Another reason I'm loving this season, the past two weeks have had such refreshingly straightforward gameplay. We've been in a pretty awful era of reality TV that's littered with superfans and metagame, but it's so refreshing to have a week like James's HOH where he's just like "yup you two are getting nominated deal with it" and now a week like Becky's HOH where she's just like "yeah I'm going to pretend to go with Vanessa's plan but then blindside her too bad." It just feels like old school BB, especially now that we've gotten rid of absurd twists like Battle of the Block and we haven't delved into convoluted backdoor culture in a while.

This is definitely the best season in a long time. Really wouldn't expect it based on all the big characters going out one after the other but there's always people stepping up and still making it entertaining each week.

As for the episode, just saw the recap of the pre-eviction argument. Pretty great editing for the correct representation of the entire thing.

It amazes me that Vanessa has the nerve to offer people deals, when Becky and the others saw for themselves how much Vanessa's word means when she screwed them all with backdooring Jason instead of Austin.
Having said that, if I were a player I would get rid of Sjelli and keep Vanessa. Vanessa is useless at winning anything and now neither side trusts her.

...but tbh the possibilities of tomorrows DE are pretty exciting, and they tend to be really good to watch because they're so tense.

like Nicole breaking down over Hayden leaving (also confronting Christine) & Christine being evicted to boos were probably two of the few moments of BB16 that evoked any type of emotion from me.

I actually don't know who I want to stay more Shelli or Vamessa. :( Vamessa leaving would be a great way to end her ~legacy~ and I want Beckys plan to work (and if it does it's less likely she'll be targeted in the DE). Either way Steve MUST go in the DE tonight pleeeeeease.

Looks like my favourite at the start is about to go. She was good at times but she was a paranoid mess.

I don't know who I like now. I think my fave is James at the moment. He has really turned things around for himself and he nailed his HOH reign, as did Becky.

It just sucks because regardless of whether getting Vanessa or Shelli out was the right move, it ended up not even mattering. A Steve/John comp win was just the worst case scenario and we didn't even know it. I mean, they're both incredibly useless so we should've seen it coming since they're like Adam Poch and Jenn City, but still.

If they kept Shelli they have a bunch of people against the twins & Austin. Because Vanessa stayed, Steve stuck to that side and went after the lone 3 Goblins.

Earlier in the week I saw Steve say he was throwing the double eviction HOH. Then when the others decided to flip the vote (and not tell him) he then later said he wanted to win and would now have a reason to put the Goblins up.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Vanessa herself influenced the decision as well, as she wanted the twins to put up 2 of those people.

Really bad decision on their part. I would have liked to see Meg go instead as she was the aggressive one behind it, and simply way less likable than Jackie, but eh decent enough DE outcome.

Shelli's two closest allies were Steve and John so the only difference I see happening would be that she'd be in their ear to get James out instead of Jackie. Regardless of the first eviction a Steve/John comp win was worst case scenario.

Steve said to the cameras that he was throwing it if Shelli stayed (back when she was gonna stay). He got rattled by them flipping the vote & then not even telling him anything about it. Anyway it was clearly the worst decision in the long run, it just happened to screw them immediately.

And one more thing, Shelli seemed serious about turning on Austin & twins if ADC were the ones who kept her. So maybe she could've even influenced something different.

That's a strong 5 they kept together in the game and while it'd be hard to see Steve with them they don't even realize that Vanessa/Austin/Liz/Julia are as close as they are for some reason.

He was still trying to throw the comp. He was just pacing back and forth telling himself "THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HAPPEN" so apparently he's just too dumb to figure out how to throw a true/false comp. He also said the night before the POV that he was going to throw it, so all I got from him this week is that he's a mess and even when he's talking to the cameras by himself he's not 100% on what he's saying.

I don't think Shelli seemed that serious at all tbh, and clearly the people whose judgment mattered the most didn't think so either. She wasn't able to swallow her pride and grovel to people who she felt were beneath her morally. Like, I've never denied that it probably would've been better to get Vanessa out but Shelli gave them nothing to work with and had one of the worst campaigns ever. The only thing she was able to promise them was that she'd throw the HOH Comp.

She did promise them she wouldn't put them up towards the very end of her campaign, but mainly just said something like "obviously I wouldn't be saying this if I didn't mean it" :joker:

Don't get me wrong Shelli was bad at campaigning to them. I guess I don't blame them, but it was still the worse decision anyway.

Meh, I'm still optimistic about the rest of the season tbh I really don't think it's game over. We lost Da'Vonne, Audrey and Jason, 3 of the forums faves and the season kept getting better regardless. Hopefully:

the Liz HoH will help people realise that they need to gun for Austwins.

Vamessa could still either flip or unnecessarily make herself a target because she's crazy and Johnny Mac could FINALLY pick a side (the right one, with Queen Beckys influence please) and then they're obviously gonna bring back an underdog such as Jackie in the buyback. I wouldn't stop watching!

Jackies hoh campaign flopped harder than Britney Jean, at least D'Avonne actually did something.

For the record I think John is playing a pretty good game and I suspect we will be seeing more of him later on, John, Vanessa, Julia and Steve ftw.

What HOH campaign? She was in on a plan that was legitimate at the time, and then she was the one who woke Jason, James, and Meg the **** up and got them to realize that they were getting played. Da'Vonne's campaign was literally just approaching everyone and saying "hey I need one more vote, will you be it?"

John's game has kinda been garbage tbh! Like, he has a huge fanbase that is convinced that he's the next Dan Gheesling but he's more of a Jenn City. He hasn't done anything for people to think he's playing well, it's just people being hopeful since they like him.

In other news, I'm at the point that I often get to in 13 week seasons where I feel like these people have been in that house FOREVER. Before BB14 at this point we'd have five or six weeks people left. There are nine ****ing people in there right now. The Jason thing feels like a long time ago, ****ing Audrey and Jeff and Da'Vonne feel like a completely different season, etc. It's been a very good season so far but I can't believe we have another five weeks and we're literally going until Survivor starts.

I'm definitely still watching. I'm obsessed. Even on seasons I don't like that much (this one, season 15) i can't wait for the next episode. I only post on Friday mornings (Aus time) because I've come on here during the week and had hoh/nominees/veto spoiled for me in the past. So I only ever look up BB stuff on my Friday train ride to work.

As for this week, I enjoyed the hoh comp. Austin really should have thrown that comp. Austwins were safe whoever won. All Austin winning did is ensure he got people pissed at him.

When john's game was on the line, he could have blown up austwins game way better and cut a F2 deal with Vanessa. He's just not that good of a player. Still hope he stays, Steve sucks.

Meg is useless.
