The Scouse lass is a fully badged-up member of Jade's crew, but she was a stunned bystander for most of yesterday's super-squabble. She didn't say so at the time (too scared, probably), but it appears Danielle might be feeling a tad guilty about things.

Today the girls were civil as Shilpa helped the glamour girl do her hair. Danielle looked almost embarrassed as the Indian fiddled with her fringe, as if there was something she wanted to get off her amply formed chest.

Suddenly reaching out to grab the Bollywood star, Danielle exclaimed: "Shilpa, I don't like arguing with anyone and I don't want to argue with you."

"Don't worry, I'm cool," said a slightly taken aback Shilpa as the pair embraced. "You were never like that with me."

"I don't want you to feel left out, I feel really bad and I'm not a bad person," insisted Danielle.

"You are not a bad person," Shilpa assured her. "And neither is Jo."

There was a small pause, before she added: "And neither is Jade."

Danielle looked relieved, while Shilpa explained calmly: "Jade just waits for an argument and I'm not like that. I can't be what she wants me to be."

As they left the bathroom, Shilpa concluded: "I don't have anything against you, trust me."

Then, effortlessly changing the subject in an instant, she advised: "Now, you should take that small brush for the fringe..."

Wonder if she's ever considered swapping showbiz for a career in diplomacy...

The mother of Big Brother bully victim Shilpa Shetty has told Sky News of her pain at watching her daughter being abused on TV.

Speaking exclusively to Sky News, Sunanda Shetty said she was praying her daughter would be evicted from the show on Friday.

Speaking in her home in Mumbai (Bombay), Mrs Shetty said she had never seen her daughter cry before.

"As a mother I find it it very painful and alarming to watch my daughter cry," she said.

"To see her cry on TV while a bunch of people abuse her is very painful thing for a parent.

"I have never seen her cry, maybe when has been heartbroken, but she's normally a very happy person."


Sunanda Shetty She said her daughter decided to do the Channel 4 show as an "experiment".

"She did not have to do it, she is a film star," she said. "Perhaps the experience will give her personal growth."

Complaints began to flood in to Channel 4 after Jade Goody, her mother Jackiey Budden, Jack Tweed, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara allegedly began bullying the Indian actress.

The star's treatment at the hands of her housemates is in stark contrast to the reception she receives in India. There she is a household name thanks to her Bollywood films.

Sky News' Alex Crawford, who interviewed Mrs Shetty, said: "It is like Cameron Diaz going into the Big Brother house. Shilpa is very well know in India and is treated with a lot of respect and affection.

"She is one of India's biggest hitters. The alleged abuse is getting big coverage out here." "

LONDON (Reuters) - Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, a contestant on hit reality television show Celebrity Big Brother, finds herself at the centre of a storm over racism and bullying that has many Britons asking -- are we all bigots?
The 31-year-old, a major star in India but little known in Britain until now, will be one of the last people in the country to know that her treatment in the Big Brother

A record 13,000 complaints have been made to media watchdog Ofcom, politicians are weighing into the debate, the police are investigating e-mail threats against contestants and the row has spread to India where the movie industry is up in arms.

The actress has been called a "dog", one housemate said "she makes my skin crawl", people refused to learn her name, her accent has been mocked and she has been reduced to tears by a group of contestants ganging up on her.

But there have been no overtly racist attacks, prompting a debate about whether what viewers have been watching is racism or bullying or both.

"Racism is racism," Sunita Patel wrote to the Mirror tabloid. "Shilpa is from another country and they are taking advantage of her manners and general differences."

One contributor to Web site www.digitalspy.co.uk added: "As an Indian, I feel thoroughly ashamed. It seems racism is still rife in this country."

But many people disagree, arguing that mocking someone's accent does not constitute racism, and that it is Shetty's beauty and poise that has triggered the abuse, not her race.

"I think racism is probably a bit strong," Philip Lindsey wrote on the BBC's Web site. "I would consider it some fairly intense female rivalry, especially in such an unnaturally claustrophobic environment."

MIRROR OF A NATION?

What makes Big Brother uncomfortable viewing for some is the idea that its contestants reflect broader society.

Commentator Germaine Greer argued that Britons should not be surprised at Shetty's treatment, in a country where bigotry was widespread.

"This is a racist country," she said in the Guardian. "There is almost no inter-penetration of English and Indian cultures in Britain."

