It's a slight annoyance towards her tbh but for a couple reasons. The main one is I hate when people literally have an agenda against the opposite sex, especially for the sake of a show like this. She actually didn't even say she wanted to win BB17 - her goal is for a girl to win, not for her to win. :joker: It's part of why I disliked Sarah in BBCAN3 and started disliking Bruno a bit towards the end, although in some fairness to him he was more retaliating against Sarah.

I liked the start of that all-girls alliance (not sure if it'll last this time but it has more potential than whatever that attempt was last season) just not Audrey and her mindset. It does seem to be the typical start the past 3(?) seasons now but Da'Vonne and Shelli were really likable that episode.


I also didn't like her DR's, including one point where she seemed pretty cold towards James when he won HOH. I don't remember exactly what she said but something minor that just came across a bit annoying to me after already being annoyed by her through the episode. She brought nothing that I liked besides being mildly annoying, similar to how she came across in the interviews. Seems stuck up and boring but was the center of attention (and I understand she will be but not excited about that). It's only been interviews and one episode but I just don't think I'll like her, I've gotten that kind of off-putting self-righteous vibe from her pretty consistently. :idc:

Although Jace, Da'Vonne, and Shelli were the only ones I could get behind so far and yet I still finished the episode thinking this'll be a great cast just cause of the very different personalities. :clap1:

This season has so much going for it, but just why, like why, did they have to go and bring back BotB? And then call it a fan favorite... honestly such a slap in the face. It could have been a perfect premiere if they had just brought in the entire cast, announced the TakeOver twist, and had Julie reintroduce the twin twist to the audience. Why add BotB when they're already have new twists to deal with every week. It's just overkill and it didn't even turn out well last season. It just made everyone scared to go against big threats. Why would they think that was a good thing? Awful decision.

I was feeling good about the cast and the twist, and now I just feel like the twist will only make it harder for this cast to shine. BUT... I'm still excited about the cast as a whole. A lot of different personalities in there, and yeah the TakeOver seemed awful to start with, but I was getting used to it. I just thought'd it'd be cool if we saw week to week changes to the classic format.

So? That's just how it's played out and it shouldn't matter. Sure there have been a couple all-male alliances, and that should be fine anyway, but no one I can think of has had their target set on solely females. Maybe last year for a short period because 6 guys aligned together. :joker:

But no one ever specifically targeted the girls/guys and were playing the game for the purpose of a specific gender to win, just for themselves. Audrey's mindset on the other hand IS being sexist, not the "sexism" of simply a couple guys or a couple girls grouping together in the game.

Good for Audrey for wanting a woman to win because it surely is time for a change. And it's pretty sad that the show is at a current state where a woman succeeding would be something new.

I like the first alliance, but I want to see them make it about gameplay and not about "yay we are the same sex".

I'm not the biggest fan of BOTB, but I also don't mind that it's there.

This twist every week is definitely a worry, hopefully it's not something they use to dictate how the season ends up, I just hope they let the season play out.

It's definitely strange that 8 people went on in the first night when there is a cast of 14. That's more than half. It definitely looks like there will be 2 more cast members that haven't been revealed. I can imagine how crazy twitter will be if one of them is Frankie lol.

In terms of relate-able people for me, it would probably be Jace, however he doesn't seem like much of a game player.

we'll see how long I last! Last time we had a season last this long we were left with episodes devoted to the Jordeff proposal and a rewind week (can you imagine living through that situation? I'd be furious if I wasted a full week in that hellhole of a house.) This show just doesn't have enough substance to last that long. 70-something days was perfect.

Hope to god the cast tonight are better then the ones tonight, I ended up dislike them all bar James and his "I am a Asian southern guy" was getting old as well.

The others, well Austin needs to stop with this Judas crap for one. The women, oh Jesus. Bored of the Aubery show all ready, Shelli will sell that girls alliance out to Clay in a heart beat and Dovane was the most moronic of the lot: "everyone loves Aubery" well Davone there is your first clue who is the biggest threat in the game. "I will sit out if no one nominates me"... well Davone you forgot someone else from the other group will just nominate you. If anything Clay and Meg were the most bareable because they hardly spoke.

