hoping these next few days gets a bump in official ratings, with storeroom gate yesterday and Brian trying to run up the walls to escape in tonights, i'd like to think that'll create a small buzz!
'Brian Belo' has been trending on Facebook as quite a few newspapers have been reporting it, so I think the officials should definitely raise the ratings by a few hundred thousand. Unfortunately I'm not sure whether him leaving will actually cause the ratings to suffer in the long term.
Will.
24-06-2015, 11:15 PM
with Brian trending first on Twitter and all of it I think it will at least get 1.2 for tonights
Jake.
25-06-2015, 09:32 AM
1.25 (7.9%)
That's excl +1! Will be 1.3 without it. Wow.
Jake.

1.35 inc +1, highest since the launch
Will.

lmao producers must be laughing, everyone slagging the show off but the rating are improving.
People who say they won't watch because of Helen are clearly lying lmao

They will definitely keep in the legends for another week then!

What has become of the show when we're all excited by 1.35
They'd better not keep Helen another week, that would just lower the tone of the show even further but if they absolutely insist they'd better not keep Marc immune again. :nono:

I know right.
That rating for BB14/BB15, and we'd all be saying "R.I.P BB."
Watch in 2017, when we're all excited by 800k, compared to the 600k episode the night before.

25-06-2015, 04:01 PM
So as an official were probably likely to see 1.5 or even 1.6 which is nice, I'm hoping Ashylene will also give ratings an increase or keep them on par however it seems bizarre she's entering without a live show, perhaps she's literally there until Friday like the other two legends?

With the ratings boost I could see the producers trying to stretch Helen/Nikki to stay in longer.

What they really need to do is remove Helen they would kind of redeem themselves for the win and the free pass.
Make a task to cause drama so when she goes to far they can remove her that will bring in the ratings then for a twist give the housemates the choice of if they want to keep Nikki as a main housemate and be eligible to win the show.
Cant believe I voted for Helen to win last year she needs putting in her place.
C'mon BB grow some balls and throw her out on her arse.
Nikki has been legendary again without even really doing anything lol shes just great to watch.

lol, I think this is the third time I've agreed with you today. But yeah, the ratings keep going up because of the nonstop drama and the controversy that the legends are bringing. And yet, people on the forums keep complaining about them and want them to leave. Its quite hilarious really. The legends have been the only good thing about this series.

Not every member of the viewing public posts on here. Tonight was my last night - I'll pop on & off to read comments in TIBB, that's about it. I stopped watching BBOTS last series - can't stand Rylan & Emma or the rowdy rent-a-crowd.

It's a shame what has to happened for the ratings to climb.

That's a big plus 1 .
Well done Aisleyne lol.
That ws a classic BB episode and even though the first 2 weeks were terrible they really have redeemed themselves it hould be getting 1.8 for highlights in my opinion its had soooooo much drama.
Brian Belo scaling the house and leaving via the roof only brought in 1.35? Whats happened? When Daley went all bunny boiler on Hazel ratings hit over 2 million in officials.
If Nikki cnt pul in the viewers then noon will.
Civillian BB is dead.
Next year expect our fav show to be on MTV..........Just being realistic.

They have really painted themselves into a corner with this series. They pretty much shat on the whole premise of BB to gain about 0.2 - 0.3 on the ratings what will they do next year?? There is nowhere to go now.

thats my thinking too, the stunts they are pulling will only work once. I'm only watching now out of morbid curiosity, how many others are the same. This could easily be the last viable civilian BB

there probs do an all star series next year. I don think CH5 will take it off, 1-1.4 M is good for them, they can barely scrap 1M, so getting 1M overnight is decent for them.

Is this all the proof we need that they'll likely scrap BB next year for an all-star BB series, seems logical considering these 'legends' have upped ratings a mere 200-300K.
Like where else can the show go, we've had every feasible twist and eviction and shock arrival etc. I honestly struggle to see how they can keep the momentum over the next 3 years without a mass change up in advertisement to pull in punters across the board.
And let's face it, compared with other years which have had Wimbledon and the Olympics, it's doing pretty poorly to say there isn't actually that much strong competition imo. I also hope they return the show to a June start. 12 days of advertisement just isn't enough for a £40,000,000 show! C5 have a habit of changing things that don't need to be fixed. It's their fault things are in the state they are.
Also, 6 more editions of CBB, how can there honestly be another 70-80 celebrities to do the show that haven't already been on it and how can the ratings continue to improve (for winter CBB at least)!?
RichardG
26-06-2015, 03:43 PM
nothing consistent though
I'll bet psycho pussies didn't even cost a fraction of the amount to produce as Big Brother does though, 1.2m consistently is suddenly a lot less appealing when you see the amount they must be spending to air it all summer.
I don't think they'll axe it next year, they'll probably try an all star season or a regular civ season with even more twists and manipulated arguments (they won't listen to the fans that's for sure), but soon enough if the ratings drop even lower they'll probably decide it's not worth it anymore.