In the same newspaper author Hari Kunzru said a contestant's refusal to learn Shetty's name was "straightforwardly racist".

"This is what Big Brother is for. It holds a mirror up to national attitudes. If we don't like what we see, we ought to change," he said.

Chancellor Gordon Brown, widely tipped to take over as prime minister from Tony Blair, was drawn into the debate on a trip to India on Wednesday.

"I understand that in the UK there have already been 10,000 complaints from viewers about these remarks which people rightly see as offensive," he told reporters in Bangalore.

"I want Britain to be seen as a country of fairness and tolerance ... and anything that detracts from that, I condemn."

Calls for action from Channel 4, which airs the show, have grown, some coming from unlikely sources like tabloid The Sun.

"This is prime-time telly, with millions of impressionable teens tuning in," the newspaper said. "Can Channel 4 turn a blind eye any longer? In a word, no."

Channel 4 is likely to have mixed feelings about the row. While it is under pressure to act, ratings for the main highlights show on Tuesday evening hit 4.5 million viewers, up from 3.5 million on Monday, the BBC reported.

And Shetty is now the bookmakers' favourite to win the show.

I have never felt so sorry for someone as much as I do for shilpa. I feel really bad for her......shes in a situation with all these dogs surrounding her, if she talks back to jade then she'll be classified as one of them and if she stay's quiet then jade won't stop barking about her, unfortunately jade will continue ranting about Shilpa. I would eat a 'roast chicken' cooked by shilpa any day, I would break bread at my table with her. She is twice the woman that Jade Goody is and beautiful too. If anybody came from a SHACK it was 'Goody'. I do not watch Big Brother much but I read about Shilpa in the paper and just had to say something. I am really ashamed to call myself British, this racist bullying is simply awful and the programme should be abolished, it has been getting worse over the years anyway. Shilpa you can come to my house for a meal anytime and as for you Ms Goody & co I would crawl back under the rock from whence you came, you are simply common trash. A group of models from an international animal charity were today bearing all in London in a bid to bring an end to the Big Brother "circus" and the bullying of housemate Shilpa Shetty.

The Bollywood actress, who has been subjected to a barrage of vile insults by her fellow housemates, is a dedicated supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) and charity members were today demonstrating in Covent Garden to bring an end to the taunts.


Wearing nothing more than body-painted leopard spots and a sign reading "Stop Big Brother Circus Cruelty - Vote for Shilpa" the models are aiming to urge viewers to take a stand against Shilpa's treatment.

Shilpa is a staunch supporter of Peta's campaign against bullying and cruelty to circus animals who, unlike the Celebrity Big Brother contestants, are not volunteers and are forced to perform through fear of punishment.

Charity chiefs said many circus animals across the world are forced to perform stressful acts with whips, muzzles, electric prods and bullhooks with metal tips.

Many are made to perform confusing acts night after night for 48 to 50 weeks every year and are then kept chained up like bicycles or stored in cages between shows, the charity added.

Peta spokesperson, Lady Lucy Groom, said: "When Shilpa Shetty joined Peta to speak up against cruelty to animals in circuses, she had no idea she would eventually be living in the midst of one.

"We urge viewers to stop Big Brother circus cruelty by voting for Shilpa, our friend and a defender of animals."

Shilpa posed for one of Peta's most high-profile advertising campaigns in India, a sexy anti-circus advert in which she crouched behind the bars of a cage, dressed in a form-fitting tiger-striped body suit, with the tagline "Beaten, Lonely and Abused - Boycott the Circus".

Brown Urges Viewers To Back Shilpa

Gordon Brown has again waded into the Celebrity Big Brother racism row by urging viewers to back Shilpa Shetty to stay in the house, rather than Jade Goody. The Chancellor, who is on a visit to India, told reporters that by supporting Shilpa, people would be supporting British tolerance.
Jade has apologised to Shilpa, insisting she is not a racist and said she regrets any offence that she has caused.

But the south Londoner, who is favourite to get the boot, is facing fresh controversy

after branding her rival "Shilpa Poppadum" and will apparently be taken to a safe house by police when kicked out.
Channel 4 has decided to donate all the phone line profits from this evening's vote to charity and media watchdog Ofcom says complaints from viewers about the race row have soared to more than 38,000.

The Indian actress has endured repeated verbal assaults from Jade and faced highly-critical comments from others in the house, including ex-Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd.