The next bunch look a lot more interesting so hopefully they can save it. And ffs the twin twist again? Really? Hope Liz and her twin are the first ones voted out so it fails like the saboteur twist

You are complaining about sexism that isn't there. There is usually also the anti-jock / anti-male players (or physical threats) so it's not like "the girl who hates other girls" should be a detriment that apparently ruins seasons for helping guys in the game. Also guy alliances still tend to go after strong physical threats outside of their alliance so that includes a lot of males. I don't understand the reason to care as a fan whether a guy or girl wins BB. Let alone as someone actually playing the game in the house.

So far after the first episode Da'Vonne basically got the production pet edit. Why? Because she was entertaining. Those who show a big personality and/or have a good understanding of the game become the production pet for them. Those who have a lot to offer in the DR. I don't agree with all their choices but that is the reasoning behind it.

Da'Vonne & Shelli were fine, and if it's an all girl alliance that works it'd be something new, but Audrey really seemed like she had an agenda and came across as sexist.

Regardless I think she'll be playing too strong because of it. She'll at least hopefully bring a whole lot of drama to the season if she acts the way I expect.

You are complaining about sexism that isn't there. There is usually also the anti-jock / anti-male players (or physical threats) so it's not like "the girl who hates other girls" should be a detriment that apparently ruins seasons for helping guys in the game. Also guy alliances still tend to go after strong physical threats outside of their alliance so that includes a lot of males. I don't understand the reason to care as a fan whether a guy or girl wins BB. Let alone as someone actually playing the game in the house.

So far after the first episode Da'Vonne basically got the production pet edit. Why? Because she was entertaining. Those who show a big personality and/or have a good understanding of the game become the production pet for them. Those who have a lot to offer in the DR. I don't agree with all their choices but that is the reasoning behind it.

Da'Vonne & Shelli were fine, and if it's an all girl alliance that works it'd be something new, but Audrey really seemed like she had an agenda and came across as sexist.

Regardless I think she'll be playing too strong because of it. She'll at least hopefully bring a whole lot of drama to the season if she acts the way I expect.

Sexism is absolutely prevalent on this show, and I have no idea what your point is about anti-jock/anti-male players. The only time a male alliance went after a strong physical threat outside was Devin, who was psychotic. This hardly ever happens because the strong physical threats are usually part of the alliance.

Da'Vonne didn't get a production pet edit lmao she's just being pigeonholed into the sassy black girl DRs like Jocasta was last year. The reasoning behind who production favors has nothing to do with having a good understanding of the game. Grodner loved Jeff for having ostensibly good looks, Frank's father was a pro wrestler or whatever, Frankie had a famous sister, etc. It has nothing to do with big personalities or good gameplay, just whichever guy Grodner wants to promote.

The reason to care, like I said, is that this show is steeped in sexism and it's literally been a decade since a woman has won on her own merit. Just looking at the past five seasons, 5 of the 6 first boots in BB12 were women, the first 4 boots in BB14 were women, and 5 of the 6 first boots in BB16 were women. Likewise, there was only one girl in the final seven of BB12, two girls in the final seven of BB14, one girl in the final five of BB15, and one girl in the final five of BB16. Those statistics are worrying to me.

Wikipedia claims that the average was 7.56 million (BB has always averaged between 6 and 9 million so this is nothing new at all) but when you look on BB16's page the highest episode rating was only 7.41 million so idk. Most of the episodes fell in the 6 million range which is whatever. BBUS has always had a cult following anyway so nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm not feeling Jeff because I think he's the obvious 'Grodner golden boy'. He had so many DR's in the HOH segment I thought it was obvious he would win. I'm glad he didn't though.

Jackie is giving off good vibes, she has spice to her personality so maybe the Amazing Race crossover might not be such a terrible thing after all.

I thought I wasn't going to care much for Liz but after the premiere I'm actually quite fond of her. Jason went down in my estimations a little bit.