I honestly think that they'd benefit from doing Big Brother in the winter. Look at the ratings that the January Celebrity Big Brother gets every year, it gets 3+ million on average.
If they were to run a civilian edition of Big Brother for say 7 weeks with a three week Celebrity Big Brother and then a CBB in the summer [to keep their love of CBB..], the ratings could potentially improve.

I agree, I mean CBB only gets like 1.8 overnight in Summer, only 500k higher than BB normally.
BB from mid Sep - mid November (no later to avoid clash with IAC and no Sat shows (to avoid clash with X Factor).
CBB - Jan as normal
CBB - late May - late June - leaving 3 month break.
Or
BB - Jan - late Feb
CBB - mid March - mid April
CBB - August as normal
Could have CBB first though and then BB, but then we wouldn't get a new house like we normally do for BB.

It's not suprising that this is the shortest BB on C5. Even I lost interest for a week couple weeks ago. Back into it now but doesnt feel like a great series's. The hype of ex housemates at beginning was an overhype one

Quite surprised considering the poor quality of the episode, but shows that we don't need constant drama for good ratings.
presumably 4th in it slot, don't know what BBC2 got.
only 300k from beating BBC1

BIB - Didn't they do that for BB12? And the ratings for that series were 2nd lowest (after BB16, atm).
I think BB is meant to be in the summer. I can't see a winter BB helping ratings, because many people won't know it's on. It's like how I'm A Celebrity is a November show, or how CBB is a January show. It just wouldn't work.
Plus, I don't think a Civvy BB in January would work well as usually the summer is when most people have time off (summer holidays and things), so it may be harder for people to get on the show after Christmas.
I think BB ratings are low because people have lost interest in the show. Look at BB14, which almost got 2m. That was because it's a good series. Look at BB15 and BB16 which both have lower averages because they were not good.
Summer CBB only does bad because it's not supposed to be on in the summer. CBB is January show. So people don't bother tuning in. Especially when it's so close to Civvy BB, which gets about 0.5m lower, and the lack of promo for summer CBB.

Hoping it averages to 1.4 in officials at least. Not surprised the UTD, fair rating for 10pm, BB would only have faired slightly better at that time so it's consistent.

Yeah ratings have improved now, the official will be at least hitting 1.6 now, it should take the average up but not loads as its only 2 weeks left, if this series launched in June it would have decent/ratings as ratings started improving around the 12th.

You're too optimistic with the ratings. This series has no chance of hitting a 1.60 million official average. It's rating lower than Big Brother 12 and Big Brother 15. We'll be extremely lucky if it hits 1.50 Million in the official ratings. 1.2-1.3 in overnights doesn't boost up to 1.6, it's scraping 1.37-1.40 Million officially.
As of the latest round of officials, this series is averaging at 1.37 Million officially - down almost 300k from Big Brother 15.

No I didn't explain myself we'll, I'm talking about last week and this week! These 2 weeks should get 1.5 officials with 1.2-4 overnight. I mean these 2 weeks could average 1.5 officials not the whole series, that's impossible.

Third it its slot, beat CH4 and BBC2.
Love Island lost 100k viewers to 390k
highest rated show on CH5 yesterday
Its annoying that we've only got 2 weeks left as the from last week its been getting high 1.2 - 1.4, it should boost the average up a bit if the next 2 weeks are consistent.
4 weeks with decent ratings should boost it.

I'm kind of annoyed this series is currently averaging 1.36m. It doesn't even deserve that low rating. It deserves a much lower average of about 900k, IMO.
This series doesn't feel like BB. And BB15 was miles better. Who would've thought?
Still got a long way of snatching BB12's title of the worst ever series. But it's definitely up there.

What we're forgetting is that BB12 didn't have +1. So 1.55m without +1 isn't that bad. Considering you had BB15, which only had 0.02m higher than BB12, with the help of +1. Without +1, BB15 averaged like 1.43m.
And this series is currently averaging 1.36m including +1.

So what was the |+1?
I expect a lot of people would have tuned in to see Marc evicted.
It was so strange all week I ws convinced Harry was a dead cert and last nights eviction was the first one ive watched live this series and I just knew she was gonna say Marc.
What a terrible set of housemates we are left with.
This hasn't felt like Big Brother its felt like a spin off.
I don't know what is going on with Saturday's of late but 900k is pretty good. Excl +1 as well so will probably be over a million again. Clearly all the "omg Marc's gone, so am I" moaners stayed. Big surprise.

I don't think the producers have anything to do with it. It was the voting public that turned this show into the flop it is by continuously voting out the most interesting characters like Sarah, Jade, and the biggest draw of the show Marc.

Deservedly so. BB mistakenly trusted the public with VTE and the public turned the show into a borefest getting rid of the most interesting characters. Hopefully BB learned their lesson and will change the show back to VTS.

So what does that leave the series average at?
At the moment it's averaging 1.37m, but we need the last two weeks officials.
But I think it's safe to say BB16 will average 1.4m, rounded. So, half a million down on Secrets and Lies, two years earlier. And 0.2/3m less than all the other C5 series (BB12, BB13, and BB15).
So, basically BB16 is the lowest C5 series, by a mile.

some good news?
Massive numbers tune in to Big Brother Final on TV3.
Almost half a million people tuned into TV3 to watch last night’s Big Brother final. The final episode of the series reached an impressive 458,800 people, with a 15.96% share of the available viewing population.
Last night’s Big Brother final was a ratings hit for TV3 Group, rounding off the show’s incredible performance across the series. The finale reached an impressive 458,800 people as Chloe Wilburn was crowned the 2015 winner. With an average of 224,700 viewers across the episode, the last in the series held a 15.96% share of the available viewing population.
It was the most popular night of the series for Adults 15-44 with a share of 20.00%, while it also performed extremely well for Adults 15-24 with a 27.74% share.
Big Brother 2015 wasn’t short on controversy or drama, and more often than not, Irish housemates Marc O’Neill and Jade Lynch were in the thick of it. Across the series, an average of 131,700 people tuned in each night across TV3, 3e and TV3+1, while TV3’s daily reach was 245,700 per episode.
Hosted by Emma Willis, this year’s Big Brother saw the house embark on a ‘Timebomb’ theme with a Mad Men-influenced, '60s-style deco. As Big Brother had full reign over time in the house, viewers were treated to a couple of blasts from the past with Big Brother legends Nikki Grahame, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, Brian Belo and Helen Wood re-entering the house.
The main show and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side brought in 2.677 million viewers across TV3, TV3+1 and 3e during the run of the series, proving to very popular with Irish audiences.
Speaking about the ratings success, a spokesperson for TV3 said: “This year has proved that after ten years on air the beast that is Big Brother is alive and well. For 3e and TV3 it has been a brilliant addition to our schedule with the ratings growing each night, and it’s not over yet! Celebrity Big Brother will be on our screens soon with, we’re sure, even more hilarious stand out moments.”
The regular folk may have served their time, but now the celebrities must enter the Big Brother house. The fly-on-the-wall fun will return in August as Emma Willis invites a fresh group of famous faces to move in together. With the rumour mill already in full swing, the first Celebrity Big Brother to air on TV3 won’t be one to miss.

If I'm not mistaken, our BB (inc.CBB) cost £40mil a year for rights from Edemol, and TV3 bought the rights to show our series for just £1mil, considering a 15% share for the Irish TV audience, is that suggestive that TV3 has made a significant profit or not, as it is pretty fair to say C5 will be on a thin line between making a profit or not compared.
The show in the 9pm slot on Channel 5 last night had 436k... I can see why they renewed Big Brother now.

After 3 weeks I was back to working everyday and just watched BB on catchup which ive never done before but the 4 in 4 out twist killed it for me.......Sarah and the twins were amazing housemates and I was like screw this time to get a grip and get back to work.
Anyway I was talking about me not being on the forum as much this year which I wasn't that's been clear from my posts so don't know if you're trying to catch me out or troll or something but not gonna happen.