Jade, who is 50-1 odds-on to be evicted in the public vote, told Shilpa: "I know that what has happened has not been nice for you... and a lot of stuff got said the other day from you and from myself.

"I didn't say it in a racial way... I do not judge people by the colour of their skin."

Shilpa replied: "I know that, I don't think you're racist. I really appreciate that you took the first step."

But out of earshot on another occasion, Jade called her "Shilpa Poppadum".

In the diary room, she explained her comments, saying: "She is Indian, so will have an Indian name.

"What I said about her was not meant in a racial way - it's not acceptable if done in that way. If it's offended any Indians out there I apologise."

Meanwhile, Danielle has said sorry to the Bollywood actress, saying she was "disgusted" by her behaviour.

Earlier in the week, Shilpa thought she was a victim of racism but later changed her mind, believing her row with Jade had not been racially motivated.

Channel 4 continues to defend the programme, saying it has "touched a real nerve" and raised an important debate.

However, Hertfordshire Police have said they are investigating allegations of racist behaviour in the house and will be reviewing the tapes.

Mr Brown previously said: "I want Britain to be seen as a country of fairness and tolerance. Anything detracting from this I condemn."

Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell branded the show "disgusting" and said it was "racism being presented as entertainment".

Goody's career 'finished' after Big Brother controversy

Media expert Max Clifford believes Jade Goody may have destroyed her career due to her "indefensible" behaviour.

The PR guru said: "Jade is the biggest loser in this, and deservedly so. She will be struggling to keep her career afloat. She clearly showed herself up for what she really is."

The Perfume Shop have already announced they are removing Jade's perfume 'Shh...' after her bullying behaviour inside the house. The reality star's fragrance was one of their best selling products.

The news comes as The Carphone Warehouse announces they are withdrawing their sponsorship deal from Big Brother because the racism and bullying is at odds with the company's brand value.

The company said it did not want its name associated with claims of racist bullying of housemate Shilpa Shetty by fellow contestants.

"We had already made it clear to Channel 4 that were this to continue, we would have to consider our position," Carphone Warehouse said in a statement.

"Nothing we saw last night gave us any comfort. Accordingly we have instructed Channel 4 to remove our sponsorship name and branding with immediate effect," it added.

Max Clifford said he would not work for Jade - who has made £8 million since her first appearance in Big Brother in 2002.

The marketing expert also predicted Danielle Lloyd's career will also be in tatters when she is evicted.

The former Miss England has been dumped from a lucrative modelling contract with motorcycle insurance firm Bennetts as a result of the row.

The contract is believed to be worth six figures.

In a statement, the company said: "Following Channel 4's recent statement with regards to the alleged racism and bullying in the Big Brother house, Bennetts has reviewed its arrangements for Danielle Lloyd to front its 'Bennetts Babes' campaign.

"Bennetts is strongly opposed to any form of racism and bullying and, in light of the accusations which have been made against Miss Lloyd, has taken the decision to terminate its arrangements with her with immediate effect.

"Bennetts will no longer use Miss Lloyd for any promotional activities and will remove all promotional pictures and press materials featuring her from its website."

Meanwhile, music industry insiders said Jo O'Meara's dream of making a pop comeback will be shattered.

One source said: "It will be a cold day in hell before anyone touches her again."

'Shilpa should've slapped her'

Actor Nana Patekar today said Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty should have slapped those who hurled racial slurs at her during a TV reality show in Britian and walked out.

"Shilpa should have slapped those who passed the racial remarks against her during the show. 'Main hota to chaanta maar deta' (if I was in her place, I would have slapped them)," Patekar told reporters in his trademark style here.

He was here to take part in a shooting championship.

"We are actors and people invite us to take part in shows, but that does not give them any right to dishonour us. She should have slapped those passing such remarks and walked out of the show."

Patekar expressed the hope that the orgnisers of the TV programme would expel those responsible for making the racial slurs.

All the talk today has been of Dirk. We know what you're thinking, Dirk this, Dirk that. But the man has acquired a certain mystery today. A certain je ne sais quoi. Or maybe that's just because he hasn't showered for four days.

Whatever it is, he's the centre of attention. And Cleo thinks that's because Shilpa's the centre of his attention.

In the Diary Room earlier she confided to Big Brother that she was going to try and get Dirk and Shilpa together.

"He's very nice," said Shilpa when Cleo told her later. "But very old."

Following a rigorous skip, Dirk succumbed and took a shower. Buff and scented, he came out of the shower and immediately began to flirt with Shilpa. "Let me smell you," she cooed, beckoning the freshly scrubbed 62-year-old over.

But displaying all the seduction skills of a teenager, Dirk took the opportunity to cop a sneaky squeeze.

"Hey, is jumping Shilpa better than jumping rope?" teased Cleo.

"It gets your heart beating faster," came Dirk's reply.

"I will have my way with you," he teased as Shilpa screamed and ran away from the beanbag.

"You dirty dog," laughed Jo.

Dirk left the room, and the rest began preparing lunch. But the conversation didn't swerve as the girls discussed ways to get Dirk and Shilpa together.

"Now, it's a competition," said Cleo, warming up for a wind-up. "This is fun now."

After the tumultuous events of recent days, there is a poignant irony to the reason Shilpa Shetty decided to take a place in the Big Brother house.
According to friends in her native India, she had, among other things, expected to broaden her horizons and make new friends.
That she has achieved the former is undisputed, albeit in what has proved to be a deeply unsettling and unexpected way.
She has, undoubtedly, made new friends too - just not, with a couple of notable exceptions, from among her fellow residents.
Instead, the plight of the 31-year-old actress has caused a rush of protective concern among the nation's viewers, with even the Prime Minister and Chancellor taking up her cause.
Until she is evicted, of course, Shilpa remains unaware how much she has become the unwitting heroine of an international drama.
But what is certain is that she will have the final victory against her tormentors when she emerges from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
She will find that her fame has extended a long way beyond her homeland. Already, there is talk of lucrative modelling work in the West, together with British film and television roles as a result of her increased profile.
If this becomes reality, it will prove an extraordinary transition for a woman who, while long a household name in Asia, was more or less unknown in Britain at the start of the year, a fact reinforced by the mulish refusal of some of her housemates to remember her name.
It is also a rather ironic turn of events for an actress who, the Mail has learned, decided to participate in the programme against the advice of friends and her own mother.
A former model, Sunanda Shetty is fiercely protective of her daughter and earlier this month made clear her maternal dismay at her daughter's decision.
"As a mother, I did not think it was a very courageous decision of hers to want to sit in a fishbowl and be watched 24 hours," she said. "As a film star, she does not need to do it."
No doubt, despite a statement of support this week, she feels her instinct has been justified as she watches her daughter wiping away tears of bewilderment under the crude onslaught of the British 'celebrities' with whom she is housed. It is hard not to share her sentiment.
Shilpa's incarceration in Elstree is a world away from the gilded lifestyle she enjoys in India, where, over the years, she has been treated with a reverence usually reserved for royalty, as well as accumulating a vast fortune.
Together with her parents and sister Shamita - also a Bollywood actress - Shetty occupies the entire seventh floor of an opulent apartment building in a district of Mumbai called Lokhandwala, known as the 'Beverly Hills of Bombay'.
The apartment has its own gym, while Shilpa's luxurious bedroom has been lavishly decorated in animal print fabrics and silk and satin.
And then there's the entourage, comprising a heady mix of servants, chauffeurs, a personal make-up artist and hairdresser, together with a supporting cast of bodyguards who accompany the actress everywhere.
Little wonder, given this rarefied backdrop to her domestic life, that even before the particular unpleasantness of recent days Shilpa has found it difficult to conceal her amazement at the crude behaviour of her fellow house-dwellers. (Keen viewers may recall a recent scene in which her nose wrinkled with disgust as she watched Jade Goody's mother Jackiey spit out a mouthful of wine on the floor.)
She admitted that she could not bring herself "to mingle with them". Such sentiments have, as she has found to her cost, not endeared Shilpa to her housemates.
Given her naturally ladylike demeanour, why, then did she chose to take part in a low-grade television reality show?
After all, as a veteran of more than 40 films, commanding a fee of around £500,000 each time - a fortune in India - the rumoured £365,000 she has been paid to appear in the show would not in itself be an enticement. The answer, it would appear, lies in that phenomenon common to all actresses of a certain age.
While she has long been celebrated as 'the hottest body in Bollywood' (one that Shilpa works hard at maintaining - she was said to be dismayed by the lack of gym facilities in the Big Brother house), she is keenly aware that at 31 she is being overshadowed by a new generation of sexy, beautiful female stars.
To that the end, the experienced actress will be milking her Big Brother performance for all it is worth. Her last palpable hit was nearly 18 months ago, and before she arrived in England at the start of the month she had no others in the immediate pipeline.
Put simply, her career appears to be on the wane. Moreover, even when at the top of her game, Shilpa has, according to those that know her, been frustrated-As Bombay-based film critic Anupam Chopra told the Mail: "She had everything an Indian heroine needed but she never actually starred in a real blockbuster."
Instead, with a couple of notable exceptions (she gave a critically acclaimed performance as an Aids victim in the 2004 film Phir Milenge) her career, while hugely successful, has been limited to 'arm candy' roles for which there is now stiff competition from actresses a decade her junior.
"She still has an amazing figure, but there are many much younger women now crowding the market," says another film critic, Shubra Gupta.
"Shetty wants to look outside India to a wider stage. She often says her ambition is to work with actors like Tom Cruise, so she obviously thought that going to Britain to do a show watched by millions would help her career."
Born into middle-class affluence - her father, Surendra, owned a chain of aluminium factories - Shilpa has always demonstrated a quiet confidence common to those brought up in the higher echelons of the Indian caste system.
Privately educated, she was initially expected to enter the family business, even studying commerce at a prestigious business college.
A natural performer, however, Shilpa had different ideas about her future.
At 15, she asked a family friend to take pictures of her and sent the results to various model agencies.
"It was rather ironic as until then Shilpa, while pretty, had not been thought of as the real beauty of the family," a family friend explains.
"Her sister Samita had a much fairer complexion and Shilpa used to complain about being darker. Her mother would tell her she was a beauty and that she must be patient."
Shilpa was initially turned down to be a model as she was not tall enough.
But by 17, she had grown to a statuesque 5ft8in and started to do some photographic work on the side.
Her photographs attracted the attention of directors and producers and in 1993 she was offered a series of minor Bollywood roles. "My father was aghast - a Shetty girl joining films, unthinkable," she told one interviewer at the time. "Today he's known as Shilpa Shetty's father and he's very proud of it." He is also no doubt relieved at his daughter's insistence on preserving her modesty throughout her career.
Shilpa has frequently refused to remove her clothes or film scenes that she deems 'inappropriate.'
What though of romance? In her early 30s, Shilpa is at the age when many of her contemporaries are married with children.
She, though, insists she is single, despite attempts by the Indian press to link her with a high profile married film director.
"That's just not Shilpa's style," one friend insists.
Many friends believe that she has never properly recovered from the breakup of her two-year relationship with fellow Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, whom she dated in her early 20s.
Fans had expected them to marry - but instead Kumar went on to wed another Bollywood star, Tina 'Twinkle' Khanna.
"No one ever quite got to the bottom of what happened and Shilpa doesn't like to talk about it," one source says.
"There were rumours that she had found Akshay in flagrante delicto with another actress, but Shilpa would never dignify the rumours with any comment.
"It was definitely an ugly breakup although the two are now friends again and she is also friends with his wife."
Little wonder that, in one of many startling exchanges with her Big Brother housemates, she refused to comment, despite repeated pressure, on whether she lost her virginity to Kumar.
Given such vulgar exchanges - ones which have come to characterise much of the interaction in the Big Brother house - it seems particularly poignant to learn that Shilpa had been looking forward to making new English friends.
"I don't think she had any idea it would be like this," one Bombaybased friend told the Mail.
"She was genuinely looking forward to meeting new people. She said she thought it would be fun, that it would give her career a boost, but apart from that she had zero expectations."
What she cannot have predicted is that her incarceration in the Big Brother house may yet turn out - for entirely unexpected and rather unpleasant reasons - to be the best career move she has ever made.

this person screaming her /\ss of would never genuinely feel sorry for what she had said to shilpa...instead she just realized how much she's hated and most of all how she ruined her career. I'm sure her PR team made this video to try and save whatever is left of her career.

HOWEVER, I feel that danielle and jo were far worse than jade. danielle and jo made nastier comments about Shilpa and yet jade faces more humiliation than them. danielle and jo aren't going to face public hatred because they have now come to peace with shilpa; the two are trying to get everyones love back. The producers must have informed the two that Jade's career is at stake and so the best thing for them two to do is to make up with shilpa before they too put their career at stake......

Shilpa has developed a taste for the sauce it seems, much to the surprise of her fellow housemates.

Danielle invited Shilpa to take a swig of her cider, with the actress proving her taste buds are in fine fettle when she remarked "it tastes like apple juice gone bad."

"Shilpa's gonna be drunk in a minute!" joked Danielle, unaware that her prediction was spot on. Moments later, Shilpa announced: "I think I am a little high". Alas, it wasn't any intoxicating feelings of lust for Dirk that caused the sensation.

"I'm a cheap date," laughed the apple-addled Shilpa, with Cleo delivering a quip sharper than her gravity-defying hair: "We don't want that getting out in the wrong context..."

Jo sat in disbelief as the few sips of alcohol took effect, asking Shilpa: "Has that affected you? Seriously?"

"It's made me..." began the usually articulate lady, suddenly lost for words, leaving Danielle the opportunity for a well-spotted observation: "Your eyes are rolling to the back of your head!" she joked.

Jo was finding it hard to get to sleep because her mind just wouldn't stop racing. But luckily Shilpa was on hand to calm her down.

After much tossing and turning, Jo finally sat up in bed and started rummaging around on her shelf.

"You ok?" Shilpa asked, as she went to join Jo on her bed. "It's just I'm really nervous... I can't switch my mind off..." Jo explained before asking: "Can't you sleep either?"

"I was thinking about how to re-invent you!" Shilpa giggled. "I swear to God, I was thinking of what outfit to give you... you are so good!" she said, bigging up her housemate.

"I'm so worried... but I don't know why," Jo whimpered.

"You're just anxious," Shilpa told her, comforting her with an arm rub. "Everything is well outside, just keep saying that. There must be so many people out there who would love to be in your shoes..."

"I don't want to be in my shoes. Not at the moment," Jo replied softly.

"Shuuut up!" Shilpa said, trying to cheer Jo up. "This is a good thing for you!"

"I'm panicking about when it's my time to go through the door." Jo finally revealed.

"You have a great body, you have a great attitude, you have a great voice..." Shilpa told her sincerely. "If you have it, show it. You have a great ass, show it!"

"You're very sweet," Jo eventually smiled.

Jade Goody's attempt to win back public support backfired when she was caught telling an apparent lie on live TV.

With her career in trouble after the Big Brother race row, she told The Wright Stuff chat show that she had not been staying at home with her children because it had been vandalised and windows smashed.

She said "police were sitting outside".

But onlookers said her £300,000 house was untouched and police said they had not been called to the property in Ongar. She had not been seen at the house.

The 25-year-old has embarked on a massive PR campaign after bullying of contestant Shilpa Shetty on the show caused a storm of controversy and a record 40,000 complaints from viewers.

Looking tearful, she admitted she had not yet seen her children Bobby, three, and Freddy, two, since she was evicted from the show.

She said: "I haven't been staying at home because, as you can imagine, things haven't been great. I went home this morning to get a change of clothes and my house windows had been smashed.

"Do I deserve to get my windows smashed? Do I deserve not to see my children? What if they were in my house last night when the windows got smashed? My two-year-old and three-year-old have got to go through that.

"I haven't seen my children yet and the reason for that isn't just because of the house windows being smashed and police sitting outside the house or anything.

"It's because I haven't been mentally ready to see my kids.

"My kids don't understand what's going on so to see their mum upset and not herself - they won't understand it.

"I wanted to get myself in the right frame of mind before I see my kids for the first time."

"LONDON: Shilpa Shetty's agent has denied her client has picked up a brand new contract to front a British version of Cricket Star, the reality TV search for a star batsman or bowler that is currently showing in India.

But Jasvir 'Jazz' Barton admitted to TOI that "offers from around the world are flooding in for Shilpa — her profile has obviously been raised worldwide."

Shilpa and Ian - could there be a less likely pairing? But, during an 'après ski' party, Ian let Shilpa know his intentions.

As a reward for passing the strange licking-a-big-fat-ice-cube task, the housemates were treated to a wonderful party. Not only did they have delectable goodies to eat and drink, but Big Brother also played them their favourite songs.

"A vodka bar!" an excited Ian screeched when he saw the party goodies. "Oh no, it's an ice sculpture! Ooo! Hot chocolate, how cool is that!" he ranted as he charged around the room.

