman had been assaulted.
"Officers attended and established the young woman had also been assaulted outside a bar in Manchester city centre earlier that evening and a 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested at a later date."

That's pretty good
But I was thinking maybe double that with another 0 :worry:
I could justify it by telling myself it's the £600 winnings from the World Cup final... just about
Only doubt I have if is we sign another big name striker, but that's looking unlikely at this point. Sturridge being the focal point of our attack I could honestly see him getting 30 goals regardless where we end up finishing.
So confident Sturridge will be top scorer I'm tempted to put something silly big on it...
I urge you not to be silly, you saw the world cup, the guy couldn't hit a barn door.
Lukaku will score more than him.
Samuel.
15-08-2014, 12:50 PM
Those 3 games do render the previous 33 where he scored 24 goals irrelevant, that is true...
Locke.
15-08-2014, 12:52 PM
It was all set up for Arsenal to be the big club that dropped points on the opening weekend, Palace just had to ruin it by sacking Pulis didn't they.
Guess Utd will have to do.
I'm very confidant for Everton this season, I think we have a first team that can compete with and beat any team in the league.
I think we've got a real good balance in our team with Baines and Piennar arguably the best left hand side partnership in the league, and the machine Coleman down the right.
Our Goalkeeper has turned in to a very solid and reliable underrated player.
Lukaku was a massive signing that we kept him, he's a complete striker fast, strong, great work rate and scores goals.
Barry gives us that experience and leadership in the middle and holds the team together
Jagielka missed a massive chunk of last season, so it will be massive for us to get him back at the heart of the defence, and young Stones will be pushing for place after his end of last season form.
Barkley brings us that bit of X factor that can turn a game in one moment of brilliance, and he should be a much more improved and consistent player now after his little taste of world cup experience.
But the player I think is gonna be big for us is Naysmith, he brings real energy to the team, works real hard and is a real threat when bursting forward.
Really think we have a good bunch there, but the test will be if we get a lot of injuries.
I'm confident we'll get a top 4 finish.
Come on you Blues

Pretty confident we will challenge for the title all season, can't get past the injuries though, they are bound to ruin our season again. Best chance for years to win the league though, should be a good season.

Have the love the state Fergie left this squad in looool the utter imbalance
Good to see the Black Hummells Blackett starting though fully deserved
Happy for Lingard but considering neither him or Adnan can defend Adnan should be starting as he is the superior playing on the ball
Hope Fatty decides to LET IT FLY today which with Swansea being a small club I fully expect him too

You need to sign at least 2 new CB's and another wing back. Young looks alright there but the others don't at all.. But that defence is just waiting to be ripped apart, it was the same in the friendly with us the other week, if there was some pace and skill there instead of Bony/Lambert then it would be a lot worse.
Swansea are looking pretty comfortable at the minute anyway, but Rooney will get a goal.
Legend killer
16-08-2014, 12:41 PM
Fatty as useless as last year
Fletcher not going to fill the hole in midfield fit or not
Young back down to earth
Shinji still our best number 10 yet sits on bench
LVG needs to have a reality check and fast the team fergie left is gash and needs serious rebuilding and unlike the Dutch Mata and Fatty don't have the pace to make this formation function
As i said Moyes should have been allowed the summer to bring in his players and even with LVG this is a 2-3 year process

I reckon that's a cover for how useless Woodward is. We signed players before van Gaal had even seen any of the current players kick a ball in training. No way is even the likes of van Gaal going to come out and say, 'Woodward has tried to go for players, but he's fooking useless.'... better to say 'assessing the squad'. And I'd find it hard to believe he's still assessing.

LVG can't work miracles. I think this is the message he is sending to the Glazers.

**** sakes, was hoping it would take a while for teams to get on to the fact that if you stop Coutinho this season you stop pretty much our entire attack (until Lallana/Markovic are fit, maybe). Pre-season and today has made it seem like he is the one that will replace Suarez in the creativity part of our game, every single thing in the oppositions part of the pitch has been going through him. The change in formation when we took him off and brought Lambert on really saved us today, we'd have probably lost otherwise.
Lovren and Manquillo look very good though, but Johnson is still a disaster and I'd like to see Sakho play over Skrtel and move Lovren to RCB.

Torres done it in Spain,England,CL and International Stage so it's understandable why he was considered higher than Sturridge is at the moment. If Sturridge has a killer CL campaign then it will go a long way for his "status".

While the Glazers money pinching from 09-12 has set us a far way off from Europe's elite, they have provided the funds the last few transfer windows. Begrudgingly always been sad about how his career has turned out. I do wonder if he regrets the move at all. Obviously he's gone on to win a lot at Chelsea, but even beyond his important goals for club and country he'll always primarily be remembered as one of the most expensive flops ever. And as you say, he's never looked like he's enjoyed his time there understandably. Went from a borderline Liverpool legend to a joke...

Samuel.
17-08-2014, 09:55 PM
Absolutely. I think any Liverpool fan will tell you that. Torres was loved almost on Gerrard levels. Suarez, despite being a much better player, never had the fans adoring him like Nando did. He was worshiped.
He was vocal about needing to be somewhere to win trophies I think I recall, but we were in a much worse state at the time than we are currently.
Locke.
17-08-2014, 10:55 PM
Yeah, Torres leaving was heartbreaking. Probably because it came out of nowhere as well, and the way he went about it. A transfer request with about 48 hours of the window left, no time to find a good replacement (we had already agreed the deal for Suarez but he was supposed to be coming in to play with Torres, not replacing him). Turned out to be an amazing deal for us though.
They were actually talking about bringing him back or not on LFCTV earlier. I'd love it if we brought him back but it's mainly for sentimental reasons tbh, I don't think he is ever going to be half the player he was. Maybe a season long loan, but I don't think Chelsea really want to do any business with us after we ****ed them over so many times in the transfer market :joker:
