How was your photo shoot?

It was fantastic! It was also convenient as I was in London at the time. Stuart Weston, the photographer, was fantastic as was the rest of the crew.

It was a foreign crew with Japanese make-up artists and hairdressers Ayumi and Teru, who were specially flown in from Paris.

The entire look of the shoot is very high fashion.

Superna Motwane, the editor of L’Officiel, was very clear about what she wanted.

I’m very fussy about hair and make-up but after working with them, I was completely at ease.

Was the shoot very different from the ones you’ve done before?

I’ve always wanted to do different things and L’Officiel boasts of very classy fashion shoots and covers.

What was different was that it was a completely international look. And, of course, with Louis Vuitton clothes, I thought it was a great combination

Is Shilpa fussy to work with?
She definitely has her preferences, but she was not a fussy person to style as she understands high fashion and is willing to experiment. We were happy about the fact that we could give her a look that was completely different from her usual one. It did take some convincing to get her to experiment with her hair and make-up, but when she took a look at the first polaroid she was very happy.

What is the mood of the shoot?
We wanted her to look like a fashion diva, not overtly sexy but sensual. Big hair, smoky eyes and clothes that are as well crafted as the LV bags. Shilpa is a beautiful blend of many things — she is down-to-earth but can suddenly transform into a stunning diva. At the same time, she proudly holds her Indian values up to the world, and that’s why she is the choice for our anniversary cover.

The maximum WIDTH of banners should be 550 px. The maximum HEIGHT of one single banner in a signature should be 300 px + 5 lines of text. Hope that clarifies.

Banners are being edited as and when they come to my attention. I've now dealt with a couple more. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing members' banners, but if they get too wide or too deep they become a problem for viewing the Forum.

Shilpa: I will not apologise

"Meanwhile, Shilpa held an impromptu press conference and exclaimed that she was 'shocked' by the protests. "India has the second highest number of HIV patients in the world. Yet, we are talking about the kissing incident rather than the HIV cause. We should not waste national time on such trivial issues."

The actress refused to apologise for the incident. "Apology! For what? Did he kiss on my lips? Did he do my vastra haran? Have you never seen a man kiss a woman? Don't act stupid! I don't think anything wrong has happened to me. I am someone who lives with dignity," Shilpa said

The actress added that Gere had called her thrice to apologise for his act. She stated that he had kissed her to entertain the audiences -- there were 4,000 truckdrivers present.

"Richard cannot speak Hindi and that's why he did that dancing number in Bollywood style to keep those truckers entertained. I don't think anything wrong happened, so why should people ask me to apologise?" she asked.

"Our culture says, Atithi Deva Bhava (the guest is God) and I don't think it is right to treat our guest in such a manner," she continued. "I am proud of my culture. Moreover, Richard is someone who is trying to help HIV patients for the last nine years in India. This is not the way to behave with him. He believes in this cause and has given his support from time to time.

"We talk of India going into the 21st century and being progressive. Is this the way to behave?" she questioned. "What kind of reputation do you want to project by this act? These people don't do anything for HIV patients and when others do something, they protest. I feel it is a joke because people are politicising such a trivial issue."

Danielle Lloyd attempted to put the Celebrity Big Brother race row behind her by turning up at the world premiere of Shilpa Shetty's new film.
Shetty, 31, dazzled on the red carpet in a pink sari after arriving at the Leicester Square event with her sister.

Lloyd, vilified after ganging up on Shetty with Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, wore a black 'slit to the thigh' dress which revealed a little too much when she tried to untangle it from under her heel.

Goody was reportedly taken off the guest list for Life In A Metro by Shetty's publicist Max Clifford after originally being invited to the event.

Shetty, wearing a RockyF gown said: "This is the first ever Leicester Square premiere for an Indian movie. It's something that I once dreamed of but never imagined would happen."

She said of the film, which features a collection of stores set in Mumbai: "Audiences are ready and looking for something different, for interesting cinema."

Asked about whether she would move to the UK she said: "I love my country. I am very proud to be Indian."

Shetty admitted the Big Brother race row had helped her career saying: "It made me a stronger person and a more famous person of course."

Lloyd wearing a dress by Eric Way said: "Shilpa invited me here. I've come to support her. It's my first Bollywood movie and I'm really excited."

The model said she had a good reception from fans outside, despite her reputation taking a nose dive after appearing on the Channel 4 reality show.

Ok, so I am VERY exited. I just saw METRO and a totally non-biased opinion is that I love it. I won't say much about the story but rather I will talk about each actor and their performances.

Performances
Shilpa Shetty: How is it that this women looks gorgeous and acts so beautifully? Clad in simple skirts and tops and amazxing earrings, she has never looked better. But moreso her portrayal as Shika was amazing and right on. Her facial expressions were amazing and she has improved so much in that sector. When her husband Ranjeet (Kay Kay) would let her down at all times, she would get teary eyed and that was somewhat touching. Her scenes with Akaash really broguth Shika alive. The scene when she comes home and finds her daughter is ill and the 1 liner Kay Kay said to her had the entire cinema in splits of laughter. This is by far Shilpas' BEST performance

Kay Kay: I really hated him, well his character. Kay Kay was awesome. I love him but hated his character. The way he treats his wife and speaks to her was awful. His scenes with Kangana were great too. Both enacted the scenes of the affair really well.

Shiney: He wasn't in the film a great deal. ALL his scenes were with Shilpa, so that certainly was a treat for the eyes. There is a scene where he is enacting out a part in his drama club and that was funny, it wasn't anything he was saying but it was rather how he was saying it, shouting it out :lol:

Irfan Khan: He was the comedy of the film and he would make you laugh all at the right times. He was adorable, annoying and funny. Irfan is a talented actor and this role was easy peasy for him

Konkona: I love this actress. She too was the comedy factor amongst the female actresses. Her scenes with Irfan were hillarious. Her screen space was great and she really shone. Her telephone conversations with her sister Shika (Shilpa) were sweet too

Sharman: Bless him. Sharman was a cutie. I really felt for his character. He wanted to make money, he wanted love, he wanted it all. Sharman was perfect in his role. He rents his room out for some dodgy business and they had the audience laughing too.

Kangana: Though not much in the film she looked sooo cute and adorable. She looked really nice with Sharman and even suited Kay Kay somewhat.


Direction
Anurag is talented, no doubt about it. Murder and Gangster were just paving paths, Metro takes him onto another level (I think anyways). I really liked how he used the band in the film. Their entry throughout the film was a nice little break.
I was REALLY happy that the film didn't have the conventional bollywood sing song routines and Anurag chose to insert the songs at various points in the ilm and in a totally new style.


Overall Review
The film was enjoyable. Shilpa doesn't let you down. She was perfect to the core. Every actor was perfect for their character and every character was VERY well etched out, and every performance was memorable. The ensemable of actors worked very well. Anurag chose highly acclaimed actors/A job well one to the director, the cast and crew of Metro.

My rating of the film: 7/10

Shilpa Shetty will not face legal action over a public kiss from Hollywood actor Richard Gere at a charity event last month.
Shilpa attended the premiere of her new movie with fellow Big Brother housemate Danielle Lloyd earlier this weekThe pair caused controversy in India when Pretty Woman star Richard openly planted kisses on Shilpa's cheek at an Aids awareness event.
Hindu nationalists were outraged after he twirled her in his arms, arched her over and kissed her several times.
However, it was Bollywood and Celebrity Big Brother star Shilpa who faced obscenity charges for not resisting the kiss.
But now India's Supreme Court has suspended all legal proceedings against her.
The 31-year-old's new film Life In A Metro premiered earlier this month and it sees the actress play a neglected housewife tempted by infidelity.
She said: "I think after a certain point in your career you want to really push the envelope and throw caution to the wind and I want to do something different."
She added: "I think it's a great opportunity, a great platform to see a different facet to Indian cinema."