With all of the housemates happily satisfying their palates, suddenly the party really got started. A Pussycat Dolls song started blaring through the House.

"Whoop! That's my song!" Shilpa screamed. "Turn it up Big Brother!"

Sitting very closely together, Ian and Shilpa started dancing and singing away. And with all the excitement of the party and hearing her song, Shilpa got a bit amorous.

"Shall I kiss that guy?" she giggled.

"What guy? The ice sculpture?" Ian quickly questioned her, before threatening: "I'm going to kiss you before I go!"

"You better not!" Shilpa smiled.

BOLLYWOOD babe Shilpa Shetty will be bowled over by a flood of TV offers when she leaves the Celebrity Big Brother house.

She will even be given the chance to host her own reality show – centred around cricket.

Shilpa, 31, may be a famous actress in India but she was a complete unknown in Britain just a month ago.

Now she is one of the most talked-about names in the UK, thanks to the way she has coped with being bullied on the Channel 4 show.

As a result, her agent has been inundated with offers of work here which could see her rake in a cool £1 million by the end of the year.

Top of the list is a £100,000 offer to present a new reality telly show aiming to uncover new cricket talent.

The series, Cricket Star, will run along the same lines as The X Factor, with youngsters auditioning and trying to impress the judges.

It has already been launched in India, where it is hosted by one of Shilpa’s pals, Indian actress Shweta Salve.

It has knocked rivals for six in the ratings. Now TV chiefs are hoping to do a UK version and they reckon Shilpa is the perfect host.

A show source said: “We’d love to bring it to Britain in the summer. It’s been a big hit in India. And who better to host it than Shilpa?

“She was an unknown in the UK a month ago and now she’s the most talked-about Bollywood star we’ve ever had. She’s proved to be a favourite with viewers, so she’s the ideal choice for this show.”

Meanwhile, the bookies reckon Shilpa is on course to be crowned queen of CBB on Sunday night. But, unlike her fans, they won’t be cheering.

That is because it will cost them a whopping £2m. When the show started she was a complete outsider. But as she has risen up the rankings, punters have been piling money on her.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “A win for Shilpa would be a catastrophe for the bookies.

“She was well supported even prior to the row that engulfed the house. Now she looks unstoppable.”

Shilpa is the 1-5 favourite, followed by Jermaine Jackson, 52, at 5-1 and Dirk Benedict, 61, 14-1.

Ian Watkins, 30, is a 16-1 shot, Cleo Rocos, 44, is at 20-1, with Jack Tweed 66-1.

Unsurprisingly, bully girls Danielle Lloyd, 23, and Jo O’Meara, 27, are rank outsiders at 100-1.

Why are so many people addicted to this series of CBB?

I think it's gruesome, because we know what they don't know in the House. A week has passed since the great row that went round the world, and the Gang of Two that are left are carrying on as though it's absolutely natural.

Would you care to make a forecast about the nominations?

Well, the only forecast I can make is that I can't believe Jack will be nominated. Nobody hates him. And they are the people that get through, people who nobody is upset with. Bez won in my year, Chantelle won last year...

When you were in the House you refused to talk for days over a can of pop. Why did you not walk out like so many this series?

This has been a great triumph for CBB. When people walk like Donnie - first to go; Ken - who couldn't hack it; then we had Leo who fought his way out. When that happens CBB wins. They have all been blubbing and every time they blub, CBB wins.

Who do you think is the most attractive lady in the House?

Shilpa. There is no question. She has got style, she has got class, but for sheer lust you would go for Danielle. All Jo does is sleep, smoke cigarettes and whinge. I wouldn't even look at her if she stood in front of me naked.

What are your odds on the housemates?

Jermaine - I think he will get through to the last three. Third out.

Danielle - She will be first out when the public get the chance to vote her out, and she will be in for a shock - she won't believe it.

Jack - No-one is going to vote against him, that's the problem with Jack. So we could see Jack high up.

Cleo - I think she has let herself down recently one way or another, so I put her about 5th out.

Dirk - I can't stand him. He has been a grumpy old man and he smokes in the House. I put him about 6th.

Shilpa - Shilpa I think is a certainty to win. I am going to be voting for Shilpa as well, so Shilpa is odds on. :hello:
Jo - I can't see anyone voting for her so I would probably put her 7th or something.

Ian - Ian is so boring but doesn't upset people, so he could be 2nd or 3rd out.