Also, joining them is a woman who means the world to them and has always been a pillar of strength, she is none other than Shilpa and Shamita’s mother Sunanda Shetty.

Excerpts from the interview:

Karan: Ok, how does it feel to be on the show… I know I am giving too much importance to myself by asking you this question, but how does it feel?
Shilpa: It feels weird
Karan: Weird? That’s a first… why would you feel weird?
Shilpa: Its feels weird because you know we have known each other as friends and you can get away with a lot… but, I really don’t know… the feelings are mixed …

Karan: But, it’s such a sweet innocent, almost like harmless show… So, why should you feel weird?
Shilpa: Am I still on Koffee with Karan?… (laughs)

Karan: What was the worst thing Jade Goody said to you…
Shilpa: I think behind my back… most of the things were said… that’s the reason, it created the furor it did… it became this whole international incident … I think we as a race … Indians, are pretty tolerant… we tend to forgive and forget more easily… and that’s exactly what I did… I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and even after those fights I just wanted to move on… because I was like, this is just a show and I am going to go back home and honestly Karan, I took up the show because, I didn’t think I would last that long … I told Anurag, I left Metro and I told him, listen this is a great opportunity, they have told an Indian to be on the show, Main jaaongi, bahut saara paise bhi de rahe hain, aur mujhe kya karna hain.. I just have to be myself… So, I am just going to have a good time and come back… and I said keep the shoot after two weeks, I will be out in 2 weeks … (laughs)

Karan: (laughs) So you never thought that you would ever ever win?
Shilpa: Not in my life … it was a dream …

Karan: What about Jade Goody… had you heard of her?
Shilpa: No, I hadn’t heard of her

Karan:Neither have I
Shilpa: Ya … people in the UK know her …

Karan: Have you been in touch with her… have you had any kind of interaction with her?
Shilpa: No …

Karan:Not at all
Shilpa: No… not as yet

Karan:But, tell me, how did it feel when Shilpa went through all if this… you back home… you and dad… and mum
Shamita: When we were not in touch with her?
Karan: Ya … because you know, she didn’t know what was happening in there? But, all of you did?
Shamita: None of us knew what was happening… in fact, when the press wanted us to comment… we actually kept away from the press for some time … because we didn’t want to make any comments till we saw actually what was happening …

Karan:Were you at all disturbed when everything was happening inside the house… there was so much being said
Sunanda: I think she is a very brave child and she did handle the entire situation with a lot of dignity… I was happy that she could walk out whenever she wanted to … since she stuck around … we knew she was in a position to cope…

Shilpa Shetty tells Jonathan Ross she's not watching Big Brother now when she joins him for Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC One on June 15.
"I don't watch it now, I'm too busy," says the winner of this year's now infamous Celebrity Big Brother. She also talks about how her experience changed her life.
"I wasn't thinking," she says about her decision to take part, "I hadn't seen Big Brother. I'd never been through anything like that, I knew it would be a culture shock ... they psyche you out before you go into the house, it was unnerving for me.
"It was a complete reality check, I've been really pampered, I've never had the opportunity to do stuff other normal girls do. There isn't a second that I regret [because of] the sheer fact the show worked as a catalyst and brought about an awareness of racism ... people didn't know how to broach the issue ... it was a complete mind game, inside [the house] we didn't have an overall perspective. I didn't take it too seriously, we had some really fun moments as well."

Paris, July 11: Shilpa Shetty’s popularity after the Big Brother episode seems to be on an all time high as sources claim that she has been approached to play the Bond girl opposite none other than Daniel Craig.
Shilpa’s thrust with fame could never reach a high with Bollywood but soon after her victory in the television reality show ‘Big Brother’, she has taken the world with a storm. According to sources, Shilpa met the Bond crew in Paris where she was approached to play the next Bond girl.
Her spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar said, “Shilpa is in Paris at the moment and if she has been offered the role then she should take it as she is fond of action packed roles and would be India’s answer to Lara Croft.”
